ConfusedDater
I was wondering what goes through the head of a girl when I mention I don't have a cell phone. I guess I never saw the need for one since I was not out that much or had a list of girls to call but do any of you ladies found it odd if a guy doesn't have a cell phone? That is actually the reason but I don't want to give it away because I would not want to pay $50 a month to see my mother's number pop up on the phone. Link to comment
Mutley
If you don't want a cell phone....don't get one. I got a prepaid phone last year for emergencies. I rarely ever use it. Link to comment
bronte
I wouldn't really care--the guy having a cell phone is certainly convenient when trying to meet up, but I wouldn't think that his not having one meant he had no social life. Link to comment
Roasted Carrots
I wouldn't care. I resisted having a cell phone for the longest time, but when I started to drive my parents decided I needed one. I really enjoy it now, but I wouldn't hold it against anyone. As long as I had their home number or a good way to get a hold of them if I needed to. Link to comment
SchecterGuy
I would make no more assumption than you were a non comformist. Nothing wrong with that. I personally do not care for cell phones other than the convenience factor, but I have a Blackjack II . I hate going out with people who are constantly checking their phone or constantly text messaging. Good for you for ot having the cell phone. To me its just a tool for ego boosting... Along with Myspace and Facebook. Link to comment
a_lifters_life
Dude - if girls are judging you like that - they don't deserve you. Conserve your inner-self ! Link to comment
metrogirl
Wouldn't matter if he didn't have a cell, just makes it easier to contact them in the event I'm running late or have a last minute cancellation. Link to comment

Loki71
Cell phones are just electronic leashes. I have one but turned it off. Hated getting calls in the middle of a date. Link to comment
Mutley
I hate last-minute bull * * * * . HA HA. Yea, it would just make it easier to break dates anyway. Link to comment
Crazyaboutdogs
If you don't want a cell phone....don't get one. I got a prepaid phone last year for emergencies. I rarely ever use it. My cell phone is never turned on and I don't give out the number to people. I buy a pay as you go card every month and as long as I renew just before the month is over, the minutes add up. My phone is for emergency use, not for idle chit chat and texts. I wouldn't worry about not having a cell phone from the standpoint of dates...however, it is probably a good idea to get one for safety reasons. Link to comment
monkey123
it has its advantages and disadvantages, if u get the girls number u can call from ur house phone or whatever i dont think its that big of a deal, u just gotta be a little more organized. I gotta say though, cell phones are turning into a necessity in this country and others. One of my friends came back from africa and he said that in the huts and stuff with the small villages these poor people would have nothing but they would have working cell phones. i thought that was interesting Link to comment
jcrisph
my phone is gold. I left my phone in my friends car one weekend and i couldn't get in contact with anyone. I don't have a house phone and the reason is because all my roommates all have cell phones so we decided when we got internet that it would be pointless. I also don't have anyones phone number written down so if i lose my phone im lost.i actually just bought the sprint instinct today. Link to comment
Nightshade
If a guy told me he did not have a cell phone, I would not really care, nor would I assume that he had no social life (for all I know, he could have fifty messages waiting for him on his home phone). Some people have a home business and make more use of their landline; some people are trying to cut costs and have given up "extras". I have even known one person who stopped using his cell phone because he felt that too many people were taking up his free time (both clients who would call after hours, and his friends, who would call anywhere he was "just to talk"). All the cell phone plans in my area are expensive, so I tell all my friends that if they wish to call to chat, they better call my home phone, and I extend the same courtesy to them. Some people do need a cell phone for a genuine reason, but if you do not, then there is no reason to buy one. Link to comment
JadedStar
I think i'd find that an attractive and endearing quality if the guy didnt have a cellphone. It would cause some inconvenience but i would not find it a "bad" thing at all. People are too caught up in their phones for the most part. Link to comment

It's not so much that the phone dies but that when both people are on a cell phone the sound quality is often really poor and static-y and it's really annoying...If I had enough money I would get my boyfriend a landline, he only has a cell and will only call me on my cell and it drives me crazy.
