Pappers
I just heard this from a relationships expert: When it comes to men, ignore everything they say and only pay attention to what they do. Good advice? Do men agree?? Link to comment
melrich
There are lots of variations of this advice (watch the feet, not the mouth etc etc.) Don't see why someone would choose to apply it only to men, it's good advice when dealing with either gender. Link to comment
annie24
I just heard this from a relationships expert: When it comes to men, ignore everything they say and only pay attention to what they do. Good advice? Do men agree?? except when they say, 'i am breaking up with you' or 'i don't want to be in a relationship.' then believe what they are SAYING. Link to comment
bijoux27
I don't think you should ignore what he says, just make sure it's consistent with his actions. Link to comment
Cognitive_Canine
I just heard this from a relationships expert: When it comes to men, ignore everything they say and only pay attention to what they do. Good advice? Do men agree?? well, I think it works for both genders. Plenty of women are all talk too. I think it's pretty good advice to put more stock in what their actions show. However, definitely pay some attention to what they say too. They may be too timid to act because they want to gauge your reaction first. Sometimes you just gotta talk things out so they can tell you what they want to do and if that's okay. Link to comment
relm
That's brilliant advice - now we men have to change this policy since its been figured out! ...(that was sarcastic ;-) ) I guess this is basically the same as the old adage - actions speak louder than words. It's just a generalization but generally true of all people. Link to comment
Iakasot
This advice does work with men, but it's even more effective with women. Often women cannot identify how they feel, and if you ask them, they will tell you how they THINK they should feel in that situation. Link to comment

Batya33
I think annie made a great point with the exceptions being "i don't want to be in a relationship [with you]" or similar said in the beginning usually - so many women ignore that "but he's acting like a boyfriend without the title!" "but he rubs my feet and holds me after sex!" I would be wary of gender specific advice like that -- while it is true of both genders, if this "expert" didn't point that out I'd question his "expertise." Link to comment
