Recommended Posts

Basically, should i take creatine powder? Im doing some research at the moment, looking up supplements..And Im a bit confused as there are soo many different supplements out there..with each one saying its a Must for muscle growth!

At the moment im taking Whey Protein after each workout..

But im wondering if i should take Creatine or any other supplement?

After all, i dont want to be cutting myself short of faster gains!

Thanks for any advice.x

I'd take a better protein like Muscle Milk or Cytogainer.

Creatine - I'd take it, I use it currently and it's great for helping to repair your muscles quicker and it's safe. Creatine is natural - its in your body already, its what the body uses to repair muscle tissue.

i always used creatine in the past and liked the results. it gives me a wicked buzz when working out and decent strength gains. only downside to it is the size you put on is mostly water weight at first. then when you get off of it and the water subsides you will see how much you truly gained.

Now i was never a big fan of pro hormones but a friend turned me onto a supplement called Tren Xtreme and wow. ive been it for 5 weeks now and i am the biggest i have ever been. it doesnt give you a buzz like creatine (celltech by muscletech) but the strength and size you get from it is insane. you have to take it smart though like any supplement.

you cant just take a supplement and expect things. you have to know the right dosage, things to stack with it, diet, good workout for you and most importantly KNOW HOW TO LIFT WEIGHTS THE RIGHT WAY. You can do some excersises but be working the wrong muscles. make sure you know how to lift right.

^^^^ This is absolutley right. I lift too and it's all in the technique - the form. If you do it wrong then it won't produce results or worse, end in an injury. I had a personal trainer for a while and that made a huge difference - I learned lots. As well, I've read a ton of literature about it. Now when in the gym, I "entertain" myself by spotting all the lifting errors.

Even little things can make a huge difference - posture, speed, number of reps and all that. There's a real science to it.

I can't comment on the creatine. I do, however, take protein powders often (daily - whey powder etc) usually because I simply don't get enough protein in my "semi" vegan diet.

Alright, so im not too sure about Creatine now :S ..i just asked my sisters fiancee too, (who's a doctor and a gym-go'er). He said he took it for about a month and said it was pretty good, but atm he just takes No.Xplode (a pre-training drink) and Whey protein...He said to just carry on with protein shakes and to make sure i was eating lots..and if i want to take creatine to take Cyclone (Maximuscle) which contains creatine and protein..He said id see good results with creatine if i go to the gym 5 days a week..

But what about water retention..id rather have better definition than to just bulk up with water?

Hmm im not sure about hormones..theyre probably good, but not sure if ive reached that level yet..

Yes i do hope im lifting correctly, my housemate has been going tot he gym for a while, and he has become my personal trainer..Is there anything significant i should be doing? When it comes to posture etc? I know i should lift slowly, and in control...

Surely theres less chance of doing it wrong when im on a machine?

Also, if it helps im around 154lbs atm, and i should be getting about 170g of protein right? Is it alright if around half of that is from shakes?

Sorry for all the QQQ's lol.

the only problem with some protein drinks is that some work with your stomach and some dont. i bought a big ole tub at walmart for 36 bucks and regret it. i drink that stuff and my stomach wants to explode for like 4 hours. bloats the hell out of me. then i got some stuff from GNC that had different flavors and you can mix with water. that stuff was sooo good and smooth. some protiens are better than others. do your research and check online reviews.

as for work outs. here are some pointers. when working chest always pop your chest out but that doesnt mean arch your lower back too much to do it.

when doing biceps always keep your stationary, never pull with your shoulders to get that last rep, use all biceps.

do most work outs with a 2 seconds down to 2 seconds up ratio. ( example, bench press, you go down in 2 second intervals, then up 2 seconds. i always find on the last rep for a good burn go down and up on 3-4 seconds. you will feel it!)

never hunch or arch back for any work outs. try to stay straight and aligned.

theres more but it comes with practice, reading, and time. dont be shy to ask people in the gym what this work out works and how to do it.

i'm sorry, but creatine does not repair your muscles lifter. it is to swell your muscles with water so that they have room to grow. if you are overweight and starting to work out to gain muscle, you do not need creatine. it's for ripped tight skinned people who need the extra room.

just stick to protein and eating everything you see if you want real gains.

Ok, ive kinda decided against the Creatine now..eventhough im not overweight or anything and maybe i do need the extra room!?

Anyway, does anyone know anything about BSN - No.Xplode and Syntha 6 Whey Protein? Im thinking of buying a stack for £50 on ebay..This is what my sisters bf bought and he said its the most gains he's ever had...

Thanks for the tips drewcious, ill keep them in mind!

i use syntha6. large red protein container. 4 hour release. cookies and cream and chocolate are the best. strawberry kind of sucks.

2 scoops with skim milk or fat free milk is tasty. cookies and cream tastes like actual ice cream. chocolate just like nesquik. good stuff. i use it in the morning and after workouts.
