preciousgirl82
i have a pregnancy question that has been boggling my mind.... If i had unprotected sex on the night of July 7th (successfully used withdrawal method) and I got my period LITERALLY the next morning (July 8th), is it possible that I could still be pregnant? It was my usual heavy, annoying period. I was just wondering, if an egg couldve been fertilized after that and i'll miss a period this month. Help?!?!? Link to comment
CallingAllAngels
Take a pregnancy test to be sure. Anything is possible. And NEVER have unprotected sex again. Be smart. Get on the pill or use a condom. Link to comment
ImThatGirl
^^ Agree with Allie ^^ However, no, I'd say it's not likely that you are pregnant. You don't typically ovulate the day before your period. Link to comment
Scorpion Fury
Nope, highly doubt it. The luteal phase (Phase from ovulation to period) is 9-16 days long. Link to comment
riley123
(successfully used withdrawal method) Is there such a thing as successfully withdrawing? Please be more careful if you are not prepared to have a baby. Link to comment

I'm sorry, I might have missed heard that, did you say successfully used the withdrawal method? I have never heard to that method being successful in anything apart from pregnancy! Get on the pill or use a condom or you'll be a parent pretty soon. I think you're safe this time. XXXX Link to comment
agent1607307371
(successfully used withdrawal method) How can you tell? Not all sperm come (pardon the pun) out at once. Whenever there is an unprotected penis in you, there's a risk of preganancy. I would suggest you get a test to be sure. And find a method of contraception that suits you and actually works. arwen
Every time you have sex, you have a chance that you will end up pregnant. Also when you think you are not in your fertile 'period' of the cycle, or when you think all his sperm came out when he orgasmed (outside of you). This chance can be close to zero if you choose to use a reliable way of protection such as the pill or the combination pill and condom. The pull out method is not actually a 'method', in my opinion. It's more playing with fire. Why do you rely on this? Link to comment
preciousgirl82
I usually ALWAYS use a condom, it was a heat of the moment thing. And I know what you mean by there is NO safe withdrawal method. I just meant he didnt ejaculate til he came out of me and put on a condom. I guess im confused because people say you cant get pregnant and have a regular period. Im just questioning it because the timing was so crazy. Unprotected sex only hours before my period came. What does that mean? I heard it means an egg was not in a position to fertilize if i got my period so soon. Link to comment

Buy one, or have your doctor take one. Yes, the chance is not big. But it's not zero and bigger than when you'd have used a condom or pill. Link to comment
southerngirl
In short, yes you could be pregnant. I had a friend who had sex on her period thinking she *couldn't* get pregnant because she was menstruating. She was pregnant and has a 14 year old daughter to prove it. Like the others have said. Use protection each and every time you have sex until you are ready to bring children into the world. Take a test if you are late for your period. If not, try not to worry about it because stressing can actually make it come later. Link to comment

Ovulation usually occurs 7-14 days before your period, and the egg dies within 12-24 hours if not fertilized. However, if you are not ready or interested in becoming a parent, I would strongly advise you to use protection every time you have sex, since withdrawal method has a 25% or so chance of failing.
