livefree
Okay, so my periods have never been regular, and even at 21 they're still very irregular. They kinda have a mind of their own. But this has never happened... For the past week maybe I think I've been having my period, only it's very very light, which is unusual for me. It's so light that I'm unsure that it's even a period. And it stops, comes back, then stops, and sometimes it seems like it's getting heavier, then get's a little lighter. It's not the normal 'start heavy then gradually teeters off into nothing' period. For instance, today I thought I stopped. But then it started again! I am sexually active, but have only had sex during one week out of the last few months (long distance relationship). I don't know if this would have anything to do with it, unless this seems like spotting from pregnancy? In which case, I should probably take a test. So could this be spotting? Or what is this from? Kinda nervous... Link to comment
stella777
it can be related to pregnancy. can you calculate and see if the week you had sex was in your fertile period of time? Link to comment
Angel_baby
Stress can also cause abnormal periods. Have you had any other symptoms? Was the last time you were sexually active a long time ago? Have you tried getting on birth control? It is very helpful helping irregular periods get to a regular schedule. Best thing to do is to get a test to put your mind at ease. The cheap ones work to. I know how stressful it is not knowing for sure. *hugs* Link to comment
livefree
it can be related to pregnancy. can you calculate and see if the week you had sex was in your fertile period of time? I really wish I could calculate it, but my periods just are way to irregular. They vary anywhere from 1 week between periods to 10 months between periods...which I have never gotten checked out, but I probably should. Stress can also cause abnormal periods. Have you had any other symptoms? Was the last time you were sexually active a long time ago? Have you tried getting on birth control? I know how stressful it is not knowing for sure. *hugs* As far as pregnancy symptoms, I checked into it, and none that really stick out. I've been extra moody but that could be due to anything really. The last time I was sexually active was about a month ago, we used protection, but yeah never a sure bet with condoms I was considering birth control before and it probably would be the best option, depending on whether or not I'm pregnant now of course Yeahhh it's really starting to get to me, but you're definitely right, the only way to really know for sure is by taking a test Link to comment
eleanorrigby1
you should get your irregular periods checked out, it could be polycystic ovaries, (which a lot of my friends have got) or it could be nothing, but worth checking out. On another note, I am pregnant right now and I knew I was pregnant before I missed my period because my boobs hurt sooooo much more than they normally do, the slightest movement made them hurt. I had weird headaches and then I missed my period, two days after it was due I did a test and it was positive. I cant explain it but I just knew, you know your own body and it felt different. You should do a test, if its negative, try again in a few days and if thats negative then you are more than likely not pregnant. Get your irregular periods sorted though hun! x Link to comment
Catdancer
I just found out Sat that I am pregnant. I had thought that I was a couple of times before, too. I get pregnancy symptoms right before my period. I get really sore breasts, bloating, nausea, on a rare occasion vomitting, cramps, moodiness, weird headaches. All of these are symptoms of pregnancy or my period. So, I was getting a little excited, but trying not to, as I didnt want to be let down again. The biggest sign for me was the bloating and my nipples feel like their on fire (and not in a good way...lol) The bloating and gasy feeling was and is miserable. Throw in some very light discomfort/cramping, burning nipples and you've got one confused woman!! LOL I really dont think that you are pregnant. To ease your mind, go have a blood pregnancy test done. You should be able to do it now, and get the results very soon. Link to comment
