Do guys really honk at attractive females?

Right, so... I think I just got honked at by two different cars within 3 blocks. Either that, or I looked like I was crazy and about to run off the sidewalk into the street. Or perhaps there were a lot of pissed off drivers this evening who just happened to hit their horns as they passed me.

Seriously, though, do people really honk their car horns at people they find attractive? I've been told this, but the entire concept seems really ridiculous to me.

I would never do this. I can't stand guys that do this or make gestures/hit on girls at red lights.

Grow some balls and approach them if you're going to hit on them. Honking? Seriously?

I guess I just don't get it.

Yeah, maybe it's because I've mostly lived in smaller cities.

I don't get the honking thing either, which is why I was asking. I mean, it's not like it ever actually works, right? Maybe it's just for fun? I just can't imagine what in the world a guy would be thinking in order to go around honking at women.

Haha oh my. Yes guys really do that. My guy mates are abit more cruel then usual thoughh.

One friend shoved his head out the window honked his horn and told some poor teenage girl to put some clothes on. In his defense the girl was wearing very skimpy clothes and looked about 13.

But my answer on this is yes. definitely happens.

Cause we get excited when we see something we like so we toot the horn because it is an energetic sound to match our enthusiasm.

That and to see the girls reaction.

please stop

I've actually been scared by a loud honk before, ushh

reason why i wear my ipod now, better be deaf by loud music than scared by a loud honk.

No way I am a big ugly dude and my chances of getting a little hot chick are close to zero. You cannot take my horn away from me it is all I have.

ohh you're evil

I don't mean to be its just a natural reaction, seems you have asked I think I should explain it you as I did in my previous post I know I am a scumbag who will never get one of those girls, so I toot the horn instead. It is like a release of energy it is necessary. I don't do it as much now as I did when I was younger, but sometimes for old times sake.

If I had a nice car I would honk at a few girls. But driving an old ugly white rusty town car is not attractive at all..I know I would get laugh at if I honked

nah, i'd laugh even if you were drivin a mercedes lol.

the only reaction a guy gets for honking at me ... is are you serious? lol.

You do realize that that 'are you serious' look can be one of the cutest things in the world.

Sometimes when I was a little bit younger and I used to walk everywhere I would pass some young girls dressed a little scantily on the odd occasion. My reaction 80% of the time was to put on the broadest smile I could and look at their bodies and say in a slightly slurred voice almost laughingly 'how ya going'. The girls would either reply with a simple 'hello' or they'd laugh back or smile as if to say 'yeah fair enough'. Because the situation was so ridiculous that what was going on was obvious, they were wearing little tank tops that expose the hips, low cut tops and a short skirt..

I don't know them, I wasn't going to stop and ask for her number but I am going to laugh and let her know that I appreciate the female form..

Tooting the horn is similar, we're hardly going to pull over and start a conversation then ask for you phone number, that would probably end in the police being called. Instead it is just a quick 'yep you're cool keep up the good work' and on our way. I hope that explains it a little better.

Guys who honk are so annoying. There are a lot of honkers where I live, but I hate the guys who say rude things while they drive by. Like once some guy drove by and yelled to me nice t*ts and drove off. Which was really weird because I was wearing a sweater it's not as if I was exposed. It has nothing to do with age really because this guy who said this to me looked like he was in his 40's. I just looked at him and acted as if I didn't hear anything with absolutely no emotion on my face because it felt as if he was waiting for a reaction. I think guys just feel more comfortable doing and saying things to girls they don't know and will most likely never come in contact with again, yeah I know it's pretty pathetic.

I do it with some of my friends when we're at school, but we do it mostly to be funny. We aren't actually trying to get girls, we just have fun doing it. We'll usually blast some cheesy music and honk and point at every girl we see. =p
