Ashleigh_n_TN
how intense was the burn?? maybe its a urinary tract infection?? Link to comment
Gingerstar
it doesn't hurt when I pee though. It burns alot. especially afterwards. could it be a vaginal infection? if so could burning be the only symptom? Link to comment
Ashleigh_n_TN
annie is right, i would go to the doctor. These kinds of things can cause infertility if they go long enough with no treatment. Link to comment

sushi_pompom
I woke up today and it smells really fishy. Any ideas? I'll try and go to the doc but It will have to be tomorrow.. Honey I'm pretty certain you have bacterial vaginosis...I've had it a few times and it is horrible! The burning is non-stop, plus smelling of dead fish isn't pleasant either. You're gonna need to see a doctor and be put on antibiotic... Link to comment
Gingerstar
I'm going to the doctor today, The advice nurse says she thinks it's a bacterial infection. But how do you get that? and will it continue? what helps it? Link to comment
arwen
Yeast won't cause that smell- this is more typical of bacterial vaginosis or trichomoniasis; this is a parasite that can be transmitted by sex and causes irritation and a fishy/rotten egg smell. You can carry the latter for years before having symptoms. But please go to a doctor and have it sorted out. Does your husband have any symptoms, or have irritations in the past? Link to comment
Gingerstar
no, he does't. I'm going to the doc today. Link to comment

annie24
so confused. doc says I don't have anything wrong....? did they take a urine sample and do a pelvic exam? that is what they should have done. Link to comment
Gingerstar
pelvic exam yes, and this other test where they pour liquid on a swab after they swab me and it changes smells if I have the infection. Link to comment
annie24
but no urine exam? why not? i would go back and get one. urine exam can see if you have bacteria or yeast in your urine. that can also explain burning. though i guess you might get burning while peeing. i don't think you are 'alright' if you experience burning during sex and your odor smells fishy. it's ok to stand up for yourself and demand a second opinion with another doctor.
