hockeyplaya44
It drives me crazy sometimes because you can't see their eyes and a good portion of their face. I was sitting in a restaurant today and noticed a beautiful waitress. It is a casual dress code for employees, so she had the big glasses girl like to wear on. Now, maybe I need to work on my confidence some more, but I won't approach a girl unless she has at least shown some interest with eye contact, a smile or something like that. I was pretty sure that she found me attractive. Her head would be turned towards me as she passed and I would just look back into these huge dark circles wondering if she was actually looking it me haha. When she had nothing to do, she would push her back up against the bar and face towards me for minutes at a time, but I had no way of knowing if she was looking at me or not. grr.... Link to comment
Mlost
Haha. I agree. Some of them out here literally take up half the face. Even though, smaller ones that are completely mirrored would give you the same result. But with these, it's like a big bug is staring at you!! Scary. Link to comment
Carmine
YES! I HATE THE HUGE SUNGLASSES! It's especially annoying when I start talking to a girl and she doesn't take them off. So remember ladies...don't be a Bono, take those damn things off once in a while. Link to comment
SupaflyTNT
I hate those glasses cause when you finally see what's under them it can be a surprise. I remember talking to a girl in Miami at this pool for almost two hours, I thought she was so hot. She had those huge glasses on and when she took them off...omg. Let's just say my attraction level dropped a few notches but I had already flirted with her for two hours. Stupid glasses. But they do look pretty good on girls, hehe. Link to comment
Crazyaboutdogs
Back in the 80's and 90's big prescription glasses were the norm. I have pictures of me with those glasses and have to laugh..they do indeed cover a large part of the face! Link to comment
thejigsup
I have a collection of those big glasses. Guys can't tell what I'm thinking when I'm in public, which is what I intended. Link to comment
Brightest Dark
I love big black sunglasses and hiding behind them. I wore them when I met a guy once and he complained after how he hadn't really gotten to see my eyes. I guess if you do go on a date it's probably good to take them off for a bit although I always feel 'cooler' (and feel like I look better too) when I have my shades on. lol. Link to comment
hockeyplaya44
YES! I HATE THE HUGE SUNGLASSES! It's especially annoying when I start talking to a girl and she doesn't take them off. So remember ladies...don't be a Bono, take those damn things off once in a while. That's another thing. If I did still go talk to her, as I'm walking I don't know if she sees me coming yet or not. So when I say hi she might not even be looking at me, and I have no way of knowing when she does look at me, so it throws the timing of the conversation off making it awkward. And, if I smile at her to look for a response, maybe she was looking when I smiled and didn't want to respond, or maybe she would have wanted to but wasn't looking at that exact time. It reminds me of Vince Vaughn's take on "dating" in Wedding Crashers haha. Link to comment
Carmine
For all you know she could be wearing those glasses so she can stare at your package without you noticing. Link to comment

Crush85
I think huge sun glasses look so stupid. Link to comment
capbit
Not a big fan, they only look good on certain faces. And the ones with the glued on diamonds are just ghetto. Link to comment
Clarity
I basically assume that any girl who wears those is completely ugly underneath - why else would they wear them? I'm probably wrong in some cases, but they look so idiotic, I don't feel like I'm missing out. Link to comment
Shudder
I basically assume that any girl who wears those is completely ugly underneath - why else would they wear them? I'm probably wrong in some cases, but they look so idiotic, I don't feel like I'm missing out. you have a point. i find that the better looking ones don't wear ones that cover half their face. and the ones that aren't so pretty have massive ski goggles on. then again i'm prolly generalizing... SupaflyTNT
Nah, all sorts of girl wear those glasses nowadays. It's a fashion thing. But that's why you can get a surprise when they take them off, you just never know. It's like opening a present on christmas, haha. Link to comment
poloplayer
I've seen great looking women wear them, so it's not always used to hide something. My thing is that they are so darn tacky. Even designer brands like Chanel and Dior make them look so ugly IMO. I knew a few girls in college who spent $250-$500 on a pair of designer bug eyes. Not my money, not my life... I see nothing wrong with sunglasses, but I tend to side with something a little more classic looking. Link to comment
alphabetsoup13
argh, i get so frustrated when girls wear huge sunglasses. It covers half their face! ](*,) Link to comment
SBV
I basically assume that any girl who wears those is completely ugly underneath - why else would they wear them? I'm probably wrong in some cases, but they look so idiotic, I don't feel like I'm missing out. I like to wear them and take great offence that you think I just wear them because I'm ugly underneath. Thanks a lot! I'm guessing you're not all that yourself... I think that is an unjust comment. That's like saying all men who grow beards or moustaches do it because they are ugly too and trying to hide their faces too. How would you like it if I said that!? Or men that wear beanies do that because they are ugly. I actually hate beanies but I wouldn't go so far as to say those who wear them do so because they look ugly or have bad hair. At the end of the day we are all individuals and have the right to wear and dress how/what we want. If you don't like it, whatever. I would rather be with a guy who liked me for me and not for whether I chose to wear big sunglasses when it's sunny. If a guy can't handle how I dress or what I wear or look like he ain't worth being with. Plus personally I'd rather be able to see instead of being blinded by the sun and not have to squint and get (more) wrinkles. I actually feel more comfortable when I'm wearing big sunglasses than without. Maybe that's because I *am* a little insecure about my looks - but we don't need you guys saying we're ugly because we wear them! Oh and here's me in mine, LOL (and yeah my hair was a mess that day and it was windy, but nevermind...): image removed Link to comment
Carmine
SBV, he wasn't calling you ugly, so no need to take offense. You just need to understand it from a guy's point of view. Those glasses make it very hard for a guy not only too see the face of a girl, but also make eye contact with her and have any kind of non-verbal communication. You can wear whatever you please, but if you'd like attention from the opposite sex (which you could not care for, I don't know), those glasses aren't helping. It's like guys who wear a baseball cap all the time so you never know what their hair looks like. Link to comment
ImThatGirl
You Go SBV! You look glamorous! I have to ask - Have any of you that bashed them ever tried a pair for a day or two? I hated them at first. But finally gave them a try. I'll probably NEVER wear those itty bitty glasses again. The itty bitty's don't even protect your eyes from the sun one bit compared to the huge ones! I can't stand having sun in my eyes and LOVE that big glasses protect my eyes from it! I see what you are saying though about it making someone less personable. My ex - hated, hated my glasses. He used to get so mad making comments "get those things off - don't know why you always have to hide behind them!" With him though, I did love to wear my glasses even more. A barrier between us of sorts... And I really couldn't stand not having mine on around him. Link to comment

I don't think I look that different to be honest between wearing glasses and not wearing glasses. You can still get a pretty good idea of what we look like. I think it's only if the girl really does have weird eyes or something like that than the glasses would do a misjustice. But yeah, that's if the girl cares about whether she wants to attract guys or not. There are so few guys that I'm actually interested in (in my area) that I don't personally care when I'm out if no-one is attracted to me. I will bear this in mind if I'm meeting a guy I do like though, and try and keep the sunglasses at a distance as much as possible! Link to comment
EQD
Yeah... i dont like the 'bug' look. these glasses look rediculous and hide peoples faces. i guess this is just fashions way of re do'ing the 80's... er... whenever they came out the first time... Link to comment
