lachughes
I'd like to know if anyone else is like this. Most people enjoy being outside in the summer with the humidity and high temperature but for some reason my body finds it really uncomfortable and unbearable. Especially with the humidity, it just makes me really irritable and leaves me in a bad mood (not to mention sweaty). Like when it's so hot that the air conditioning in my car blows out warm air, road rage just amps up and I'm normally calm behind the wheel. Most people like going to the beach or play sports outdoors this time of year. I'd prefer working out indoors or sports in an air conditioned facility or just wishing I lived in a basement. I seem to be the only one in my family and out of my friends like this and I have no idea why. Can anyone else relate to this or is there something wrong with me? Link to comment
metrogirl
I understand completely..... I'm sort of the same way. I can handle the dry heat without much of a problem but when it is super humid outside, I get really frustrated and irritable.... I think it is the way the humidity makes me feel, hot and sticky all over not to mention that my hair looks like someone zapped me with an electric prod or something. Link to comment
jengh
I'm the exact opposite. I love the scortching heat. As soon as winter comes, though, I'm a wreck. I get depressed, angry, bitter...i HATE the cold and snow. Link to comment
Portage
Summer in Ontario is extremely humid. My favorite seasons are spring and Fall. So to answer your question, you are not a freak of nature Link to comment

I get depressed, angry, bitter...i HATE the cold and snow. I thinks this is more common. When people don't get enough sun in the winter, sometimes they get down and depressed. Link to comment
McLovin oo7
Summer in Ontario is extremely humid. My favorite seasons are spring and Fall. So to answer your question, you are not a freak of nature I love Ontario after spending a lot of time outside Canada in hot humid weather, Ontario just feels so good now. Yes, I hate humid weather but we are lucky to have cold cold winters and great summers. Link to comment
lostandhurt
I live and work in a very hot climate. My crew works out in the street in 100 deg heat everyday with the road at about 135 F. We have low humidity so it isn't that bad for us. There are several people in our yard that are just like you and can't function very well during the summer not matter what they try to stay cool. I think it is just they way we are all made up just like people that are always cold in the winter and others that don't even seem to notice. Have that A/C serviced and do what feels right and healthly to you. lost Link to comment
Crazyaboutdogs
Summer in Ontario is extremely humid. My favorite seasons are spring and Fall. So to answer your question, you are not a freak of nature Love Spring and Fall. September and October are my favourite months. I can't stand humidity. I prefer to be outside in the morning before it gets too hot and humid...then I hibernate indoors when it is very hot and humid. I hate baking on beaches. I much prefer shady areas. I hate feeling sweaty and gross...and as a large chested woman, I can't stand having sweat pouring into the cleavage and having expensive bras wilt in the sweat and humidity. Link to comment
John14087
I thought i was the only one who hated summer! But yeah, I hate summer cuz AC is a fantasy in my house. I mean it works but it barely cools the house down below 80 degrees! I have no ac in my truck, even though i recharged it and it said it would last 3 years before another recharge, I work in a pizza kitchen where it actually is hotter inside than outside! Its like i wear three times as many shirts in the summer than in winter cuz i sweat so much i have to change shirts! I loathe hot weather! Link to comment
Cognitive_Canine
Bring on the winter. I'm a snow bunny. Link to comment
Raiden
I'm with you. Sunny and fresh is beautiful. But hot and humid is quite intolerable, especially if you're on the road or working. Link to comment
perceval
I dislike extremes... neither winter nor summer works me. lol I do like spring and early fall, though. As for summers: temperatures rarely rise above 90°F in Germany and it's hot only in July and August for the most part. Link to comment
capbit
I can do with the heat, it's the humidity that drives me insane. Fall is my favorite season though, neither too hot nor cold. Wear light clothes and cover up your car if you leave it outside. Link to comment

Daddy Bear
The summer humidity in Minnesota (aka Canada Lite) and the clouds of mosquitoes used to drive me to distraction as a kid. Once the Misery Index (temp F+humidity %) gets above 150, I'm over being outside. That's one thing I really appreciate about SoCal; it has a nice Mediterranean climate and the air rarely feels close and muggy here. Local running joke: JIM: It's a hundred and ten today. BOB: Yup, but it's a dry heat! Link to comment
dont_know_what_2_say
I live in a place where it is summer YEAR-ROUND, the "winter" is usually 50F/10C at its lowest and even then thats pushing it.. So i guess its more of getting used to it.. I got to experience real winter when i went to Canada and i actually loved it! the only thing i didn't like was when it got dark by four pm or something, and i used to wake up at 2 so it was two hours of daylight for me haha Link to comment
