lvlyldy
The guy I've been dating for awhile now (7 mo), sometimes sends me texts saying that he "wuvs" me. Lol... what exactly is wuv, and how do I take this? I've never said that I "wuv" him back and usually in response, he just gets "aww" from me. Has anyone used "wuv" with someone their dating? What did you mean by it? One thing to note..we've never said "i love you" to eachother Link to comment
Supa_gurl
love.....LUV or wuv sometimes even referred to as WUB....I say these kinda things to my husband all the time. Link to comment
evice
That's why he texts you "wuv". He avoids saying "love". It is difficult for some people to say. I wouldn't pay so much attention to it. Link to comment
annie24
oh gross, i need to go throw up now. (jk!) no seriously, he's saying he loves you, but is too shy to actually say that (hence, the gross sugary sweet wuv.) i need to go take an insulin shot now.... Link to comment
Crazyaboutdogs
oh gross, i need to go throw up now. (jk!) no seriously, he's saying he loves you, but is too shy to actually say that (hence, the gross sugary sweet wuv.) i need to go take an insulin shot now.... LOL. I have the same sentiments as you! I think that would annoy me...but then again I can't stand when partners call each other sweetie, babe, honey, deer, poopsie or any other baby talk words. I call my dog sweetie, sometimes but I can't imagine calling an adult sweetie. To the OP...has your boyfriend been watching too much Elmer Fudd on TV! Link to comment
BeStrongBeHappy
He's trying to be cute... some couples love to mushy baby talk with each other, but it kind of creeps me out... everyone is different. Maybe he's been reading too many Hallmark Cards! Link to comment

To the OP...has your boyfriend been watching too much Elmer Fudd on TV! i don't mind babe, sweetie, dear, etc... the standard ones are fine with me. what i don't like are 'poopsie woopsie', 'snugglewums', etc.... that's too gross for me. i was in a changing room, and the woman next door kept telling her boyfriend to bring her a different size jeans, shirts, etc..... she kept calling him baby and was baby talking with him. it was so gross. i don't know how this grown man was tolerating being called 'baby.' ew. Treehugger
They tolerate because its their relationship, its a common thing to say in relationships these days. Some like some dont. You can think its gross, but at the end of the day it really shouldnt bother you as no one is saying it to you and it has nothing to do with you. Just carry on what you were doing and ignore the fact that couples speak like that. Link to comment
Mythical_Suicide
I'll sometimes tell my fiance on the internet or in a text that I "wuv" him in a playful way.. that's all it is, being playful. Maybe your bf is too shy to actually say the words but I don't understand that i'd be able to say "Love" easier than "wuv" Link to comment
lvlyldy
Lol so he's trying to be mushy gushy and cute... but not really saying he loves me or anything? Link to comment
Treehugger
Yes he is saying he loves you, but in a lovey dovey cute kind of way. Link to comment
lvlyldy
So as a guy, you'd never use the word "wuv" as a joke with someone you were dating? Im just a lil surprised if he was trying to convey actual love, mostly because he doesnt get too open with his feelings in general- hence my current state of confusion. Link to comment

jengh
my bf started out with the "wuv" crap. I quickly called him out on it because I think it's sickening. Like others are suggesting, he loves you but he's shy. Link to comment
greywolf
He's trying to be cute... some couples love to mushy baby talk with each other, but it kind of creeps me out... Guilty as charged. heheheheh. Well actually, I've seen some couples alot worse than me. OP: Like the others have said, He's trying to say that he loves you. I don't know why he uses 'wuv' though. He could be shy like others have said. But I think I'd be more shy to say wuv rather than love. That's just me though. Link to comment
