Ex-Boyfriends gift necklace... TO PAWN OR NOT TO PAWN??? HELP!

So I broke up with my boyfriend a year ago... found the necklace he gave me. It's a a beautiful necklace with diamonds and aquamarine (my birth stone) set in white gold in an ivy/leaf design. I snuck a look at the receipt when he gave it to me and I know it was over 500 bucks... but I can't bring myself to wear it... for we did not leave on good terms (he was caught with a serious child porn addiction along with some other issues).

I want to know how I can get rid of this necklace and still get a pretty penny for it, as I know it is valuable. I would love to sell it off and get a new Xbox 360 or some new clothes instead... I just can't bring myself to wear it.

Thanks!

pawn it! get rid of the memories and get some cash.

im looking into pawning the jewelry my ex bought me not bc of bad memories, but bc i dont wear it. one is a diamond tennis bracelet. im not sure what to expect at the pawn shop plus i feel like i coudl (maybe) get more money if i sold it to some jewelry store. im really not sure which way will be the most profitable. it was a pretty expensive bracelet, 1k+.

Well i would pawn it also... but i know you wont get $300 for it... i use to work at a jewelry store... your best bet is to sell it on ebay or craigslist... if you want that kind of money if you sell it at a pawn shop the most you would get is like under a $100 if your lucky... i knew a girl who sold a $3000 ring and got $35 for it at a pawn shop, but you could always keep it and melt the gold and make something new with it also... maybe a ring or something? but customizing something can get expensive... so.... just some insight on jewelry...
