star18
i've been in my new job for the last 3 months now, and since being there i have met some amazing people...one guy in particular. to begin with we were both really quiet and unsure as to what to say to one another, but over the last month we've been getting on extremely well. we have mutual friends at work- who've said that he is interested in me, but nothing has happened. he is always checking that i am ok, and he seems to go out of his way to help me. and i am always trying to do stuff to help him out, too, as i've found it to be a way of starting a conversation. he's started calling me "sweetie", "hun" and "chick" at work, which i don't mind. but the thing is we've only seen each other out of work the once-and that was a staff party last weekend. he got very drunk and spent a while with his arms wrapped around my shoulders- i think so he didnt fall over i don't know what to do now. i'm not the type of person who can just come out and say "hey,do you want to go out sometime?", i mean i panicked about him rejecting me on myspace as a friend!! at the same time, i don't know whats going to happen if i don't say something any ideas Link to comment
ghost69
hmmm, he could be one of those really touchy feelie types. i hate those people. there is one guy at my work that tries to do the back of the shoulder slap everytime he talks you and thinks he is being funny. i shrug away so he can't touch me. lol but he could be interested and just flirting with you and scared to take it further. rs.dallaire
The workplace is just about the easiest environment to meet people. Start by going for lunch with him. If you can't even ask him out for lunch, then I can't help you... Link to comment
CallingAllAngels
Hmmmmmmm..... How has he acted since he was drunk and was hanging all over you? Did he say anything about it? Link to comment
star18
We've been laughing about how drunk he got, and his dancing etc and he hasn't seemed embarrassed at all. Infact he's more relaxed and 'touchy feely' with me. I mean he'll put his hand on my arm, or in the arch of my back when he talks to me. Link to comment
CallingAllAngels
OK...as long as he's been cool, then why don't you take his lead and, since you both work together, say "wanna grab lunch today?" Hey...if the guy was comfortable enough to hang all over you while he was drunk, you gotta take a leap of faith here and go with the lunch thing... Good luck, and let us know how it goes.....
