karvala
(1) Go to a different doctor. Any doctor who tells you to take 4 paracetamol on a daily basis ad infinitum may be politely described as misguided. (2) With a different doctor, ask for/try a different AD. You may well get the same (or even better) mood benefit on another one without the headache side effects. Link to comment

I have saw 2 dostors in the same practice , who have said the same -stick with the paracetamol . I get the feeling that they think i am time wasting and nerotic. Link to comment
k_1971
Hey, weeyin. what kind of headaches are they? I mean, do they always appear at the same place in your head? how long have you been on Prozac? what other ADs have you been prescribed in the past? I'm on Citalopram, and I got some odd side-effects to start with. I get headaches too, but I'm convinced they're down to a caffeine dependancy I have. Some things that work for me include Irn Bru. (seriously) a cold wet flannel on the back of my neck. if my headache is particularly bad I take Paracetamol, asprin and ibuprofen hope that helps, Take care and best wishes Link to comment

I have tried coming off ADs altogether but i end up really low and unable to function. As for "the other national drink " ? irn bru am sat here with a glass of it now lol. I maybe will start the prozac again and see if asprin or ibruprofen help better . As for where the pain is ? is right behind my eyes , i find sunlight make its it even worse. Thanx to all that gave advice Link to comment
Tears May Fall
SSRIs can cause headaches however they usually tend to decrease as time goes along while being on the medication and your body adjusts. If its becoming troublesome and is interfering with your quality of life and sleeping patterns, then that wont help alleviate your depression. Do any natural methods help? Where are the headaches? Are they continuous or do they come and go? What time of the day do you take the prozac? Any changes in eating habits lately? Sleeping cycles? Try making a headache log, and note the time of day they occur, what you did within the past hour or two before the onset (foods, drinks, activities, etc). This might help give you an idea if something external might be influencing them. Paracetamol might help, but its effects on the liver from chronic use warrant its repeated use. Ibuprofen, naproxen, aspirin are all safe choices for you to take while being on the prozac. The only drugs that should be avoided while being on a SSRI are the "triptans" - imitrex, relpax, etc. -PharmD Link to comment
