waterbaby07
Hey guys and gals- what's your take on a good looking guy (over 6 feet tall, fabulous shape, good athlete, college educated, has a good job and is a homeowner) who waits until age 29 to lose his virginity? This is the latest i've ever heard of anyone losing his virginity. My friend thinks he may be gay. I haven't met him yet so can't make a decision (maybe he's dorky or really shy?) Link to comment
melrich
Probably doesn't mean he is gay, in fact unlikely given he seems to have now lost it. Likely he was waiting for the right person. Link to comment
adahy
I agree with Melrich. I was a little late, although not quite 29. Why worry about it, unless you have some homo-fascination. Link to comment
Stinking Rose
There is absolutely nothing wrong with people who wait until a certain age to lose their virginity. Rather, I have more respect for them then your average Joe or Jane who starts having sex at an early age. Link to comment
shikashika
I would wonder why, for sure. personally, it wouldn't be very appealing and I would be a little turned off if i met a guy who was still a virgin at that age. if he is waiting forever for the right person, he is probably not the right person for me. Dako
Poor guy is the center of attention, isn't he? Maybe you should ask him to explain himself. LOL Link to comment
waterbaby07
he said 1)religion 2) became embarrassed about it and thereforeeee prolonged the action Link to comment
bih2003
I RESPECT THAT... I would love to have a virgin boyfriend. I regret loosing my virginity ever and honestly it has haunted me forever. I feel guilt and my soul is hurting always.... BAD MEMORIES! I cry all the time and honestly I WISH I WAS 29 and STILL A VIRGIN! Link to comment
RocStar
I'm just guessing, but maybe because of his religious beliefs, he was trying to hold out until he got married. Then, when he finally realized that was probably going to be longer than he originally thought, he got scared at his lack of experience. Maybe most of his friends have been having sex for years, so he is scared he won't "measure up" to others that his partner(s) may have been with. Just a guess, though... Link to comment
AngelEyez
I'd be impressed...now you see people losing their virginity when they're like...9-13 years of age. Yuck. Link to comment
Mythical_Suicide
Why is there such stigma put upon a guy (or even a female) who decides to wait until they find the right person to have sex?? Why do people automatically assume they are gay? Why? My bf was 25 when I took his virginity and to be honest, that was the best part of it. I knew he was giving it to me and that meant something to both of us and made it more "special" to us both, and knowing that he isn't the guy to just sleep around made me want him even more. I just hate that guys especially are frowned upon or are automatically labeled "gay" just because they havent' had sex before a certain age (Besides, who dictates the age at which it's "normal" or right to lose your virginity anyway?) I would much rather see a (40) year old virgin waiting for the right woman than a 19 year old man- * * * * * who has slept with god knows how many people. Link to comment
Crazyaboutdogs
Bravo! Great Post! If people are always telling everyone that a person's sexual past is nobody's business and shouldn't have a bearing on the current relationship (when referring to the number of partners), then it stands to reason that a person who chooses to remain a virgin until whatever age is nobody's business either and shouldn't have a bearing on the current relationship. Also, if it is not your partner, why the gossip and the ooh and aah. It shouldn't be fodder for idle gossip any more than anybody who is sexually active. By the way, there are plenty of gay men who have had numerous female sex partners because they are still in the closet. So having had sex with women doesn't automatically rule out being gay any more than holding out having sex until x age means that the guy is gay. It is preconceived notions which may not have any factual basis. Link to comment
Luke Skywalker
So what's the deal here, the fact this guy has a good job or looks like a stud, and thereforeeee has to have women throwing themselves at him and well because men are pigs that cant pass up sex then he's supposed to have sex or something or he's gay? So, if he was ugly, or was unemployed, or had some bad breaks, or lived with folks then it's understandable if he's a virgin because he's a loser right? So, you are either a loser or your are gay if you are a virgin? Geez, I cant believe how superificial people can start evaluating something, on whether or not somebody had sex or not and make such a big deal about his status, looks, and don't care anything about who this guy is. Maybe he just doesn't want to have sex, especially with shallow women, which would explain to me why he's a virgin and make sense if lots of women think like how people on this thread posted. All I can say that it's good to see a guy that can show an almost good moral example to guys on here of self-control and self-discipline, at least he tried, it's too bad he failed and ultimately gave it up. Too bad for him, he could have been a 30 y/o virgin. Link to comment
shikashika
I wouldn't think they are gay. i would never want to 'take someone's virginity' esepcially at my age. I'd rather be with a guy who'd been with 30 women or more than zero. i think if people want to wait, then its fine... its just not for me, nor who i want to be with. Link to comment
Mythical_Suicide
Everyone will talk whether someone is a virgin or has had so many partners. It doesn't matter, everyone just has to talk. If a guy has slept with (for example) 15 chics, he is automatically considered a player, BUT turn the tables and a guy who is still a virgin at a certain age is automatically labeled "gay". Same with a chic, if I was a virgin I would be considered a loser or a lesbian, but oh no let me go out and sleep with random number of guys and i'm labeled a wh0re.. Ok, so , I want to know who makes the rules and what gives anyone the right to judge or talk about someone just because of their lifestyle, sexual choices or whatever., it was a personal choice not something to be gossiped about. Not knocking your choice by no means because as I said before it's a personal choice.. Just wondering.. Link to comment

No, i would not want to be with a virgin, especially one at my age. just because someone has slept with countless people does not make them a walking STD. Nothing to do with not being 'cool'..I'm too old to be cool.. ha ha! i just wouldn't be compatible with someone who made that choice to wait so long. Link to comment

It just reminded me of it, because a male friend of mine told me hewas embarrassed because he had only been with 14 girls, where as many of his friends had been with 30, 40, 50+! Personally, I would be turned off by a man that had been with 15 or more women. Link to comment

I'd like to know that too. Who is making these rules and judging people who they don't know who make personal choices that are none of their business to gossip about. But I should have guess this was a female club thread here, but then again I guess I just don't understand women. Us guys couldn't give a jack crap if someone was a virgin or not. You will never see a guy thread thinking it's weird for a woman to be a virgin, even if she was 30 y/o - such a thread would not exist. Link to comment

Most 35 year old men are either married or have been in long term relationships of more than a year several times or have been married in the past so that would drop that number of one woman a year considerably. You said your friend that had only been with 14 girls was only 27 so that's not a 35 year old man anyway. A person that feels his number is too low and is embarrassed because of that is a pretty shallow person. You really can't put a label on something like that. It's personal preference and we are wrong to judge someone just because they chose to wait. Link to comment

I know a lot of single 35 year old men I never find ENA to be indicative of 'real life' anyway. I've never seen so many virgins and people who've slept with so few people. at least in my experience. Samedy
Would it make a difference if, although he was a virgin, he masturbated a lot to lesbian porn? Link to comment
