A g/f of a friend told me the other day that when I'm ready to date, she could find my true "match". She hardly knows me.

Then, one by one, each of my bud's friends start telling me of the matches she has made...like 10 or 12. 2 couples were there, they attested that they were hooked up by this woman...happy as all get out.

Odds notwithstanding...what???

id be cautious, but i know this nutty lady who does the same thing. she is crazy & funny, but crazy nonetheless. however she has hooked up quite a few couples and so far they are all still together. its like she can read something inside of people. she'll jsut say- you should date so and so- i think theyd make you happy, and sure enough they date and they are happy.

Not quite ready yet to put my future into the hands of a stranger, but her "supporters" are very enthusiastic! Maybe in awhile...I just don't quite believe it...but who knows? Plus she wants to hook me up with her sister. Divorced 3 years, lives 40 miles away!

Maybe this is a dream...or a nightmare! LOL!

My boyfriend "matched" his best friend with a woman he dated a couple times before he met me - he knew she was perfect for him.

His friend was QUITE hesitant and doubtful and almost chickened out - but I convinced him to go, that I am sure my boyfriend knew what he was doing!

They married 14 months later, and are celebrating their one year anniversary pretty soon too. My boyfriend was the best man, of course

Only couple he has matched, so 100% so far..haha.

I can understand the skepticism though, I would be hesitant too, though I would probably be OPEN to it, just not put any expectations on it.

why not...better than dating sites, no...at least this person know your friend and I'm sure you have some references on both ends. is she charging you a fee? if so, matchmakers should only be paid "if" a match is made. not just for setting you up on a date...but hey, why not? there's nothing to lose, no? than just a few hours and blind date...seems the way to go f0or me. I wish I had a matchmaker friend! good luck

'harmony and others...just seems so...otherworldly! Scary too! That someone could "DO" this for others.

But then again, I've trained dogs for others that didn't have a clue...worked, don't know why, and I'm not a trainer!

Pleez, don't make a comparison between dogs and women...that was just a reference! LOL!!

Definitely do it. If it doesn't work out, you still have a good story. And as a matter of fact, I went out tonight with a complete stranger, a friend of a friend. We were introduced via e-mail by a mutual friend because I've just moved to a new town and I want to meet as many new people as possible. We had a great time, and will be friends at the very least. So I say go for it!
