ycmanvs
My contract ends on Friday. I do not have any work lined up. I have no idea how to relax and not feel like this is the end of the world. I've sent out my resume. I've gone on interviews. It is a bad time of year because everyone is on holiday. Link to comment

It is a tough time of year - but Monday everything changes. The whole world goes back to work on Monday, and they will need people in and right away. January is a great time for getting a job, because all the posts that couldn't be sorted before Christmas will now be available, and you should definitely get something next week. Friday might still be a holiday, but things will be better next week. Just keep focused and upbeat, try not to worry too much because as you know, it's just that time of year. Link to comment

I have to live on credit until I find something, so that is a little scary. I would like to open up my own practice, but without capital, it is nearly impossible to start a business, and health insurance is really expensive. Link to comment
DaDancingPsych
As the previous poster mentioned, the holidays are over and the work world is back on track. Keep trying and hopefully a door will open shortly. In the meantime, to keep some money coming in, have you tried for alternate jobs? I don't know the kind of work you do, but even a part time job in retail would keep some money moving. Have you looked at temp work? One assignment could buy you a few months to get your life in order. Link to comment

I am trying to get hired permanently, but they do not want to pay the agency fee, so now I have to figure out another way to find work. Link to comment
