TheSmilingTurnip Posted December 20, 2007 Posted December 20, 2007 Has anyone here ever done Pampered Chef as a business and how did it work out for you?
Hope75 Posted December 20, 2007 Posted December 20, 2007 I have a few friends that tried it and did not have much success. They threw a few parties hosting their products and not many people came and those who did only bought a few cheap items. It might work better if you know large groups of people who would be willing to come to the parties and buy things.
BellaDonna Posted December 20, 2007 Posted December 20, 2007 I never did it myself but I have gone to a few of the parties. I usually ended up buying some of the cheaper little nifty gadgets they offer- but then again, I am by no means a good "chef" so I don't even know what to do with half of the stuff. Some of the bigger Pampered Chef items, like the pan sets, are really expensive and you probably won't end up selling too many of those. A lot of people do this, but your success all depends on how many people you know and how much money they are willing to spend. I think in general, demonstrations like this are becoming less and less popular over time and have been replaced by online shopping. To be honest, if I wanted a Pampered Chef item now I would probably look on e-bay, since all I would have to do would be a few clicks and it would arrive at my door effortlessly, and for a lower price. With Pampered Chef you have to sit through the party, fill out an order form, and then wait for the order to come in- and potentially be pressured to have your own party. However if you know a bunch of people with some time, and money to spend who love to cook then you might still have a chance of profiting from it. I suppose it can't hurt to try it. BellaDonna
rocio Posted December 20, 2007 Posted December 20, 2007 I know a few women who sell it but have never heard that they made much money at it.
TheSmilingTurnip Posted December 20, 2007 Author Posted December 20, 2007 I have done Mary Kay before and it went pretty well. I am a good salesperson. The problem was sticking with it and continuing to follow up and whatnot. Though Mary Kay is definitely a different animal from Pampered Chef, that's for sure. With PC, I wouldn't have to carry inventory, which you do need inventory with Mary Kay. But I don't know how much time I would have for it. My daughter is special-needs and I am thinking it would be difficult. Although I could easily get sitters and whatnot. I am thinking about it but there will be a lot of thought before I do anything.
