Sorry, I feel like I post BC questions all the time, but...

I'm on my third week of one of my pill packs. I'm going on vacation soon and I was planning on skipping my placebo pills and just starting a new pack, to try and skip my period.

The thing is, I've got my period right now, even though I'm not really "supposed" to because I'm taking the white pills with hormones in them right now.

Normally I'm afraid about skipping periods because I don't want spotting or anything, but I was thinking, if I have my period now, could that mean maybe there's less chance of me spotting when I skip my placebo pills next week, since all the blood's leaving now?

Just a thought. I dunno.

I recall responding to you on another thread.

"Placebo pills" are exactly that. Empty shells with no medicine in them. It makes no difference when your period is, or about spotting or anything else. It makes no difference if you put the placebo pill in your mouth, or throw it in the garbage because they are not real medication.

I know, I understand that. My question was more wondering if I had less chance of spotting if I have breakthrough bleeding now.

Noone can really answer that, everyones body reacts differently.. I have spotted everytime i've skipped the placebo pills and just started taking a new pack.

If you spotted when you skipped the placebo pills, then you would have spotted even if you took the placebo pills because, well, they are placebo pills. They don't do anything help remind you to stay on schedule.

I know this..

I never actually take the placebo pills I Just usually skip the 3 days that I would be taking the placebo pills, What I meant when I posted originally was that I bled even though I skipped the 'break' and started on a new pack. I didn't have a full period like I would have had if I had taken the placebo pills but I did spot.

i think maybe you should talk to a doctor about your Birth Control use... but my advice is just take ALL your pills. dont try to escape your cycle cause its nature! and even if you can some how skip on ur period that DOESNT mean it not there....the reason we bleed is because of a lining and it will build up and build up til it just has to come out and that isnt healthy! that can be VERY HARMFUL! if you take all of ur pills then ur body will learn a schedule and that's alot better then putting ur body in harms way!

Ah, you are skipping the break completely, and immediately going to a new pack. That doesn't sound like something you should be doing, but I'm no OB/GYN.
