so this guy and i were out in a group and this is what happened

everyone else had left and there was just 3 of us. we had a drink, and the next person was about to leave so it would have just been the 2 of us. the guy that i like and me. our friend said are you 2 going or staying and we both hesitated for a minute and then said yeah we are both leaving too. i said it first and then he did too. am i reading too much into this?

Yes you are reading too much into it. Unfortunately, there's not much you can do in that situation. However, if there was a LOT of hesitation, then he was obviously waiting for your response and vice versa.

 

Might of been nice if you had the thought to say "Well, i'd like to stay a bit longer if you do"

 

But i know, in the spur of the moment it's hard to think that quick.

you should have hunkered down 'i dunno, you want to stay? i'm having fun.' you lost out. maybe you will see him again and get that chance again. but if i liked the girl that was there, i'd of stayed.
