scohr Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 I'm supposed to meet this girl around 4 today to study. She said that would probably work for her, but there was a small chance that she would not stay on campus (she lives pretty far away) but she would call if she did leave. I gave her a call at 12:30 b/c my class got canceled and left just a general msg to call me back. Well it's now 4:17 and I've heard no word from her. Should I call? well i called. She was in the library, it wasn't obvious who was supposed to call her i guess... But she left after 1hr Maybe i pissed her off b/c I made her come to where i was studying (at a cafe) but i thought we could talk there. What should I do now? I keep screwing things up and I know she was genuinely interested a few months ago. I want to call her again tomorrow and see if she wants to study, but that will probably look desperate. But I'm sick of doing the whole wait a week to call and all that crap. It's gotten me nowhere, and she seems to respond positively so long as I act interested.
Broken_Doll_ParTs Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 wait til its 4:30 - 5... some girls like to rock up late to everything. If she doesnt show, then call her. Dont call to early.
Daligal83 Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 Wait...were you supposed to wait for her call to go meet her? Or just go meet her at 4 if you haven't heard from her? I can't tell if you're still waiting to go meet her or if you're already there and waiting.
wiser Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 Go to the library or some quiet place and study. If you hear from her, then call her. Otherwise forget it. Give her a call tomorrow and ask her what happened.
scohr Posted December 12, 2007 Author Posted December 12, 2007 well i called. She was in the library, it wasn't obvious who was supposed to call her i guess... wiser Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 She's not going to get pissed off over something like that...well I should say she shouldn't get pissed off over it. With some chicks you never know. I dont see anything wrong about how you handled it, except maybe things weren't discussed conclusively so there was a misunderstanding. As far as waiting..since you didn't bring it up when you called her the second time, give it a couple of days and ask her if she wants to set something up again.
scohr Posted December 12, 2007 Author Posted December 12, 2007 ugh, it seems that way because while I was talking to her on the phone, at first she seemed flirty, but after suggesting she come over to where I was she seemed a bit different. She had that "what's wrong with him" tone of voice and replied with an "umm okay". it just feels like such a rejection to have it end after 1hr, especially since many times when we study, it lasts all day. I'm sick of the whole waiting thing, isn't there some way I can ask her tomorrow?

She had that "what's wrong with him" tone of voice Was it really that inconvenient for her to come where you were? Would it have been just as easy to go to where she was? Did she take it as insult that you wouldnt make the extra effort to go to her? Yeah, you might have actually messed up. Tell her that you thought the cafe would be more fun and conducive to studying and apologize for putting her off, if thats how she felt.
scohr Posted December 12, 2007 Author Posted December 12, 2007 Thing is, when will I have the opportunity to apologize to her about it? Plus it seems like if i wait at least a day or two it would seem weird to apologize about something like that. by the way, thanks so much for talking with me, really appreciate it.
Daligal83 Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 Why don't you call her on Thursday and see if she's free for the weekend. Ask her out on a date.

Not if you play down the apology a bit. Call her in a day or two, ask her for another study session, and mention in an offhand way that you hope she wasn't put off by your suggestion to study at a cafe, and if so, you are sorry.
scohr Posted December 12, 2007 Author Posted December 12, 2007 okay... sadly she screens her calls and probably won't call me back until that night or the next day. I don't want to go all out and ask her on a date and then get screwed and sad and not be able to study for finals. So I was gonna wait until after finals to ask her. I'm hoping to just see if she's free for lunch first...
ghost69 Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 next time you are studying together you should ask to study again.
