SuperSport Posted December 11, 2007 Posted December 11, 2007 The holidays are so depressing for me. I never know what to get people for xmas since i am a terrible shopper, the sun never shines again in the Midwest until April, and now its the end of the semester, and I always have to show my parents my bad grades. Then the holidays is ruined for them too. end rant.
Sweet Buttabean Jellayroll Posted December 11, 2007 Posted December 11, 2007 the hell did you think? holidays dont mean life stops being a bowl of ass. just becomes a decorated bowl of ass..........

ConfusedKitty Posted December 11, 2007 Posted December 11, 2007 the hell did you think? holidays dont mean life stops being a bowl of ass. just becomes a decorated bowl of ass.......... Best part is, my brain literally pictured a glass bowl, with an ass in it. Then, I pictured the same glass bowl, with the ass in it, with some tinsel and a small wreath. Then I laughed, and made others look at me funny. But let me tell you what, I don't celebrate Xmas, I'm pagan. My freakin holiday isn't even recognized, so take this with a grain of salt. The past 3 months my bf has been sick and unable to work. I've had to cover all of my bills + rent + utilities on my own and I don't make a lot. This month, we almost were evicted because of some charges put on my account accidentally that the bank has to "investigate". My car was about to be paid off until these charges happened, making my payment not go through, and fees and such add up to make me have yet another payment due. Cable is about to get cut off, I hope we have electricity when I get home, gas is about to get cut off, my car needs an oil change (it's almost to the point where I get that "feeling" that the engine is going to lock up), I hope I can pay insurance this month, I've had to borrow money from my Scrooge mother, and with him going back and forth to the hospital I haven't been able to take care of my own problems, which require me going to the doctor. So how do I feel about Xmas this year? "They" (the stores who market crap for Xmas) can shove it. So instead of giving people expensive gifts, do you know what I"m doing? I'm drawing portraits of things (me and my brother, my boss' recently deceased cat, Godzilla that my brother loves) and sending them to people. I have the utilities here and the talent so why not. Plus, it means more than some crap they can go out and buy themselves. Do something that's cheap, but full of love. Get better grades. Screw the weather, it's the weather.
AhypnoticSuggestion Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 Jesus wasn't born in December, and there is no Santa Claus. Family togetherness? Yeah, okay. Sure. If gifts, or to be put more cynically, bribes, weren't given on Christmas, then this little tradition would have ended a long time ago for most families. Christmas is a sham of a holiday and all it represents to me is a dollar sign. Leave it for the kids.
ConfusedKitty Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 Just enjoy being with your family, and enjoy the looks of happiness on little kids faces.
