He Lied to Me

My boyfriend and I have been together for 2.5 years. Our relationship has been based on love and trust...as far as I knew. We've never had any problems with infidelity. But today, I caught sight of some messages being posted on a Facebook wall between him and a girl he'd gone to elementary school with. He told her that he was "on a break up with his current girlfriend" - that would be me. We are not on a break and when I confronted him about this, he said he did not want to go on a break nor did he want to break up. And that, in fact, the message had not been about me at all and that I was missing context. He claimed that he'd been talking about a situation in the past in which he'd gone on a break with an old girlfriend.

 

I don't believe him but it's his word against mine. He says he doesn't know how else to prove it to me besides with his words.

 

I don't know what to do. . I trust him in general because he has never given me reason not to but the story makes no sense.

Hmmm... well... first, what kind of a genius posts messages like that on a wall knowing perfectly well you would see them?

 

I don't like his excuse. You're right, it makes no sense. It's a lame excuse and blame shift (why don't you trust me? I don't know what to do to get you to trust me.)

wouldn't that girl want current news on the current gf?

This is why I hate Facebook, Myspace, and the other sites. Some people use it like a second life. I agree with everyone else, he's lying.

yep he is lying... 100% blatantly.

 

sounds liek he wants a bit of female attention and thinks he will get it if he tells them he is on a break with you.

 

if he was talking about an ex then why did he put his CURRENT GF.... he is insulting your intelligence by trying to tell yuo he meant an ex after putting current and knowing yuo saw it with your own eyes

 

grrrr i have been goign through similar things so i know exactly how you feel, it drives me mental. they will do and say anything to justify themselves when really they are talking utter POO and even try n twist yuor mind to make yuo think you imagined it or are going crazy.
