coffee...and ur.....appetite??

I don't drink coffee so can't speak from personal experience, but I know of women who for instance go thru their days drinking coffee and smoking cigs, not really eating much.

So I guess the coffee must curb their appetite.

Maybe coffee is sorta like tea. It fills you up a bit more then water b/c it has flavor, milk, etc. But I would stay away from too much coffee, since it stains teeth. Try green tea.

I think coffee increases my appetite but I could be completely weird too =) I think the caffeine has a stimulant effect that makes me want to eat. I love my coffee too much though

Caffeine is the real chemical that should be in question, not just coffee. For some people it is an appetite stimulant, caffeine stimulates the nervous system and is essentially a chemical stressor, stress can cause many reactions in people, one of which is eating.

coffee isn't all bad. having a cup of coffee in the mornings can actually be good for you and, yes, it can decrease your appetite. Just remember to eat a small snack because it's not good to go long periods without eating, even if your body doesn't feel hungry.

I heard too much caffeine causes cellulite too. Can't remember the reason behind it. SOrry a bit off topic but related to caffeine...

edit:

Caffeine. Although drinking caffeine seems to increase cellulite--probably by impairing circulation and lymph flow--topical application can reduce fat content in cells by blocking phosphodiesterase, an enzyme that inhibits fat breakdown. Caffeine may be listed on ingredient labels as caffeine, kola nut, tea or green tea.

Cellulite is determined by skin types, its genetic. The structure of the connective tissue between the muscle and the surface of the skin causes dimples, caffeine doesn't effect the connective tissues, and if it had an effect on the skin, it would only be for a short duration.

If you drink coffee in moderation 1-2 cups a day, I wouldn't really worry about it. If you find you really can't put any food down because of it, then I would definetly start to worry.

I love eating fruits with coffee, I just cannot explain it. Maybe try eating your breakfast at the same time as you drink the coffee? =)

It really curbs my appetite. I drink two cups instead of one if I don't anything in the room to eat. It keeps me from feeling like I don't have anything in my stomach. Like others have said don't use it to lose weight.
