How to build her self esteem

Been dating a woman for a few month now, she was in an abusive relationship before me and seems to suffer from low self esteem sometimes. She is a beautiful outgoing woman and its hard to understand how she could be so down on herself sometimes.

 

What are good ways to build a woman self esteem without sounding fake?

I've always found that belief in her is very effectictive. For Example, if she is working on a project or something, you being very confident in the fact that she will succeed and do really well with it boosts their own self belief. When she says something like "oh, im gonna screw this up" really try to be positive. Reply with "I really think you will do well with it" or something....crap examples really, but you get the idea

I would say be very complimentary towards her and tell her how much you appreciate things that she does for you...even little things. Also, follow through on your words with actions. Actions do speak louder than words. Do nice, spontaneous things for her ~ buy her flowers once in a while for no reason, make her dinner...just show her how much she means to you by doing little things for her and by keeping your promises. Her trust level is probably not so good right now, just reassure her now and then how much you like her and that you are there for her. Like I said, she is probably hyper-sensitive when it comes to trusting men, so make sure you follow through on your promises and always keep your word. And be patient...the abuse she suffered has had a major impact on her and depending on how deep the wounds are, it may take a while to get her to trust you 100%.
