Books to help w/ coping from a break up

Recommended Posts

Does anyone have any suggestions on books that helped you cope through your break up?

I feel like all I am doing these days to fill up my time is reading and trying to better myself and get over this, but it is still a slow process, as I know it will be.

Right now I am reading "Living Fearlessly" which is a pretty good "self-help" book, but it is hard to apply to my life right now because I am so unsure about myself and my feelings. I also bought "Its called a break up because its broken", which might have helped me a bit at first, but it didnt go too deep.

Any suggestions?

I have read:

1) "The Grief Recovery Handbook: A Step-By-Step Program for Moving Beyond Loss" -- don't recommend this one

2) "How to Heal a Broken Heart in 30 Days: A Day-by-Day Guide to Saying Good-bye and Getting On With Your Life" -- this had a few good tidbits

3) "Moving On: Dump Your Relationship Baggage and Make Room for the Love of Your Life" -- reading this now and like it so far

4) "Mars and Venus Starting Over: A Practical Guide for Finding Love Again After a Painful Breakup, Divorce, or the Loss of a Loved One" -- will read this next

Reading does help, but I've found that you can spend too much time reading and thinking about the loss rather than trying to move on with certain areas of your life. It takes balancing the two -- please work on yourself, but also live your life while you're doing it. Don't spend the whole weekend at home by yourself reading...
