I just found out that I "might" lose my job in January. I have been a temp here for almost 2 years.

nope, my official contract ended more than a year ago, but they liked me so they asked me to stay on....i am not even sure if i should be worried, but i hate not knowing.

they told me they would have an answer for me by friday....now i have to be anxious for the whole week.

I would relax and focus your energies into job searching. You don't have to jump ship, but start learn what opportunities may exist for you.

 

If the worst should happen, see if you can get your supervisor to write you a letter of recommendation. Explain that you are obviously going to need to work and whatever help that you can get would be great!

It's not that simple. I know I can find a job as an assistant anywhere, but I am an attorney, so I would really like to work in that field.

So, I have an interview next week. Also, the contract ends at the end of the month.

Nothing, it was a contract and it expired and when they offered me a permanent job last year, I said NO because I want to work in my field.
