How many of you have been dumped because your significant other was in love with someone else? And how many of you have got back together after they realized they made a huge mistake?

Like a fool I took her back. Things were never the same though... So we broke up again, at my instigation. I still miss her though...

I'm feeling like this one will stick. Wish things would have worked out. I miss him terribly. I think getting back together isn’t always wise. We missed each other so much that we got the "butterflies" all over again in feb. of 05' but quickly went back to the turbulent troubles that plagued us before, then it was dragged out for another 2 and 1/2 years... we were on auto-pilot. And yes I would take him back in a heart beat! WAH!!!! lol!!!

There are the odd success stories on here but the trouble is that lots of people break up but the problem that drove them apart in the first place is seldom worked on. They get back together but that same problem drives them apart again. My experience of success stories on here are far more about people getting over their failed relationship and getting themselves healthy and ready for the next one. I know that there are always exceptions to this but they seem few and far between. Just my experience from on here. Mark

My recent ex wife has NOT done this and it's been about a year now. I suspect she never will, but IF she did, I'm afraid I've seen too much of life without her to ever want her back... Is that you in your avatar? If so then I'm not surprised they want you back. I'm a total straight guy (not that there's anything wrong with that) but I'm like woah, questioning my orientation here. Ok too much information.

I think my ex wife was shallow enought to have stayed with me if I did look like thim though! Oh, I know that guitarist! He rocks. You have to admit, he's got the look though. Left someone for someone else and then realized that I loved my gf. There are plenty of successes but this is a breakup forum so the successes for the most part wont be here. Dont lose faith. BE strong, love yourself , live for YOURSELF and you will find what you seek

At the first of this year, (2007) just after new years actually my significant other decided she was better off without me and dumped me over the phone and moved in with another guy within a day or two. 5 months later, I received a call after getting off of work. It was her. We got back together and have going strong since then. I've never posted on here before but I wanted to give people some form of hope. But I hesitate to say this though. I fully never expected to get back together with her. But wonders never cease.

How the hell do people justify phone breakups?? ahh... i have been broken up with twice over msn. dunno, doesnt make much of a diffrence vs breaking up in person. the initial shock always hits the next day or after the convo has ended and that is when all the questions start popping intoyou head being the dumpee. oh i have ended dating with a guy over msn.. he wasnt my bf though.
