Moto
My thoughts today... I am alone tonight, rather bored... Going to go get a coffee in a few and probably smoke half a pack of cigarettes in the process and write some lyrics to a melody I've been playing in my head... To see if it's worth the composition effort. One day out of the week with nothing to do and I find myself at a loss hah! Not depressed, just REALLY freaking bored... I am Dmitri Karamazov, and the world is my father. Oh, I also have finally figured out what tattoo I want, and that I want it on the back of my neck so I have to find the perfect image now... Which will be hard! Link to comment

bobsiesprincess
my thoughts today so far...... i dont want to go to uni. i feel so alone among so many people. my life is a mess. how can my ex be out all the time having so much fun as if the last 2 years meant nothing to him?? oh no the weekends coming up again i just want this to all go away Link to comment
butterflyx0
what I'm thinking right now.... I'm really tired, because I've been working all week and this weekend I'm in my cousin's wedding and I have a lot of schoolwork due. I'm kinda stressed. I'm missing my ex this morning, don't know why. I tried to re-read that "The Loser" article, and yes, my ex did mostly all of that stuff to me in there...so it's frustrating that I'm still thinking about him and I'm still feeling guilty- because I know he believes in his head that he did nothing wrong. I'm going to be in a wedding on what I think will be his one month anniversary with the new girl. I'm trying not to let this ruin the experience, but it's hard. I miss all my friends who are far away, and I can't wait for them to come home. hopefully i cheer up as the day goes on.... Link to comment
bubblyblonde11
^^^^Hey Butterfly you take care and enjoy the wedding nice food, good dance, free champers and probably some nice ushers too dance with too^^^^ Happy to be going on holiday - hating my ex but missing having someone a little too - miss being loved and loving Link to comment

EricAK
At present I wm thinking: How crazy our weather is. We started the morning with clear blue skies and no wind and are now finishing our day with a winter storm warning and getting ready for driving winds. BORED out of my mind tonight. Trying to figure out new things to do to keep from getting premature cabin fever. Deciding if I should call the WAY too young for me woman I had a date with last night to see if she wants to "hang out" tonight. All of a sudden I feel like I am living a bad Jimmy Buffett song, chasing younger women and drinking like a frat boy. Yoiks! Realizing that if I were a professional football star, from the time I farted while sitting at my desk until the time I noticed the stench, I would have made $37,463. I chose the wrong career path. Thinking of having a fire in the ol' fireplace, sipping a glass of nice Cabernet, listening to the winds pummel the windows and house, and just kicking back. Mellow thoughts and a mellower night. lpsworld
I'm just thinking how to make a lot more money! and what I should do with the girl I'm dating right now, whom I'm not really into? you know how it is when you are on the rebound! link removed Link to comment
sara1
lpsworld, The reboundworld that's an interesting concept for some. ErikAk, winter storm, yikes! Ha, "way too young women"... Link to comment
EricAK
sara, I know, sheesh, I feel like a letch or something (or dirty old man) and I am NOT that old!!! But she is *ahem* considerably younger than I. Reality of the situation is geography. She is here. I am here. It is fall/winter and there are VERY few people around. So, we are hanging out. In a town of 800 VERY isolated people you have to "shift your paradigm" so to speak! (And when I talk about CD's I am talking about investment accounts, she is talking about the latest Foo Fighters CD. Cross cultural communication taking place!) Eric Link to comment
lpsworld
I know, I love the concept! I didn't think it was a positive thing until I read what's it about! Very interesting! The only thing is they haven't launched their site yet so I'm just trying to spread out the word for them and recruit some rebounders for them and myself! hahaha... we need more sites like this one and link removed! They really help us move on from our break ups! reboundersworld-it's time to bounce back! (let's all bounce back guys!) Link to comment
sara1
ErikAK, I was going to ask how old are these girls, but realized it was probably too personal. Btw, how cold does the winter temps get there? My good friend from college grew up in AK and talked about how they would weeks without seeing the sun. On the winter note, are there good ski destinations near you? lspsworld, I should send that link to my ex, ha. He told me he thought he was on the "rebound" and was "using me", the first to connect with emotionally after his ex. ehhh! I still want to sheirk at the sound of those words. eh. There have been two guys that have expressed interest in going out and I'm thinking I should really make more of an effort. Right now i don't really mind staying in tonight. Link to comment
sara1
ErikAK, Ha, Ha, nice signature. I really need to get more creative with mine. so that means Hello Kitty, young. Link to comment

I'm also dating a girl right now and I'm positive that i'm on the rebound myself. but i did tell her that i just broke up with someone a couple months ago. she's also on the rebound because her ex just died in August in a car accidence. so at least we both know what to expect from each other. EricAK
The age difference...let's just say that if I had been procreating when I was 19 she could be my daughter today...YOIKS! Ski destinations, skiing is my reason for being on this planet! You ski? You single? Lessee here...Chicago to Alaska...about 3000 miles...hmm...DARN! The absolute best backcountry skiing in the WORLD is right out my front door. Seriously. Between Haines (the next town over) and here, there are two heli-ski operations and one cat-ski operation. No lifts or ski areas around here! And if you go the free-heal route it is earn your turns galore! Ya gotta CLIMB the Mountains to ski back down 'em! But we use helis quite a bit as well as skinning up the hills. But the kicker is, you get WHOLE Mountains to yourself and your buds and nothing but fresh tracks in chest deep pow-pow! It is DREAMY! Winter temps here are pretty mild. In January we may see a week or two of minus 5 or ten. But it averages around 15. As for darkness, we are just a few minutes below 60degrees latitude and on paper it shows we should have around 6:45 hours of daylight. Thing is, my little town is in a valley surrounded by Mountains, and on winter solstice we have clocked the amount of DIRECT sun we get at around 45 minutes. The sun never really comes over the Mountains. Add in the omnipresent grey, overcast, low ceiling of clouds whcih can settle in for a couple weeks a t a time and it can be a VERY dark and hard place between mid-November and mid-January. And if we do want ski lifts, we can always head down to ski Eaglecrest on Douglas Island. If you can ski Eaglecrest you can ski ANYWHERE! All double fall-line, off camber lines, with TONS of tree skiing and off piste skiing. And if we don't want to ferry for 7 hours to go to Eaglecrest or take a bush flight, we can drive a couple hours to Whitehorse and ski Mt. SIma (which is a pretty wimpy little hill, but it is fun for a day to burn a bunch of groomers.) So WHADDYA WAITING FOR!!! Get outta the windy city and come ski here! You will never go back to resort skiing and look at it the same way once you get a few days of heli-skiing here! Eric Link to comment
EricAK
And OH MY GOD...these pictures are so funny I almost soiled myself while looking at them. Even now I am sitting here gigglin' like an idiot and near soiled. Nice imagery eh, me soiled and gigglin' like an idiot. Anway, these are WAY too funny. link removed Eric Link to comment
sara1
Haa, that's funny! 19?? wow. Near heli-skiing, huh? No ski lifts? Tree skiing? Ferry for 7 hours to go skiing? Wheeeeeh! I would probably kill myself the first day! How many runs do you get in a day? How much distance do you climb? What's the altitude? I remember when I stayed in Wyoming, some guys would hike for about 4 hours to ski on some powder at the top of the Tetons in July. We found these stories to be greatly amusing but never made the trip in the summer months. 4 hour hike to ski down?? Skiing sounds fun now! I was just thinking today that I need to plan a ski trip this winter. When is the best month for skiing there? Link to comment
sara1
I wonder how much skiing would put into the advance level? I'll move there and become a ski instructor. That was fallback plan after college if my internship didn't work out. Link to comment

sara1
Oh buggers and I was already starting to pack!! I suppose it's too early for dog mushing too? Argh! Reference to Northern Exposure is very funny!! I used to watch that show religiously. My friend would come over for it weekly. Luved the whole sage between the eastcoast, jewish doctor and the strong, debutante, helicoptor pilot. Oye, The Big Crush! Very funny to think about now. What happened to those actors anyway? Isn't Haines supposed to be the one of the most beautiful cities in Alaska? I'm contemplating some changes myself so it would be good to travel, get away soon. My remaining two weeks of vacation doesn't technically carry over to the new year. Perhaps I visit my cousin who is dying for me to visit their new home overseas. With their whole family i'm not sure how much a vacation it would be realistically. Link to comment
EricAK
Rob Morrow is still acting. He was in a few movies. Janine Turner did a BAD Stallone movie a few years back called Cliffhanger (which didn't have a SHRED of reality where Mountaineering was concerned!) and the guy who played Chris, the radio dude, was in the Fat Greek Wedding Movie. Yes grasshopper...change is good! Haines is pretty for sure, but the town is funky as hell. My town is MUCH better (of course!) and we share the same Mountains. There is a standing joke about haines (and undertsand that I am just to the left of liberal in my politics and life philosophy) which is: Why did the hippy move to Haines? Heard there was no work there! *rimshot* Eric Link to comment
