Shed some light on this subject

Hi everyone,

 

I'm new to this forum, but I have been reading some threads and all of you seem to have very in-depth comments. I'm hoping some of you have some comments for me that might shed some light on this subject.

 

First off, I'd like to mention to you I'm Asian...to be exact I'm Chinese. I was raised in small city in Canada so I didn't have much exposure to my culture besides what my parents taught me and what I saw on tv/movies.

 

So all my life I have been around other ethnicity more then Asians. I am more attracted to Caucasians then any other ethnicity cause where I grew up, and what I can't understand is why most girls can't seem to see past the surface of me being Chinese.

 

I've had girls in the past that showed interest in me, but I was oblivious to it. I would then find out 6 mths...to a year down the road that they showed interest in me.

 

What I am more or less asking is...any suggestions on what can be done? I've read some threads about shyness but I can relate to some of the threads written but not all.

It's maybe not so much shyness as not being able to read signals ... unfortunately, girls are raised to be subtle in expressing interest (any girls reading this ... just STOP it already for pity's sake ... all you are doing is giving an advantage to players).

 

You are spending too much time worrying that the fact that you look Chinese may make you less attractive to caucasian girls ... even if it's true, don't assume it.

Oh I'm not spending too much time worry bout that fact. I'm just stating with my past experience it just seemed to be like that. I was wondering if others see it like that.

 

Like from what I see all around, I don't see many asian men with non-asian girls...much or at all for that matter.

 

If I dwelled on that issue a lot, I would say someone take a bat and hit me accross the head to put me out of my misery.

Man, I even laugh at myself and just make fun of my ethnicity sometimes.

 

There are days I do wonder why girls shy away from people who are of a different ethnic background...like how are we so different that we can be friends but nothing more and yet you can date a someone who treats you like an object, and blah blah blah blah...you get the picture....
