Don't Know what to do after the break up.

Me and my ex-boyfriend of 11 months broke up about 6 months ago. And I am currently dating someone else. But my ex treated my like crap! But when we were first dating he was perfect. Now all I do is think of the good times. ANd i've tried thinking of the bad times. But nothing works. And I dont want to lose the one that i am with now. I just want to stop thinking about my ex. Specially since he is moved on from me.

Please just give me some advice.

Maybe making a list of all the awful things he did to you and reading it over will help. Also, exercising, treating yourself with kindness, eating right and getting plenty of rest helps.

 

And you have to be honest with yourself- if you are constantly thinking of an ex than you are probably not ready to be dating someone else.

 

Think of it from your new guy's shoes- would you want your boyfriend to be constantly thinking of his ex while he was with you?

No I deffiantly wouldnt want him thinking that. But i only start thing about him when something he did/we did that makes me think about him again.

 

He was very overprotective. and did everything in his power to boss me around. i did so much for him. and he still treated me like crap/

You really do need to stop thinking about ur ex, unless of course u want to lose the bloke who ur with now.

 

Just remember "U dont know what u've got until its gone" - ur fella not ur ex who treated u like nutin

There is a technic I was tought to stop negative thoughts perhaps you can try as its dead simple.

 

When you think of him, shout either out loud or in your head really loudly - STOP and also visualise a massive STOP sign (like the road ones) coming up right infront of your face while your shouting STOP.

 

Try it, it does help.

definitely in your head if you are down the shops - LOL!
