Does this woman actually present some sort of danger to your child that you would require supervised visitation?

Why did you write Suicide is painless in the title

They wrote it 7 years ago. It is unlikely you will get an answer.

It's nice that your prayers are with him RighteousWeed but this thread is 6 years old and the OP has not been back.

I don't know if anyone else noticed these things, but Rainman only had two posts ever, in this thread, which was back on march 11, 2004. I'm pretty sure he actually went through with killing himself.

The fact he did not return to the forum does not mean he went through with it. People post and then never return here all the time.

Hopefully the OP has figured out the problem as this thread is nearly 6 years old.

Avman- I read the part about sentencing and almost fell out of my chair. I am an intern for Judge Warren in Oakland. Whoa... I was not in session for this case, but there was a great deal of talk about it. Judge Warren is an extremely fair and smart man. I am glad he was given this case.

 

Very very small world- and I am extremely sorry to hear about this loss. This is certainly not the way I wish to connect to fellow ENA'ers.

 

60% of murdered women are murdered by their SO. This is a statistic people need to know about! It is repulsive and so very tragic.

 

Do NOT put up with abuse. There is help somewhere.

Well that's a strange coincidence! But it is a small world I suppose.

I don't know much about the judge but I'm glad to hear you think very favorably about him. I'll bet Tami's family appreciated him throughout the trial.

I wrote the police chief of Novi, Michigan thanking him for his efforts over the years. He wrote back a very nice note talking about what the case meant to him and his department. I think it affected him deeply not being able to solve it and prosecute for so long.

I'm happy to be able to put to rest who killed Tami although I still mourn her loss. I am glad she has a daughter that will live on. A piece of her is still alive.

And now, justice is finally served. Daniel Pittao has been sentenced to life without parole for his crime. Even the judge called him a coward.

From the Observer Newspaper on 11/13/2008:

Oakland County Circuit Court Judge Michael Warren sentenced Daniel Pittao last Thursday afternoon to mandatory life in prison without parole for the 1997 murder of his estranged wife, Tamara Pittao.

The sentence was delivered 15 years to the day after he married his wife, then Tamara Pindar.

In orange jail garb, Pittao stood in a packed Oakland County courtroom and professed his innocence before his sentencing, saying he looked forward to seeing his freedom once the case was appealed.

"I wasn't there and I did not cause this," he told Judge Warren.

But Tamara's father, Robert Pindar, had strong words for his former son-in-law. Calling Pittao "selfish and cowardly," Pindar said, "You have no soul."

They were in the middle of a divorce, and Pittao had been charged with physically assaulting her. Before he was led away, Warren said, "The defendant shows no accountability or remorse, which is what we expect from cowards."

Pittao, 49, of Highland Township was found guilty of first-degree, premeditated murder Oct. 14.

"We met with the family and still my heart aches for them, but I believe this provides a bit of closure for them," Novi Police Chief David Molloy said following the Oct. 14 verdict. "We still have other open cases, but in the last couple of decades, it's one of the longest running cases we've had."

That is expected brwnidgirl. A person convicted of murder will always appeal their case. He'll be appealing the verdict for a long time, but he'll be doing it from prison. And that's the key. He's going to get a life sentence so he isn't going to have anything else to do.

But just because he appeals doesn't mean anything is going to change. It is still time to rejoice!

Yes. We were classmates throughout high school. And our families liked the same restaurants for Sunday morning breakfast so I would bump into her pretty frequently there too.

It does not bring her back but at least this man will never be able to bring harm to anyone else.

Um this thread is 5 years old now. I would imagine the situation has resolved itself.

The Anonymous account isn't actually linked to a real person. Way, way back on the forum when an account got deleted it switched their posts to "Anonymous". So you can't look back through the Anonymous account to get any kind of story. It's a mishmash of old posts.

Well as promised I have been following the trial of the murder closely. Sadly, the trial ended on Friday Feb 8, 2008 with a hung jury. So there has been a mistrial and everyone will have to go through it all again.

Anyone who is still involved in an abusive relationship should leave immediately. I know it is hard but you must be strong and get out while you still can. My friend left too late and her husband may never truly be punished. But it is not too late for you.

But remember, the party with the hot commodity is the one who calls the shots.

If you are Joe Average, with average skills that a million other people have - and you apply to company MegaMart who happens to have a job for someone with average skills, then you are screwed. And that is because they have the job, and lots of people want it. You have nothing unique to offer them over 100 other people who want the same job. That company is going to pick someone that:

1. Doesn't cost them much money
   
2. Works hard and
   
3. Won't cause them problems

If you come into an interview with an attitude and you tell the interviewer "you can't tell me what to do because I don't conform to stupid corporate rules" then they are simply going to pick someone else that doesn't act like that. And they'll do that because they can.

Now lets say instead that a company has a need for a highly specialized person who knows about Whizzbang Methods. You happen to be one of only 10 people in the world who know all about Whizzbang. Well guess who's in the drivers seat now? You are! Because you have something unique and special that the company wants. So you could walk into an interview and pretty much demand anything you wanted (within certain reason) and they would be much more willing to put up with any attitude or eccentricities that you have. And that is because they can't just call in the next job applicant and get what they want.

This is the way the game is played. You can either let it beat you, or you can learn how to turn things to your own advantage. After all, most all of us are somewhere in the middle of the two extreme examples I listed above. We aren't SO unique that we can just walk in and demand the world, but we aren't totally average either. Everybody has some set of skills they can use to their advantage. And I mean EVERYBODY.

You need to learn what your unique skillset is and then go out and find employers who are looking for those skills. Then you have the advantage because you have something special to offer them over and above all the other candidates they might talk to. So you will stand out. And employers will respond very favorably to that.

I am not saying become a mindless corporate drone. You do not have to give up your individuality. I am saying play the game to your advantage.

If you are a non conformist that can just about convince anyone that your position is right by wearing them down until they cave - well then you'd probably be an excellent political activist, or a merger and acquisitions specialist, or perhaps a sales manager for a company looking to break into the market with a completely unique product like noone has ever seen before. But you'd probably make a lousy customer service representative.

See what I mean about playing the game to your advantage? Seek out those opportunities that play into your skillset and don't try to force fit yourself into trying to be someone you really aren't.

I wouldn't beat yourself up too much. A single 60 minute presentation is indeed too long for children of that age. The teacher gave you some excellent feedback - shorten the total presentation and things will go much smoother.

Also, it is not a reflection of your abilities that the students had to be reminded to pay attention and listen. That is a fact of life with students of that age and this is why every teacher develops their own unique way of refocusing their class. Some use claps, some count down, some do an "eyes on me", etc.

The teacher and the presenter work as a team. Indeed the teacher will be the traffic cop and keep the class directed. So it sounds like all of your worked very well together.

With practice, you'll feel more comfortable in front of a class and it will seem to go much smoother. Relax and have fun with it. If you are having fun, the students will have fun too.

That must have taken a lot of courage to write that JJ. Hopefully it helped you to get that out into the open.

Some people here will react with anger, but it's not directed at you. It's anger that someone would take advantage of you in that way. So if you see frustration in some people's posts - it's really stemming from being mad at your uncle and what he did.
