  1. Thank you. That's very kind of you, jahur. It's always inspirational to hear encouragement from pros like you. You can tell that I had a bit of a motion blur from camera shake as the background is somewhat distorted - but it helped that the background is also bokeh.
  2. Minimal ps involved - just contrasting and sharpening and cloning of a dust on the upper left hand corner - that's all. jahur, that is the original format of the photo with no cropping at all. I think I was moving my hand that the far petal got cut off.
  3. Thank you jahur. That means a lot coming from someone who does this professionally. I've just been reading and learning on my own through trial and error. I might consider photography as a third career and even go back to the class room when time permits. Heck, if I have time to go out and shoot, I have time to be in the class room.
  4. Or the plates shift and Hawaii caves into the sea. LoL
  5. Oops, meant to say thank you, not that you. LoL When time and finance permit. No rush, Hawaii will still be there.
  6. you. LoL I took that, yes, and it was taken at Hanauma Bay, Hawaii.
  7. Uhm - no. I like being behind not in front of the camera.
  8. I have something for you two water lovers. image removed Enjoy!
  9. Didn't we learn anything today? That stretching something blurs it?
  10. Of course, all photos get blurry when they are enlarged.
  11. Nice, Mutley. The image is still good quality considering it came from a camera phone.
  12. jahur, yes, a Nikon, but just the D40. I recently picked up on photography like 5 months ago and never before had any photographing experience. I've played with a point and shoot, but that was about it. DSLR is a new whole ball game for me. I photograph mostly nature, flowers, and the sorts. Initially, I started out as a hobbyist, a way to relieve stress. But I've gotten a few comments from people that I should pursue it professionally. Oh, what I would give to be a photojournalist! Are you just a hobbyist or do you photograph professionally?
  13. Thanks jahur! You've got a great collection. image removed Nestled at the foot of a mountain and overlooking a sleepy town is this replica of a 12th Century Buddhist Temple situated in a Memorial Park.
  14. Thanks for sharing jahur. My favorite is the single red poppy amongst the grass. Wolf, I like the white peacock. I've never seen a white peacock before. Wouldn't it be amazing if you had taken one with his spread? I was at a Lantern Floating Festival yesterday. Though I'd share a photo from the event. image removed
  15. I like this one - it's very abstract. I lie the blue and white contrast.
  16. image removed My digital impression of Monet's Nympheas Series.
  17. Oh, yes...thanks - it worked this time. Thank you very much!
  18. image removed Spending Mother's Day at the beach. This lovely family spend their day at the beach. While the dad stayed on dry land, the mom and her adorable kids played and splashed in the ocean. I love photographing people when they don't know that I have my camera pointing at them. It gives the image a sense of realism; something that is not posing or acting.
