Just a little poem I wrote in early March.
------
I planted a tree today.
Spring flowers blossom with just one can.
Thick and billowing branches cast a shadow in the falling sun.
The tree I've planted- thick and strong.
Thorns fall from the tree.
Silky green of spring fails to winter's dull brown.
Buds jump to lick a dry air.
The tree I've planted- famished of love.
Barren twigs fall from the tree.
Past leaves blanket death.
A poor man's brown.
The tree I've planted- dead and gone.
