  1. Several on the go, but predominantly it appears to be The Hagakure, translated by William Scott Wilson. This being a condensed version of the almost three hundred-year-old collection of texts that summarise Bushido, the chivalry-esque concept of the samurai warrior class of old Japan, primarily through the commentaries of the reclusive samurai Yamamoto Tsunetomo. A thought-provoking read.
  2. Intelligent. I'd have to be able to have good conversations with my girl. Mutual physical attraction. I'd have to find her attractive, she'd have to find me attractive. Sense of humour. We'd have to be able to laugh together. You know what? That will do for me.
  3. Lol Seriously though, some of those ghost shows are so obviously fake. We have one over here called "Most Haunted", I don't know if that translates in the States... anyway, it features this guy who claims to be some sort of psychic medium who is able to talk to spirits on camera. He goes into "trances". He also has to be the biggest phony on the planet.
  4. Seconded. I believe in ghosts, but I have no time for TV shows about "ghosts".
  5. Brilliant, sarey. Very emotional.
  6. Doh, I never noticed that. Lol. Oh well let us hope that he's found what he was looking for....
  7. I can relate, and them some Depressed 25 year old virgin, who's never dated. "You are not alone"
  8. Poetry is ambiguous, sarey. Most of the time. I like what you write... it means something very special to me. Something that's completely different to the reasons why you wrote it, I dare say.
  9. Too bad 99.9*% of girls think otherwise. In real life, at least.
  10. I'm an ugly guy too. I feel repulsive, vile, revolting... I hate looking at photos of me, I hate looking in the mirror, I hate hearing the sound of my voice... et cetera. Pretty girls only talk to me in bars and what have you to be polite (as we might have mutual friends). If I glance at them for more than two seconds, they look away in horror. They'd rather gaze at my handsome (male) friends. I've never been flirted with my entire life. It seems to be reserved for beautiful people. Life is wonderful, isn't it?
  11. In a situation like this you can't bet on being safe; myself coming from the extreme end of the spectrum, I've been there many times, played it safe, and subsequently lost a potential girlfriend/date. If you've given her a present, a watch, then presmably you know her well enough, or are at least comfortable enough around her, to do something like that. So... initiate a casual conversation with her somehow. Or just flat out ask her out. I know it's easier said than done but if it's something you have to do then just do it
  12. When I was younger (in my teens, 14-19) I used to have lucid dreams, in that I was consciously aware that I was dreaming and I could take control of something. I also used to have some variants of sleep paralysis. Also I used to have short bouts of sleep (5-10 mins max) where I'd dream that I was falling or something, and I'd wake up with a jolt (don't know what the technical definition for this is). However I no longer have any of these occurrences... Don't know what that means in itself though lol.
  13. Kevin T: after viewing your PM I can say that frankly you don't have jack **** to worry about in the looks department, man. Why you're depressed over the way you look is beyond my understanding, compared to what other guys have to put up with (obesity, crippling acne, bad hair problems et cetera). Do your self a favour and Google some images of male celebrities/famous guys of various descriptions and you'll find that many you'll be able to equate to... In fact, as soon as I get some new batteries for my digi camera (stuck at home with a cold atm, feeling especially miserable, can't be bothered to go to the store I'm going to put up some pics of myself to pose you the same question, sort of. EDIT: Apologies if the above came over a little harsh, but I do get rather angry when people (both male and female) without any obvious physical traits that would deem them 'ugly' complain about the way they look. God knows, someone said the same thing to me once and it made me reevaluate my own body image...
  14. By "she" I assume that you assumed I was implying something about what to do on a date? No, I just meant a might out with your buddies... unless you have plutonic (spelling I know, it's late) girl friends?
  15. Your depression in general would certainly lift a little, yeah. If you don't drink then stick to soft drinks, perfectly acceptable.
  16. If I understand your current state of mind (which, btw, sounds spookily like mine was for quite a time up until recently): Force yourself into your local bar/favourite social hotspot, and have a drink or two with a few friends. Whether there's female presense and they're interested in you is irrelevant. Don't get me wrong, I probably spend way too much time on the Internet too, but one has to get things in balance.
