  1. So I enjoyed shopping at Claire's (and Icing) for cute accessories and so when I was in their store they had a hiring sign. I decided to apply online later because I enjoy shopping there and am great with fashion. The manager got back to me saying they thought I'd be a great candidate and if I could do an interview. We set up an interview and I arrive at the scheduled date and time. When I arrive another employee says the manager is not even in today because something came up and calls the manager who tells me to call her for a phone interview later, which I do and there is no response. Later they contact me to apologize and schedule another phone interview which I respond and don't hear from them again and then they finally contact me for the phone interview. Everything goes well and the position looks promising. I give them the benefit of the doubt for their prior behavior and accept the position. They send the offer letter in an email and I end up starting at my agreed start date. We talk about my schedule and the whole time the manager is like just choose whatever hours you want. I ask about training procedures and she shows me a few things and says everything's fine. I literally don't even work two weeks and one day the manager sends a random text saying I don't think this position is a good fit etc. because I am not able to work more, when I specifically asked for more hours and she said not now what's more is that she said it's really inconvenient to have to schedule me with someone else to close and who's fault is that since I asked about training? Then in the text it was saying I don't think we can handle another employee right now. Well it would have been nice to know that before you offered me the position, I accepted the offer, and you had me start. Plus I put in my notice at my other job since I apparantly thought I was enjoying this new job. Now I am stuck without any job left bewildered and confused and feel really silly for accepting a job that just left me hanging. Why do they even have hiring signs if they are not really hiring? Plus what am I going to think if I see another new employee working but yet she fires me for no reason? I'm still really anxious and confused. Couldn't they at least have seen if they could work things out before sending me a random text? (May I also mention the manager is still a teenager, which wouldn't be bad if the store was being run well).
