  1. Ah crap no! It's weird how it comes on a lot of the time for you and me both, in the weekend when you can't contact your doctor! What's up with that? But anyway, sorry (((Hugs)))
  2. Could be but itching and a rash can also just be a side effect to it. So you'll have to decide how much of that you can put up with. I've had a few years of extremely bad eczema and i still rather put up with that than this pain. If you don't want it you'll get a new med and this one needs to be weaned down and the other build up again, which is also no fun. But call the doc especially about the pain! You'll need to go up again, crap right?!!!
  3. Yeah it's great isn't it! The relief when the pain actually goes away is amazing, people who haven't experienced it can't really understand. The fear that this time it'll not go away anymore and then the relief....
  4. Rootcanal eeek! That sounds so scary! Yikes.... But at least the 800 dosage is still working, that's great!
  5. I so agree! You exchange bodily fluids and let them see you at your most vulnerable and you share something yet you can't talk to them about what you like? I don't get that.... I was so shy with my ex yet with sex i could really let go, try everything, tell him what i liked and didn't like. Imo you're robbing yourself of a great sex life or a great orgasm....why?
  6. Mine also started with just the third branch but it is still bizarre how the same disease and the same branch can be so similar but also so different at the same time! Plus the attacks are not the same each time either. When mine would start, they started with a light pain and it was hard to recognize, after a few days the pain took over but it started almost like a slight muscle ache....
  7. Yes it such a weird pain that even doctors don't know everything about. I too discover the weirdest things sometimes! Upper jaw pain then if i put my finger on my upper lip i sneeze and it tickles at the top side of my head, where the nerve knot is haha Pain in lower jaw, put finger on it and it either shoots in my ear or under my chin haha so weird how all of it is connected! But even when the neurologist told me last year that yes this was TN, i still doubted it because when the worst pain is gone it really is so similar to just a tooth ache that i just wondered if it wasn't that and i made a fuss about nothing.....til the mri results came in of course.....
  8. haha yes that sounds familiar! I keep saying that as well and then when the pain is back it's one jinx too many haha as if!
  9. Yes i certainly have gotten swollen gums as well! Not every time though but it was the reason i thought it was a tooth ache at first. It's weird! Also not everything triggers pain in the teeth, i could for instance not eat or yawn or talk or brush but the dentist could do a thorough exam without pain! That was weird as well....oh it's such a strange pain/disease!
  10. I hope so as well! But no that doesn't sound like a coincidence. It's summer right? Probably also has to do with it, and are there other common things? Stress situations?
  11. Oh trust me i know it is, for me it's also very hard, extremely hard to nor obsess about what will be and might be! I do that a lot although i shouldn't. But in those moments of extreme pain at least have an attempt at not thinking ahead. I wish i knew better what to say because as you know i struggle with it as well so i also don't know what to say and do. I am just angry a lot but try not to let that overtake me either but it's hard..... It's all crap! Hard to see the joy in life when you're in that much pain..... For me it's bedtime now so i hope with the extra pill it passes again!
  12. Try not to worry about that, let's get rid of this pain first! I know how scared you are, so am i but one day at a time! Just take the extra pill today and see how tomorrow will be....you can go up to 1600 with this so you have some way too go, if necessary
  13. Yes just what i thought, well hope that will help! Fingers crossed!
  14. Aww yeah i can imagine! It's a pretty crappy situation to be in and a terrible disease to deal with! The only thing that got me through all those weeks of pain before i had meds is just take it one day at a time and try to ignore it as much as was possible...as if electric shocks in your jaw can be ignored haha but you get what i mean. Try to put it to the back of your head as much as you can or you get crazy. Keep with the ice packs! And maybe that will help a little bit as well. And then just increase to 800 obviously cause doc said you could! Call pharmacy to check but i think it's 4 times 200,which makes sense cause then you'll have something to get you through the night as well so you don't start the day with pain. I'm pretty sure it's that!
  15. Oh yeah i know that all too well! Proteine drinks and maybe porridge, i drank porridge a lot. I also know how it is to just go on working, i never took a sick day with all that pain but it's so hard! I just hope it passes quickly again for you and that 800 does the trick. However i come to find that in time the dosage keeps being needed to go up....sadly! But it's also finding what works for you, maybe carbamazepine isn't the best anti seizure drug for you and maybe you have to try another one. But that depends on your doctor as well.... Carbamazepine is the one each patient gets to try first but it doesn't work well for everyone. And for me it was huge when i switched from generic carbamazepine to expensive brand tegretol by novartis...world of difference! Take care, i know how much it sucks! Hugs!
  16. Can you break it in 200 each time? In my case it was 200 morning lunch dinner and before bed. But maybe best to consult doctor?
  17. Can't thank here, but yes! Agree wholeheartedly!
  18. Im so glad you're feeling better! Was thinking about you all day.... And glad to have been a little helpful! Good that the hospital treated you more seriously now, benefits of having it diagnosed indeed. Will they still do an mri? I think they have to and should! Because on that mri they can see if a little vein is hitting the nerve and if that's the case they can do the janetta surgery and you'll have such a good chance that it's over then! But i think they really need to do an mri! because you just don't know, you know? But thank god you're doing better!!!
  19. Aww so good to hear! For me it's cold as well, works better than heat. I also have even more problems in summer than in winter. Hope you'll get some sleep! Sleep on the other side!
  20. Maybe they should try you on the brand tegretol! That has helped me so much more than regular carbamazepine! You'll get through it but i know what hell you're going through now....sleep is impossible right? Aww hugs!
  21. Take it easy as much you can until it kicks in. Lie down, don't do all too much cause that just aggravates it, stress is bad as well so try, try to keep yourself as relaxed as you can. Which i know with this pain is pretty much bull, but anything to stop it from getting even worse. If you're not responding to cold maybe you will with warmth, try out both!
