About Me

  1. Oct 23 /2019 I was diagnosed with diabetes. And before that with hypertension. I still have time to turn this around. Right now my A1C is 6.9. And on meds my blood pressure is 105/75. Monday night I am joining a diet support group. I want to lose 50 pounds by next Christmas.
  2. Key Takeaways: Identify partner's unique preferences DIY gifts add a personal touch Consider experience-based gifts Balance practicality with romance Charitable gifts reflect shared values The Joy of Giving The holiday season is a time of warmth, love, and generosity, making it the perfect occasion to show your partner how much they mean to you. Choosing the right Christmas gift is not just about the item itself, but the thought and love behind it. In this article, we'll explore a variety of gift ideas that cater to different interests and personalities, ensuring you find something that resonates with your partner's unique taste and style. Gift-giving is an art, and when it comes to your partner, it becomes even more significant. It's about understanding their likes, dislikes, and the little things that bring them joy. Whether your partner is a tech enthusiast, a book lover, or someone who cherishes sentimental items, there's something for everyone. But how do you choose a gift that stands out? It's not just about the price tag or the brand. It's about finding something that speaks to your shared experiences, dreams, and the journey you're on together. A well-chosen gift can strengthen your bond and create lasting memories, making this Christmas unforgettable. In the following sections, we will delve into various gift ideas, from DIY projects to luxury items, ensuring you have a wide range of options to consider. These ideas are designed to inspire you, spark creativity, and help you find a gift that truly celebrates your relationship. So, let's embark on this journey of finding the perfect Christmas gift for your partner. Whether you're looking for something small and sweet or grand and lavish, this guide has got you covered. Get ready to make this Christmas the most special one yet for your beloved partner. Understanding Your Partner's Love Language Understanding your partner's love language is crucial in selecting the perfect Christmas gift. The concept of love languages, introduced by Dr. Gary Chapman, suggests that everyone has a preferred way of receiving love, which falls into one of five categories: words of affirmation, acts of service, receiving gifts, quality time, and physical touch. Knowing your partner's love language can guide you in choosing a gift that resonates deeply with them. If your partner cherishes words of affirmation, consider a gift that speaks to their heart. A personalized love letter, a custom piece of art with a meaningful quote, or a book of love poems can be incredibly touching. These gifts show thoughtfulness and a deep understanding of what makes your partner feel loved and appreciated. For those who value acts of service, a gift that eases their daily life or caters to their needs can be more impactful than something material. Think about a 'coupon book' filled with offers to do chores, cook dinner, or take on tasks they dislike. Alternatively, scheduling a surprise cleaning service for their space can be a thoughtful gesture. Partners who feel loved through receiving gifts might appreciate something that reflects their interests and passions. This doesn't mean expensive items; even a small, well-chosen gift can speak volumes. Pay attention to their hobbies, wish lists, or even offhand remarks about items they desire. Quality time is precious for some partners. In this case, consider gifts that create opportunities to spend time together. Planning a special day out, a weekend getaway, or even a stay-at-home movie night with their favorite films can be the perfect gift. These experiences create memories and show that you value spending time with them above all else. For those whose love language is physical touch, a gift that involves physical closeness or comfort can be ideal. A cozy blanket for cuddling, a couple's massage, or even a high-quality skincare product for a spa night at home can be excellent choices. These gifts offer comfort and a sense of intimacy, making them feel loved and cherished. It's important to remember that people may appreciate multiple love languages. Combining different elements can make your gift even more special. For instance, a book of love poems coupled with a planned reading night (quality time) shows that you're attentive to their multifaceted ways of experiencing love. Understanding your partner's love language is not just about buying the right gift; it's about deepening your connection and showing that you truly know and cherish them. Gifts That Keep on Giving: Subscription Services Subscription services are a modern and thoughtful way to extend the joy of Christmas well beyond the festive season. These gifts come in various forms, from monthly book clubs to gourmet food deliveries, offering something unique for every interest. The beauty of subscription gifts lies in their ability to provide ongoing surprises and delights, making them the gifts that truly keep on giving. For the book lover in your life, a subscription to a book club can be the ideal gift. Imagine the excitement of receiving a new book every month, specially curated to match their reading preferences. This not only feeds their passion for reading but also introduces them to new authors and genres they might not have explored otherwise. Culinary enthusiasts would appreciate a gourmet food subscription. Options range from international snacks to artisanal cheeses, offering a taste of different cultures and flavors each month. It's a fantastic way to explore culinary delights from the comfort of home, making each delivery an anticipated event. Beauty and wellness subscriptions are perfect for those who love pampering themselves. These boxes, filled with skincare, makeup, or wellness products, are tailored to personal preferences and provide a monthly dose of self-care. It's a thoughtful way to encourage your partner to indulge in some well-deserved relaxation. For partners who are tech-savvy or love entertainment, consider a subscription to a streaming service or a tech gadget box. This could provide them with endless hours of enjoyment, whether it's binge-watching their favorite series or experimenting with the latest tech gadgets. Such gifts cater to their hobbies and ensure they are always entertained. Subscription services are not just convenient but also offer the element of surprise with each delivery. They show that you are thinking about your partner's happiness throughout the year, not just during the holiday season. With a wide range of options available, you can easily find a subscription service that aligns perfectly with your partner's interests and passions. DIY Gifts: Personalized and Heartfelt DIY gifts are a beautiful way to show your partner how much you care. These gifts are not just unique; they carry a part of you with them, making them incredibly special. Whether it's a handcrafted item or a personalized project, DIY gifts bring a level of intimacy and thoughtfulness that is hard to match with store-bought items. One simple yet impactful DIY idea is creating a personalized photo album or scrapbook. Fill it with memories of your time together, notes, and mementos. This gift becomes a cherished keepsake, a tangible reminder of your shared journey and the moments you value the most. Handmade home decor items, such as painted canvases, custom-made cushions, or crafted candle holders, add a personal touch to your living space. These items not only enhance the aesthetic of your home but also serve as a constant reminder of your love and creativity. For those who enjoy cooking or baking, homemade treats like cookies, jams, or a gourmet meal can be a delightful gift. Presenting them in a decorative manner adds an extra layer of charm, showing the effort and love put into creating them. Crafting a piece of jewelry or accessories is another wonderful way to express your affection. Whether it's a knitted scarf, a beaded bracelet, or a hand-painted tote bag, these items carry a personal touch that no store-bought gift can replicate. Technology can also play a role in DIY gifts. Creating a personalized playlist, a video montage of your favorite moments together, or even a custom-made app or game can be incredibly meaningful, especially if it ties into your partner's interests or your shared experiences. Ultimately, the value of DIY gifts lies in the time, thought, and love you invest in them. They are a testament to your creativity and your understanding of what your partner cherishes. In a world of mass-produced items, a DIY gift stands out as a heartfelt symbol of your unique bond. Tech Gadgets for the Modern Partner In an era where technology is ever-evolving, tech gadgets make for an exciting and practical Christmas gift for the modern partner. From the latest smart devices to innovative gadgets that simplify daily life, the options are vast and can cater to a range of interests and needs. Smartwatches are a great choice for those who love staying connected and health-conscious. They not only offer features like text and call notifications but also track fitness activities, monitor heart rates, and even guide meditation sessions. With various styles and functionalities available, you can find one that perfectly suits your partner's lifestyle. Wireless earbuds have become a must-have for music lovers and podcast enthusiasts. They offer the freedom of movement without compromising on sound quality. Whether it's for their daily commute, workout sessions, or just enjoying music at home, wireless earbuds are a versatile and appreciated gift. For partners who are into photography or videography, consider gifting a high-quality camera or the latest smartphone with advanced camera features. These gadgets allow them to capture moments in stunning detail, making it a gift that helps preserve memories. Portable speakers are ideal for those who enjoy music and entertainment on the go. From waterproof outdoor speakers to elegant ones that blend with home decor, these gadgets can enhance their listening experience wherever they are. Smart home devices, such as voice-activated assistants, smart lights, or robotic vacuums, offer convenience and a touch of luxury. These gadgets can automate tasks, provide information, and even control other smart devices, making them a practical yet exciting gift for tech-savvy partners. In a world where technology is constantly changing, gifting a tech gadget shows that you are in tune with your partner's interests and the latest trends. It's not just about the gadget itself, but the experience and convenience it brings to their daily life, making it a thoughtful and forward-thinking Christmas gift choice. Experience Gifts: Creating Memories Together Experience gifts are a fantastic way to create lasting memories with your partner, offering something more than just a physical item. These gifts focus on spending quality time together, exploring new activities, and building shared experiences that can strengthen your relationship. Planning a weekend getaway to a place your partner has always wanted to visit can be an incredibly thoughtful gift. Whether it's a cozy cabin in the woods, a beachside resort, or a cultural city escape, the key is to choose a destination that resonates with their interests and provides a break from the everyday routine. For adventurous couples, consider experience gifts like skydiving, scuba diving, or hot air balloon rides. These thrilling activities offer an adrenaline rush and a chance to experience something truly unique together. It's about stepping out of your comfort zones and creating unforgettable moments. Cooking classes, wine tastings, or art workshops are great for couples who enjoy learning new skills together. These experiences allow you to spend quality time while indulging in your shared passions or exploring new hobbies. Concerts, theater shows, or sports events can be the perfect gift for partners who love entertainment. Experiencing a live performance or cheering for a favorite team together creates a sense of camaraderie and shared joy that is hard to replicate. Experience gifts show that you value making memories over material possessions. They reflect an understanding of your partner's interests and a desire to spend meaningful time together. In a world full of tangible gifts, offering an experience is a unique way to express your love and commitment. Fashion and Accessories for Style Enthusiasts For those who have a flair for fashion, giving the gift of style can be both exciting and intimate. It shows an understanding of your partner's taste and a desire to see them looking and feeling their best. Whether it's high-end designer wear or unique boutique finds, fashion and accessories can make for a memorable Christmas gift. Consider timeless pieces like a classic watch or a chic handbag. These items not only add to their style quotient but also serve as lasting reminders of your affection. When selecting these, pay attention to their current wardrobe and personal style to ensure your gift complements their look. Jewelry is another way to add sparkle to your partner's Christmas. From elegant necklaces to stylish cufflinks, the options are plentiful. Personalized jewelry, with initials or a significant date, can add an extra layer of thoughtfulness to your gift. For those who appreciate practicality in their fashion, winter wear like a high-quality coat, a cozy scarf, or designer boots can be both stylish and functional. These gifts not only keep them warm but also ensure they look fashionable during the colder months. Don't forget about accessories that add a finishing touch to any outfit. Belts, hats, or designer sunglasses can be excellent gifts for style enthusiasts. They're not just additions to their wardrobe; they're a nod to their sense of fashion and individuality. Home Decor for a Cozy Christmas Home decor gifts are a wonderful way to contribute to the coziness and ambiance of your partner's living space. These gifts can range from practical items to decorative pieces, each adding a unique touch to their home. When choosing home decor, consider their personal style and the current aesthetic of their living space. Artwork can be a significant and personal gift, especially if it reflects their tastes or interests. Whether it's a painting, a sculpture, or a modern art piece, it can transform the look of a room and serve as a conversation starter. Functional decor like elegant lamps, cozy throws, or stylish bookends not only serve a purpose but also enhance the home's aesthetic. They add a layer of comfort and style, making them ideal gifts for those who love a blend of functionality and design. For a touch of greenery, consider giving a potted plant or a set of indoor plants. They not only beautify the space but also promote a healthy, calming environment. Choose plants that are easy to care for, especially if your partner isn't an experienced gardener. Scented candles or essential oil diffusers are perfect for creating a relaxing and aromatic atmosphere. They can transform the mood of a room, making it a tranquil and inviting space. Opt for scents that your partner loves or that have calming properties. Customized home decor, like a personalized welcome mat or a photo canvas, adds a personal touch to their living space. These items show thoughtfulness and a deep understanding of their personal space. Kitchenware, like a high-end coffee maker, a beautiful dinnerware set, or unique kitchen gadgets, can be a delight for those who love spending time in the kitchen. These gifts blend practicality with style, making everyday tasks more enjoyable. They show your partner that you care about their well-being and encourage them to take time for themselves. From spa treatments to wellness gadgets, these gifts can help your partner relax, rejuvenate, and feel their best. Consider gifting a spa day or a massage therapy session. These experiences offer relaxation and a break from daily stressors, providing your partner with a chance to unwind and be pampered. You could also opt for at-home spa kits, complete with bath salts, body oils, and soothing face masks, allowing them to create their own spa experience at home. Wellness gadgets like a fitness tracker, a yoga mat, or a smart water bottle can motivate your partner to maintain a healthy lifestyle. These gadgets combine functionality with health benefits, making them ideal for partners who are health-conscious or looking to start a fitness journey. From rare editions to cozy reading accessories, these gifts are perfect for anyone who cherishes the written word. They offer an opportunity to enhance their reading experience and show appreciation for their love of literature. A carefully selected book, perhaps a first edition or a signed copy by their favorite author, can be a prized possession for a book lover. It shows thoughtfulness and an understanding of their literary preferences. Alternatively, a subscription to a book club that delivers handpicked selections each month can provide them with a steady stream of new reading material. 3. Key Takeaways: Match gifts with her unique interests Personalize gifts for a special touch Budget-friendly doesn't mean less thoughtful Experiences create unforgettable memories Well-being gifts show you care Understanding Her Interests: A Key to Perfect Gift Selection Choosing the perfect Christmas gift for your girlfriend starts with understanding her interests and passions. This is not just about what she needs, but about what makes her heart sing. Is she an avid reader, a fitness enthusiast, or an art lover? Observing her daily activities, listening to her talk about her hobbies, and recalling past conversations can give you valuable insights into her world. Don't hesitate to explore beyond the surface. If she loves music, consider the specific genres or artists she enjoys. Is she more into classical symphonies or the latest pop hits? Similarly, if she's into fitness, think about whether she prefers yoga, running, or perhaps a new sport she's been eager to try. The key is to tailor your gift to align with these specific interests. Social media can also be a helpful tool. A quick glance at her Instagram or Pinterest might reveal her current obsessions or wish list items. Pay attention to what she 'likes' or 'pins' – these are often direct signals of her desires. It's not just about the item itself, but about the thought you put into understanding what she loves. Remember, the best gifts are those that show you've been paying attention. They're the ones that say, "I know you, I hear you, and I appreciate the things that bring you joy." It's about recognizing her uniqueness and celebrating it. When a gift resonates with her personal interests, it becomes more than just a present; it becomes a testament to your relationship and the care you have for her. It's also important to consider the stage of your relationship. If it's a new relationship, you might want to opt for something less intimate and more fun. For a long-term relationship, something more personal and thoughtful would be appropriate. The duration and depth of your relationship can guide you in the intensity of the personalization of the gift. Lastly, don't forget the element of surprise. Even if you're certain about her interests, adding a unique twist or an unexpected element can make the gift even more special. It could be a rare edition of her favorite book or a special version of a product she's been eyeing. A little creativity can go a long way in making her Christmas unforgettable. The Art of Personalization: Making Gifts Unique Personalization is a powerful way to transform any gift into something uniquely special. It's about adding a personal touch that directly connects the gift to your girlfriend's identity, experiences, or your relationship. Personalized gifts show that you've put thought and effort into making the present just for her. There are countless ways to personalize gifts. It could be as simple as engraving her name or initials on a piece of jewelry, a diary, or a pen. Or, it could be more elaborate, like customizing a piece of artwork, a photo book of memories you've shared, or even a song or poem written just for her. The objective is to make her feel that the gift was created with her in mind. Consider the message you want to convey through the gift. Do you want to remind her of a special moment you shared? Or perhaps you want to celebrate her personal achievements or milestones. Personalization can also be about capturing a feeling or a message that you want to communicate, like love, appreciation, or admiration. Technology has made personalization easier than ever. There are numerous online services that allow you to customize a wide range of products. From creating a custom perfume or a bespoke piece of clothing to designing a unique piece of art, the options are nearly endless. Take advantage of these tools to create something truly one-of-a-kind. Finally, remember that the best personalizations are those that resonate with her personality and your relationship. It's not just about putting a name on an item, but about infusing the gift with a sense of shared experiences, affection, and understanding. A personalized gift, no matter how small or grand, holds the power to touch her heart and strengthen the bond you share. Budget-Friendly Ideas: Thoughtful Yet Affordable Presents Finding the perfect Christmas gift for your girlfriend doesn't have to strain your wallet. With a bit of creativity and thoughtfulness, you can present her with something meaningful without spending a fortune. The key is to focus on the sentiment behind the gift rather than its price tag. One of the most cost-effective yet personal gifts you can give is something handmade. Whether it's a knitted scarf, a custom painting, or a handcrafted piece of jewelry, the effort and time you put into creating something by hand can be far more valuable than something bought off the shelf. These gifts carry a personal touch that can't be replicated by a store-bought item. Another great idea is to curate a personalized gift basket. Fill it with a collection of smaller items you know she'll love. This could include her favorite snacks, a good book, a scented candle, or a cute mug. The beauty of this idea lies in the customization – each item in the basket reflects her tastes and interests. Consider gifting an experience. A day trip to a nearby town, a picnic in the park, or a home-cooked dinner can be more memorable than a physical gift. These experiences create special memories and offer quality time together, something that's invaluable in any relationship. Thrifting and vintage shopping are other excellent ways to find unique gifts at a lower cost. Vintage jewelry, retro decor pieces, or a classic vinyl record can make for a thoughtful and distinctive present. These items often come with their own stories and character, adding an extra layer of meaning to your gift. Lastly, remember that the most important aspect of any gift is the thought behind it. A heartfelt letter, a photo album of your best moments together, or a custom playlist can convey your feelings without costing much. It's the love and consideration you put into the gift that truly counts. Experiential Gifts: Creating Lasting Memories Experiential gifts are a wonderful way to deepen your connection and create lasting memories with your girlfriend. Rather than a traditional tangible gift, an experience can provide enjoyment, excitement, and the opportunity to spend quality time together. The beauty of experiential gifts lies in their ability to foster shared experiences and stories that you can both cherish for years to come. Consider planning a surprise day out or a weekend getaway. It could be a visit to a place she's always wanted to go or an activity she's been longing to try. Whether it's a scenic hike, a wine-tasting tour, or a concert by her favorite artist, the key is to choose something that aligns with her interests and passions. Workshops and classes offer another excellent avenue for experiential gifting. Cooking classes, pottery workshops, or dance lessons can be both fun and educational. These activities not only provide a great bonding experience but also allow her to explore new skills or hobbies. Subscription services can also be a great experiential gift. Whether it's a monthly book club, a streaming service for her favorite shows, or a subscription box tailored to her interests, these gifts keep on giving long after the holidays have passed. They offer continuous excitement and anticipation for what's coming next. They can add a pop of color to an outfit or provide warmth during the colder months. Look for unique patterns, high-quality materials, and colors that she often wears. A scarf isn't just a piece of fabric; it's a fashion statement that can elevate her entire look. Jewelry is another area where you can hardly go wrong. Whether it's a pair of elegant earrings, a sleek bracelet, or a beautiful necklace, jewelry can be both personal and meaningful. Consider her metal preferences (gold, silver, rose gold) and her style (minimalist, bohemian, classic). Personalized jewelry, such as a piece with her birthstone or initials, can add an extra special touch. For the fashion-forward girlfriend, consider trendier items like stylish sunglasses or a chic belt. These accessories can be both functional and fashionable, making them a great addition to her wardrobe. Remember to keep her style preferences in mind – does she prefer bold, statement pieces or something more subtle and classic? Footwear is another area where you can explore. A pair of stylish boots, comfortable sneakers, or elegant heels can be a great addition to her collection. Pay attention to her current style and preferences, as well as the size and comfort. Shoes can be tricky to get right, but when you do, they're a gift she'll treasure and use regularly. Finally, don't forget the presentation. Fill it with memories of your time together, including photos, ticket stubs, and little notes. This is more than just a gift; it's a keepsake of your shared experiences, something she can look back on and cherish. Handmade jewelry is another thoughtful option. With basic materials and a little bit of practice, you can create a unique piece of jewelry that reflects her style. It could be a necklace with her favorite stone, a bracelet with charms that have special meaning, or a pair of custom earrings. If you're skilled in the kitchen, consider baking her favorite treats. A batch of homemade cookies, a cake, or even a full meal prepared by you can be a delightful surprise. You can add a personal touch by decorating the baked goods or presenting them in a special way. Artistic boyfriends might opt to create a piece of art for her. It could be a painting, a drawing, or a craft project. The subject could be something meaningful to both of you, like a place you visited together or a shared favorite thing. Handcrafted bath and body products are also a great idea. Homemade soaps, bath bombs, or lotions can be customized with her favorite scents and ingredients. These gifts offer a personal spa experience, made even more special because it was created by you. You could even create a personalized spa kit, complete with face masks, lotions, and bath salts for a DIY pampering experience. Lastly, a wellness retreat or a spa day can be a fantastic gift. Consider her taste in art - does she prefer abstract, modern, or classic pieces? A beautiful painting, an elegant sculpture, or a unique wall hanging can add character and style to her home. Functional yet stylish items like designer cushions, elegant vases, or sophisticated lamps can also be great choices. These items not only serve a purpose but also add a touch of elegance and comfort to her home. Look for pieces that complement her existing décor and reflect her personal style. A carefully selected book shows that you understand her interests and want to contribute to her love for reading. Whether she's into classic literature, contemporary novels, or non-fiction, the right book can be a gateway to new worlds and ideas. Consider her favorite genres and authors. If she has a favorite author, look for their latest publication or a special edition of one of their works. Alternatively, introduce her to a new author or genre that aligns with her interests. This can show your investment in her hobbies and your desire to broaden her reading horizons. A collection of books can also be a wonderful gift. This could be a series she's been wanting to read or a set of works by a renowned author. Book collections not only provide a great reading experience but also make for an elegant addition to her bookshelf. Limited edition or signed copies of books add a unique and valuable element to your gift. These editions often come with beautiful covers and are something she can treasure and display proudly. For a more interactive experience, consider pairing the book with a related activity. For instance, if you gift her a novel set in Italy, couple it with an Italian cooking class or a wine tasting experience. This adds an extra layer of thoughtfulness to your gift. Finally, don't overlook the power of a heartfelt note inscribed inside the book. This personal touch can transform the book into a cherished keepsake, reminding her of your relationship every time she opens it. Jewelry: Timeless and Romantic Gift Ideas Jewelry is a classic and enduring gift choice that can express your feelings in a way few other gifts can. Whether it's a necklace, bracelet, earrings, or a ring, the right piece of jewelry can be a timeless reminder of your love and affection. Consider her style and preferences when choosing jewelry. Does she prefer gold, silver, or rose gold? Is her taste more minimalist or does she enjoy statement pieces? Understanding these preferences is key to selecting a piece she'll love and wear often. Personalized jewelry adds a special touch to your gift. Engraving her name, initials, or a significant date onto a piece can make it uniquely hers. Birthstone jewelry is another great option, offering a personal and colorful addition to her collection. Designer or branded jewelry can be a luxurious treat. If your budget allows, a piece from her favorite designer or a well-known brand can make for an unforgettable gift. These pieces often come with a legacy of quality and style, making them more than just accessories. Lastly, consider the presentation. A beautiful jewelry box or an elegant wrapping can enhance the gifting experience. The way you present the jewelry can reflect the thought and care you've put into choosing it, making the moment of unwrapping as special as the gift itself. Culinary Gifts: For the Foodie Girlfriend For the girlfriend who delights in culinary adventures, gifts that cater to her foodie interests can be incredibly thoughtful. These gifts not only cater to her taste buds but also encourage her culinary creativity. Whether she's an experienced cook or enjoys exploring new flavors, there's a wide array of options to choose from. A high-quality kitchen gadget can be a game-changer for her culinary experiments. Consider items like a state-of-the-art blender, a gourmet knife set, or a fancy coffee machine. These tools can make cooking and food preparation more enjoyable and efficient. Cookbooks from renowned chefs or culinary experts can also be an excellent gift. Look for books that align with her cooking style or introduce her to new cuisines. A beautifully illustrated cookbook can serve as both a source of inspiration and a decorative item for her kitchen. Consider gourmet food baskets filled with exotic ingredients, artisanal cheeses, or luxury chocolates. These baskets can be a journey of taste, offering her the chance to explore new flavors and culinary ideas. Personalize the basket with items you know she loves or has been wanting to try. For a more interactive experience, gift her a cooking class or a food tasting tour. Whether it's a pasta-making class, a wine-tasting session, or a guided tour of local eateries, these experiences can be both educational and enjoyable, offering new skills and delightful tastes. Smart luggage with features like built-in chargers and GPS trackers can add an extra level of convenience and security to her travels. Travel accessories like a versatile travel pillow, a high-quality camera, or a portable charger can be both thoughtful and useful. These items address the practicalities of travel, ensuring she has a comfortable and hassle-free experience. Consider gifting a travel journal where she can document her journeys. A well-crafted journal can be a place for her to record memories, stick tickets and photos, and reflect on her experiences. It's a gift that becomes more valuable with time as it fills with her travel stories. Lastly, if you want to go the extra mile, surprise her with a trip or a getaway. This could be a weekend escape to a cozy bed and breakfast, a road trip to a nearby scenic spot, or even plane tickets to a destination she's been longing to visit. The promise of a new adventure can be the most exciting gift of all. 4. Christmas is traditionally viewed as a wholesome and heartwarming time of the year. However, like all things festive, there's a side to it that loves to push boundaries and tickle the funny bones in ways that might make the puritan blush. Enter the world of 'dirty' Christmas jokes! While the term "dirty" can often be a misnomer, in the realm of jokes, it often implies humor that's a tad naughty or might make you think twice before sharing in mixed company. But what's the attraction to these types of jokes, especially during the holiday season? Believe it or not, humor, including the risqué variety, has a long-standing relationship with society, offering us a lens through which we can challenge norms, question conventions, and simply let our hair down. Christmas, despite its sanctity, isn't exempt from this tradition. So, while Grandma might prefer her Christmas tales untainted, there's a vast audience out there that relishes a good 'dirty' Christmas joke. But why? It's worth noting that humor, in general, serves several functions. It can be a coping mechanism, a tool for social bonding, or simply a means to entertain. 'Dirty' jokes, by nature, play on taboos, making them both edgy and appealing for those who enjoy pushing the envelope. So, as we delve deeper into the realm of 'christmas jokes dirty', let's start by understanding our universal love for festive funnies. Why Do We Love Christmas Jokes So Much? Christmas, with its colorful lights, festive carols, and heartwarming traditions, offers a plethora of material for comedians and jokesters alike. But there's more to our love for Christmas jokes than just the abundance of material. One reason we adore these jokes is that they offer a break from the usual festive stress. Let's be honest; the holiday season, with all its joy, can also be fraught with tension. From last-minute shopping to family dynamics, there's a lot that can ruffle our festive feathers. A good joke offers a welcome distraction. Moreover, Christmas humor, even of the 'dirty' kind, is often rooted in shared experiences. Whether it's the chaos of Christmas shopping, the unexpected outcomes of festive cooking, or the antics of office Christmas parties, these shared experiences provide a common ground for humor. Interestingly, according to Dr. Joe Johnson, a psychologist specializing in humor and social bonding, "Shared laughter creates bonds. When people laugh together, it creates a sense of camaraderie and connection, making our social ties stronger." Additionally, as with many jokes, Christmas funnies allow us to approach topics or situations that might otherwise be difficult to address. In the guise of humor, we can discuss, mock, or even vent about issues that might be considered taboo or sensitive. But what's the science behind our love for a slightly naughty joke? Let's dive into the mechanics of what makes these 'dirty' Christmas jokes tick! The Science Behind a Good 'Dirty' Joke At the heart of a captivating 'dirty' joke lies the element of surprise. Neurologically speaking, when a punchline defies our expectations, our brain releases dopamine, a feel-good neurotransmitter. This burst of dopamine is what results in the spontaneous reaction we know as laughter. Dirty jokes often have an added layer, playing with societal taboos or conventions. When a taboo is humorously broken, it creates a stronger unexpected twist, leading to an even greater dopamine release. This might explain why slightly risqué humor tends to be so popular, especially among adults. Dr. Sarah Bellum, a neurologist who has researched humor, states, "The more unexpected the punchline, the greater the comedic effect. This is why dirty jokes, which often play on taboo themes, can elicit such strong reactions." Additionally, the 'forbidden' nature of these jokes might increase their allure. As humans, we're naturally drawn to things we're told we shouldn't do or think about. Dirty jokes provide a safe platform to play with these forbidden ideas without any real consequences. It's also worth noting that humor, in its various forms, activates several areas of the brain. While the left hemisphere decodes the words, the right hemisphere understands the punchline, and the visual cortex helps create a mental image. This all-encompassing brain activity might be another reason why we find jokes, especially the 'dirty' ones, so delightful. However, while the science behind humor is fascinating, it's essential to recognize that what one person finds hilarious, another might find distasteful. This subjectivity, especially concerning dirty jokes, leads us to our next point: the line between humor and inappropriateness. 5 Unexpected Benefits of Sharing Christmas Jokes When we think of Christmas jokes, we often imagine a quick chuckle or a light-hearted moment. However, the benefits of sharing these festive funnies can be more profound than you'd think. Here are five unexpected advantages of indulging in a little Christmas humor: 1. Enhanced Social Bonds: As mentioned earlier, shared laughter can strengthen social ties. When you share a joke, you're not just sharing words; you're sharing a moment of connection. This is especially true during the festive season when social interactions are at their peak. 2. Reduced Stress: Laughter is known to reduce the level of stress hormones, providing a natural way to de-stress during the often hectic holiday season. So, the next time you're feeling the Christmas pressure, maybe a little 'dirty' joke is just what you need! 3. Boosted Immunity: Believe it or not, laughter can enhance your immune system. Research has shown that laughter increases the production of immune cells and antibodies, providing a health boost right when flu season hits. 4. Enhanced Mood: Engaging in humor and laughter triggers the release of endorphins, the body's natural feel-good chemicals. This means that a good Christmas joke can help keep the holiday blues at bay. 5. Improved Cognitive Functions: A good joke often requires cognitive skills to understand the punchline. Regularly engaging in humor can, therefore, sharpen the mind and improve mental functions. So, your penchant for 'dirty' Christmas jokes might just be giving your brain a workout! With these benefits in mind, it's no wonder we love to indulge in a little festive humor. But as with all things, it's essential to strike a balance and understand when humor might cross the line into inappropriateness. The Line Between Humor and Inappropriateness The realm of 'dirty' Christmas jokes is vast, and not all jokes are created equal. While some might be cheeky and light-hearted, others can border on offensive. So, how do we navigate this tricky terrain? Understanding your audience is crucial. A joke that might be hilarious among close friends can be entirely inappropriate in a family setting or a professional environment. It's essential to gauge the comfort level of your audience before delving into risqué territory. Moreover, while humor often serves as a tool to challenge societal norms and taboos, there's a fine line between challenging and disrespecting. Being aware of cultural, racial, or gender sensitivities is paramount. Dr. Lisa Comedica, a social psychologist specializing in humor and its effects, mentions, "Humor, especially of the 'dirty' kind, can be a double-edged sword. While it can liberate and entertain, it can also hurt and offend. It's always crucial to err on the side of caution and empathy." Another factor to consider is timing. There's a time and place for every joke. Sharing a 'dirty' Christmas joke at a children's party or a religious gathering, for instance, would likely be considered in poor taste. Ultimately, while 'dirty' Christmas jokes can be a source of immense amusement, it's essential to share them responsibly. Being mindful of the joke's content, the audience, and the setting can ensure that the humor is appreciated without crossing boundaries. Having established these guidelines, let's explore some of the best 'dirty' Christmas jokes you might want to share, keeping the above in mind! Top 7 'Dirty' Christmas Jokes (You Might Want to Share) Ready to get your chuckle on? Here are seven of the cheekiest 'dirty' Christmas jokes that have made the rounds over the years. But remember, always gauge your audience before sharing! 1. Why was the snowman smiling? He heard the snowblower was coming. 2. What do you call an elf who sings? A wrapper! 3. Why did Mrs. Claus break up with Santa? She was tired of his 'jingle all the way' attitude! 4. What do the female reindeer do when Santa's out delivering presents? Go into town and blow a few bucks! 5. Why did the Christmas tree go to the barber? It needed a trim! 6. How does Santa stay STD-free? He always wraps his package before sleighing! 7. Why was the ornament addicted to Christmas? It was hooked on trees! While these are lighthearted and meant in good fun, always remember the golden rule of comedy: Know your audience! The Evolution of Christmas Jokes Over Time Christmas jokes, much like the festival itself, have a rich history. But how have 'dirty' Christmas jokes evolved over time? In the past, humor was more constrained by societal norms and mores. What was considered 'dirty' or risqué back then might be seen as tame or even innocent today. This evolution showcases society's changing views on sexuality, norms, and taboos. In the Victorian era, for instance, humor was often more about wordplay and double entendres. The naughtiness was subtle and required a keen ear or intellect to catch the punchline. Fast forward to the roaring '20s, and the jokes became a tad more direct, reflecting the era's rebellious spirit and the flapper culture. However, the humor remained largely within the bounds of decency. It wasn't until the latter half of the 20th century, with the rise of stand-up comedy and the cultural revolution, that 'dirty' jokes began to break more barriers. As societal views on subjects like sex, relationships, and body image evolved, so did the nature of the jokes. Today, in the age of the internet, we're seeing a resurgence of 'dirty' Christmas jokes, thanks in large part to memes and digital media. But as always, the true essence of these jokes lies in the shared laughter, not in offending or belittling anyone. With the world becoming more global, it's also intriguing to see how different cultures perceive dirty humor, leading us to our next section. How Cultures Around the World Perceive Dirty Humor The appreciation of humor, especially of the 'dirty' kind, varies significantly across cultures. What might be hilarious in one culture could be considered inappropriate or even offensive in another. So, how do different cultures perceive dirty humor? Western cultures, especially in the U.S. and parts of Europe, have generally been more accepting of risqué jokes. Stand-up comedians, late-night talk show hosts, and sitcoms often delve into themes that could be deemed 'dirty'. Asian cultures, on the other hand, have traditionally been more conservative regarding dirty humor. However, with globalization and the advent of the internet, younger generations are increasingly being exposed to and appreciating this form of comedy. African cultures offer a rich tapestry of humor, which often revolves around daily life, societal norms, and folklore. While 'dirty' humor exists, it's often delivered with a unique African twist, making it distinct and deeply rooted in local traditions. Latin American humor is passionate, vibrant, and often revolves around daily life, relationships, and societal challenges. While risqué jokes are enjoyed, they're often intertwined with local idioms, making them uniquely Latin. Middle Eastern humor, constrained by religious and societal norms, is often more subtle when it comes to dirty jokes. However, that doesn't mean they don't exist. They're just delivered in a way that's more in line with local sensibilities. Understanding these cultural nuances is essential, especially in our globalized world. It ensures that humor bridges gaps instead of creating them, fostering better mutual respect and understanding. Do 'Dirty' Christmas Jokes Actually Strengthen Relationships? One may wonder: Beyond the chuckles and rosy cheeks, do 'dirty' Christmas jokes play a deeper role in our social lives? The answer might be more profound than you'd think. Sharing a joke, especially the cheeky ones, often requires a certain level of trust and comfort. When two people laugh at something slightly taboo, it can create a shared moment of understanding, fostering a deeper bond. Dr. Jane Thompson, a relationship psychologist, opines, "Laughter is a social glue. When two individuals share a 'naughty' joke and both find it amusing, it not only lightens the mood but can also create a sense of camaraderie. It's as if they're sharing a little secret, a shared moment of defiance against societal norms." However, this bonding isn't limited to romantic relationships. Friends, colleagues, and even strangers can experience a fleeting moment of connection when they share a laugh over a risqué joke. That said, there's a flip side. Not everyone appreciates or feels comfortable with 'dirty' humor. Sharing such jokes without gauging the comfort level of the other person can lead to discomfort, misunderstandings, or even strained relationships. So, while a cheeky Christmas joke can indeed be a relationship-strengthening tool, it's crucial to ensure that it's shared with the right audience and at the appropriate time. When to Avoid Sharing That Naughty Joke While a well-timed 'dirty' Christmas joke can be the highlight of a gathering, there are moments when it's best to keep that joke to yourself. Recognizing these moments is key to ensuring that humor remains a tool of connection, not division. First and foremost, always be mindful of the audience. A joke that might be hilarious among close friends might not be appropriate in a formal setting or with acquaintances. Children and elderly family members might not be the ideal audience for risqué humor. Not only could the content be inappropriate, but it could also lead to awkward questions or explanations. Work events, especially with diverse teams or individuals from different cultural backgrounds, are another setting where caution is advised. What's funny in one culture might be deeply offensive in another. Dr. Paul Harrison, a cultural sensitivity trainer, emphasizes, "It's essential to remember that humor is deeply cultural. What's a light joke in one part of the world might be deeply inappropriate in another. Always err on the side of caution." Lastly, always be attuned to the reactions of those around you. If someone seems uncomfortable or offended, it's a good cue to shift the tone of the conversation. In essence, while humor is a fantastic tool for connection, it's also a responsibility. Being mindful of when and where you share that naughty joke can make all the difference. Expert Opinions: The Psychology Behind a Good Chuckle Ever wondered what makes something funny? Why do some jokes make us laugh out loud, while others elicit a mere smirk? Experts in the field of psychology and humor research have dived deep into understanding this phenomenon. According to Dr. Robert Provine, a leading psychologist and author of "Laughter: A Scientific Investigation", humor often plays on societal norms and taboos. He states, "Breaking or bending these rules, even momentarily, can produce a surprise that we often manifest as laughter." So, when it comes to 'dirty' Christmas jokes, it's the gentle push against societal boundaries that often makes them amusing. It's not necessarily the content, but the unexpectedness and the slight breach of the 'norm' that evokes laughter. Furthermore, shared humor, especially the risqué kind, can serve as a stress-relief tool. Dr. Sophie Scott, a neuroscientist specializing in the science of laughter, mentions, "Laughter, especially in a group setting, can act as a collective sigh of relief. It's our brain's way of telling us that, in this moment, everything is alright." When we laugh, our brain releases endorphins, often referred to as 'feel-good' chemicals. This not only boosts our mood but can also momentarily push aside stressors and anxieties. While the content of a joke is essential, the psychological and social contexts play a significant role in determining its humor value. So the next time you share a cheeky joke, know that there's a whole lot of science backing that chuckle! The Impact of Digital Media on Christmas Jokes' Popularity Over the last decade, the way we consume and share humor has dramatically shifted, thanks to the rise of digital media. Memes, tweets, GIFs, and countless other digital formats have taken the spotlight, influencing even the age-old tradition of Christmas jokes. 'Dirty' Christmas jokes, once shared in hushed tones at gatherings or found hidden in the pages of comedy magazines, are now available at the click of a button. Social media platforms like Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram have played a significant role in this shift. A cheeky joke that might once have had a limited audience can now go viral, reaching millions in a matter of hours. This democratization of humor has its benefits. For one, it provides a platform for aspiring comedians and everyday folks to share their wit with the world. It also allows for a more diverse range of voices and perspectives, enriching the humor landscape. However, with this vast reach comes responsibility. The permanence of digital content means a joke shared online can resurface years later, potentially out of its original context. Moreover, the global nature of the internet requires a heightened awareness of cultural sensitivities. Yet, despite the challenges, one thing is clear: digital media has ensured that Christmas jokes, dirty or not, remain an integral part of our festive celebrations. They've simply evolved, adapting to the digital age while retaining their core purpose of bringing joy and laughter. In essence, while the medium has changed, the message remains the same. Christmas jokes, regardless of their content, continue to connect us, making the festive season all the more merry and bright. Concluding Thoughts on Dirty Christmas Jokes As we wrap up our exploration of 'dirty' Christmas jokes, it's clear that they are more than just a source of amusement. They are a reflection of our culture, our societal norms, and our relationships. From understanding the science behind a good chuckle to recognizing the line between humor and inappropriateness, we've delved deep into the world of cheeky festive humor. While they may push boundaries, these jokes also have the potential to foster connections, build camaraderie, and offer a shared moment of joy. However, as with all things, moderation and mindfulness are key. Being aware of the audience, the setting, and the cultural context is crucial to ensure that humor remains inclusive and doesn't unintentionally harm or offend. Whether you're a fan of 'dirty' Christmas jokes or prefer your humor a tad more vanilla, the goal remains the same: to spread joy, laughter, and love during the festive season. And isn't that what Christmas is all about? As you navigate the upcoming holiday season, remember to share a laugh, spread the cheer, and most importantly, be kind. After all, a world with more laughter is a world filled with more love. Happy holidays, and may your days be merry, bright, and filled with delightful chuckles! 5. The holiday season has arrived and with it comes an age-old challenge - finding the perfect Christmas gift for everyone on your list. Whether you’re shopping for family members, close friends, or colleagues, picking out meaningful gifts can be an arduous task. At times it can seem like an impenetrable puzzle, filled with stress and perplexity, as you rack your brain trying to find the perfect present. Christmas is meant to be a time of joy and celebration, however, all too often it becomes overshadowed by worries, financial constraints, and even loneliness. Therefore, when it comes time to gift-shopping, keep in mind that it should also be a time of expressing thoughtfulness, gratitude, and love. The best gifts are ones that are memorable and personal. Don’t focus solely on what the item costs – instead look at the emotional connection people will have with the gift. The gift itself should be an experience or item that you think your loved one would really appreciate. If you’re stuck in a rut, try brainstorming for unique ideas. Look for items with a special meaning or story behind them, such as sentimental jewelry or customizable items. Consider activities that the recipient would enjoy, such as theater tickets, cooking classes, drawing lessons, etc. To make things easier, take some time to figure out what the person would like. Ask yourself, what type of items do they already own? What do they spend their money on? What brings them the most pleasure? Have any of their interests changed over the years? Still unsure about the gift? Put together a creative hamper or collection of different items. Adorning it with wrapping paper and bows can also light up a face on Christmas morning. Memories of Christmas morning gifts, rather than the cost of the items, are long lasting. When thinking of a Christmas gift, remember it’s not just about the item itself; it’s also about considering how your special someone will use it and cherish it. Don’t let the puzzle of stress and perplexity force you away from gift-shopping. Take your time and make the holidays the most special time of year for the important people in your life.
  6. We been together 1 year. He’s divorced with 2 kids. Ex wife cheated on him 3 years ago. They divorced 3 years ago. he tells me he loves me and misses me a lot. We are in a long distance relationship but we FaceTime 4-6 times a day. He is kind and comes from a good background. In August he committed to me as his gf. he did that because I walked away as I was frustrated he wouldn’t claim me as his gf after 9 months and he was not seeing anyone else. he just disliked having titles. he then also told me that thanksgiving he’s taking his kids on a 2 week vacation during that time and wanted me to be aware of it and not be mad that he wasn’t inviting me. our 1 year was Halloween weekend while we were together but he nonchalantly pretended it didn’t exist after I told him about it. this past week I asked about the holidays and he was being evasive. last night I spoke to him about Christmas and nye and if he wanted to spend it with me as flights are expensive and I’d like to plan it. he told me he wants to spend them with me but he can’t because he doesn’t want marriage. He’s worried this will lead to that. I have been honest with him since the beginning how I want marriage. He also said he might re marry but he doesn’t want any more kids and I agreed to not having kids. I told him at least give me marriage if I have to give up having kids. he told me he loves me and really wishes he can be with me for the holidays but he just can’t seem to make it happen. He also said he still wants me to be his girlfriend. I told him that is selfish and I will not be his gf and be sad, angry, and depressed and alone on the holidays knowing he didnt want/can’t be with me. I rather be alone and single. he then said I don’t want to lose you but I said you can’t have your cake and eat it too. He said he still can’t get over the hurt his ex wife did to him. He said I am perfect in every way but hard to open up more to me. He said maybe if I didn’t speak of marriage so much he would have spent the holidays with me. I am really hurt right now. Knowing how he’s not choosing me. did I the do the correct thing and end it? Should I have just have be quiet and wait it out? I’m 35 years old and he’s 42 years old. I just don’t want to waste my youth on someone who’s just enjoying me for the time being.
  7. I fear that this will seem as if it is a long ramble so I will apologise for that first. I believe I live with a narcissist, many times I have considered our home environment as 'toxic'. We broke up for a long time before getting married where I spent a lot of time working through my faults and failings... as well as the things my husband (then bf) would tell me was wrong about me. Since then, we have got married, had children and have a home together. Life was good, as we all know, throw children into the mix and things get even more complicated when the narcissist isn't the centre of the partner's eye anymore and focus switches to the little people in our lives. I feel that I have devoted myself to our family. Giving up a career to be at home with our children; I wanted to be there for them, however we don't have the money for childcare others do and it was very much implied once I'd had children that going back to work wouldn't be an option as he wouldn't help with our kids. After 10 years of devoting myself to our family, as well as his own family I am feeling lost and of course it is the wonderful 'Family at Christmas' issue that has thrown me into despair once again. I have married into a family of narcissistic males. Their mother died a few years ago and since then the egos have really taken over. I was very close to my mother in law and witnessed her decline where they weren't able to actually give her emotional support and at times, the lack of care was shocking. I would do what I could but it was always made clear that it had nothing to do with me. For all the years we have been together my husband's work and his family come first. He doesn't take any time off with me and the kids, only times he'll be with us is if it's a family occasion, if it's my family there will be some reason he can't make it or is late or he'll dominate the occasion, when it's his family, me and our children are almost wheeled out as the picture perfect family and the issues are masked. After years of spending Christmas focussing on and hosting his family I really felt that this year, it could just be me, my husband, our children and my parents and one of the other sons could host my father in law however once again they have all held their hands up and said "nah, we're all away so it's on you" I have always just rolled over and said that he can't be alone at Christmas and have him, but every year it is a disaster. He's late. He doesn't bring gifts. He sits at the table and treats me like a slave. He and my husband chat non stop and just leave everything else to me and quite frankly ruin Christmas for me and our children. Then the calls come in from abroad from the other sons and their wives, while muggins here gets treated like dirt by all of them. I know I have left it too late to have any say in all of this, but quite honestly, I just want to tell my husband that if he wants to see his dad at Christmas then he is to go there alone and I'll host my parents with my children at home. The thought of it all is making me feel physically unwell, I don't want to see my father in law at Christmas. Now the final point is, which makes it all the more confusing... My father in law drives my husband mad when he sees him, because he's always late, because he never brings our children presents, because he never mucks in. All the things that my husband gets driven mad by are the very things that drive me mad... they are also traits I see in my own husband. He always says that he's had enough of it always falling to us. Then I get upset about it all and then it's ME that gets made out to be the one causing issues by getting upset at the toxic nature of his family. I don't want my father in law here for Christmas, but if he doesn't come to us, then he's alone because none of the other sons put any effort in at all. My husband never takes time off apart from Christmas and it always falls to us. I can't take it anymore. I can't deal with the stress of saying "yes, he can come" only for it to make my husband in a horrible mood with me and the kids when it's not us who have caused the problems. I can't deal with the guilt I'll be loaded with if I say "no! not this year! I want a break from the drama" I can't deal with being the one who is always at fault, always to blame for problems. I just want a nice Christmas for me and our children without all the drama and with my parents who actually help out! I know that if I put my foot down, he'll be horrible towards me. I just feel that whatever I do I'm wrong. In my inlaws eyes and seemingly my husbands eyes, I'm not worthy of taking any time off, neither our our children and we are not worthy of having a restful Christmas. I am not a slave and deserve to have a Christmas where I'm not demeaned, mocked, sneered at or made out to be the villain when other people are causing issues. I'm going on and I'm not even sure if any of this makes sense. I'm so upset. I am suck a mug and just don't know what to do for the best, for me, for our children and for the future of our marriage. I should add that I have been trying to get my husband to go to therapy with me but he simply won't commit to it.
  8. It has nothing to do with charm.
 Just the honest truth.
You fed my ego with lines like
“You’re a gorgeous being” You don’t need it. You look good just like that.
I believed it.
I stopped hiding behind bold lips
And winged tips. You once told me,
You wanted me make you come
 Alive, I told you I didn’t mind.
 I enjoyed tasting you,
You told me you liked my taste too. “It’s going to be good!” You said.
 Happy thanksgiving, Merry Christmas
The rhythm we held In the backseat of my car, Hips thrusting, hearts caving. "We had a good thing going" Was it though? We were two halves of a greater whole.
Never mine, not yours. I once told you,
 I trusted you,
 You were the exception.
You said it meant a lot
You didn’t know why.
 I felt it all,
Lies. You always asked me to text you when I left,
To make sure I made it home alright.
You told me my driving was gold,
There was no way to avoid that bump.
You were right. One night, one stroll,
Our chemistry was weak.
 Where was your soul?
I walked away
For the very last time. This time you didn’t ask me to text you.
 I didn’t even try. I told you,
I apologized for the mess I was
That night.
You told me
You were traumatized. “I think it’s time to move past this experience”
  9. Hi all, Just wondered if anybody has any idea if there is a quick and easy way to get the timestamp/date off a photo? I don't really want to crop it as i think it will look odd but I really don't want the date on there, I'm supposed to be getting this photo printed to canvas for a Christmas present and have been pulling my hair out all lunch hour trying to disguise it with a text box or something but ARRGGGHHHHH! I've spent 30 minutes on hold to a premium line number (then got cut off) so I don't know if they would be able to do it online or not... And I think I'm about to miss the christmas delivery deadline The lesson has already been learnt, I have removed the date function from my camera now! But too little too late... Any ideas???
  10. Hey, you're on my mind Your the sticks inside my head that i rubbed to create light. Hey, you're beautiful I touch a finger to your cheek and you light up like a Christmas tree Hey, your wonderful your like the cat in the window that I got to take home Oh, love is a wondrous thing hearts pounding in full swing Oh, love is a wondrous thing
  11. Little box of memories I keep it under the bed It’s filled with birthday cards and little notes of things you wish you’d said. Pictures of me and you and places we had been Pictures of us together, some you’ve never seen. Little box of memories hidden under the bed. It’s filled with Christmas cards and little lists from a life we wish we’d lead. Old cinema tickets and some clothes you use to wear A bracelet and a token from a night at the fair Little box of memories It’s not much to show. I never see in pictures how your face used to glow. It sits in the attic now, all dusty It’s not that I don’t care. It’s a little brown box..... I don’t keep my memories there.
  12. Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night May you all sleep well this evening, whether you're in love or a fight For this is the end of a happy or really stressful year yet a new beginning to better yourself and put away all your fear Make yourselves strong so you may win your next battle Whether you fell off a job, relationship or a horse, get back on that saddle! Time spent greiving is not woth the agony and pain All it does is heal us or drive us insane Look at all the positive things that are in your life Your family, children, husband, best friend or beautiful wife Cherish each day as if it were your last let out one last scream and let go of your past Approach the New Year as if you are a soldier Only cry when you need to but find a strong shoulder There are many people out there that care for your well being They will hold and embrace you as if you were a queen or a King Don't let temptation of past relationships devour your mind Know that there are billions of people and someone new will be easy to find Keep your head up, neck straight and confidence tall So you have a good view of those who hurt you whenever they fall I pray for each and everyone of you as you lay your head to sleep I will be there for all of you this holiday season, thats a promise I will keep MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL! 13. MY CHRISTMAS My Christmas, Is a time spent with loved ones, For the love of giving and caring, Surrounded by the joys of living and sharing. My Christmas, Is a time to reflect upon another year passed, To cherish deeply what is by my side, And be grateful to those with whom I reside. My Christmas, Is a time to ponder the road ahead, To take a look through future’s door, And anticipate positively whatever may be in store. My Christmas, Is a time of bright lights and snow covered rooftops, Of footsteps echoing and candles glowing in the night, From the village to the town, an ever beautiful sight. My Christmas, Is a time to remember our children and those in need, Kind deeds for those who richly deserve some Christmas cheer, As they smile brightly from ear to ear. My Christmas, Is a time to celebrate peace and harmony, Wishing happiness and unity to all the world for the year that follows, Walking as one in times of both happiness and sorrow. And a Merry Christmas to everyone at ENA!
  14. BY BREAD ALONE It breathes, and not with panting gasps, but as our longing quiet sighs; it leaves, and not by any door, but through the corners of our eyes. Within, we reap more golden grain than all the farmers ever grow; Without, our ovens damp and chill, no flour turns to warming dough. We glut - we sleep; we starve - we weep; thus we, as Man, will be The beast that cannot live by, nor live separate from, the seed. FAREWELL, TENDER She makes it clear with present tense: her love outlives their many trials. And he, stretched tight like cyclone fence, can only mock his pain with smiles. MEMO TO PAIGE TURNER if you've ever read the ending of a book, you know what happens is the lingering loose ends all get wrapped up like Christmas packages there's always resolution, be it comedy or drama so I wonder why our final words were followed by a comma my character's evolving and the plot's accelerating and this never had the feel of people casually dating there's no end and there's no middle, just a beautiful beginning we barely got it open and we closed it short of winning now there's only one thing to do how does this sound to you meet me on page two
  15. Imagine Christmas without your dad That’s his Christmas oh so sad Waking up with excitement and glee But realizing it’s just mom and me Where is my dad oh where could he be Somewhere else, is it because of me No son it’s just between dad and mom Daddy’s trying but mom’s too far gone? Maybe on Christmas she’ll finally want A family and happiness all that I’ve got But if not Daddy will be here alone Know that I’m strong but my weakness has shown Through all of my tears and all of my pain Why is it I end up at this place again My heart is so open my love is too bold I wanted those words: “to have and to hold” To have and to hold on this Christmas day Maybe next year I’ll have it my way.
  16. I'm making my Mom's Christmas gift for her, but I need a song... I also made the same gift for my Dad, it was similar. It's a double picture frame, on one side it had the lyrics to the song "Butterfly Kisses", a daddy-daughter song and then in the other frame had pictures of myself and him. I was wondering if anyone has any ideas for the lyrics I could put in my Mom's frame. About mommy-daughter songs. I know there has been quite a few posts about Christmas gifts and I'm sorry to contribute to them but any feedback is *greatly* appreaciated. I just want to see her face light up, it's been awhile since I've had the chance to make her smile... Thanks again. under*
  17. Ok I have a problem. So today I bought my girlfriend a christmas gift. I spent around 150 dollars, there lays the problem I don't know if she can swing spending allot of money on me right now. I just don't want her to be embarrassed when its time to exchange gifts and she just gives me a CD..don't get me wrong I would be fine with getting just a CD because she was the one that got it for me but i'm just worried about how shes going to feel when she finds out how much I spent on her. (should I return what I got her and get her something a little less?) and get this she just got back from a trip from Florida and since she has been back she has been acting kinda stand offish, so now im thinking should i even bother getting her something of this magnitude if she is going to act like this...maybe shes just tired or misses her family in Florida im trying to give her the benefit of the doubt.
  18. link removed I haven't seen it posted here, and I believe this is an INVALUABLE resource, it's free, so I am posting it here. It's an mp3 of a sermon. Now, I don't go to church, short of easter and christmas, but believe me when I say this, listen to it. All of it. As I'm sure you'll see from the followup posts, you will see just how powerfull the mp3 is. So many times I've read things here, even my own posts, from failed relationships and I realized just how appropriate this sermon is. Listening to this over and over again when depression sets in really helps. Just give it a listen... and -- Let them go....
  19. I sent an e-card to my estranged mom for Christmas, and a recent picture of myself. We have been e-mailing a bit in the last few months, but she is very closed off. Anyways, she completely surprised me by asking (via her e-mail reply) if it would be okay if she came to see me when my sister comes to town. I couldn't believe it. I've been waiting for this (she hasn't been ready when I've asked) for years! I really hope that this is a new start for us, and not just yet another false start.
  20. My boyfriend and I have been together for two years, and will most likely be engaged very soon. He is a fantastic man, except for one problem: he doesn't ever show his feelings, or do anything thoughtful at all. There is no attentiveness, birthday gifts, christmas gifts, flowers, surprises, the things that make us women feel so special...He claims that he used to be very emotional, and went way out of his way to make a girl feel special, but realized that it was pointless and stopped. Does that mean he's been hurt? He won't ever talk about it. Just gets mad and says that my expectations are too high...that I don't appreciate what he gives. How do I bring out a more sensitive, attentive man in him? Is it even possible?
  21. Married for a good decade, children, house, a way-above-average sexlife, the perfect couple according to friends, my hubby hit me with a double whammy after christmas. he'd actually been considering an affair with someone from work - and during the discussions on this one, he mentioned he'd been seeing prostitutes. Not often - six maybe seven times since we've been together.Trouble is, five of those times were in the last year!!! It hit me for six - there we were having a great year, and yet he needed to relieve the pressure that was building up!!! He was no longer prepared to live by the rules society was forcing on him, he had behaved himself well for over ten years, his body is his to give to whom he chooses, it' just a man's thing etc etc. I was even told i shouldn't take it personally,it's not my fault, he loves me and can't bear the thought of losing me! And yet when the pressure becomes too much to bear, he needs to go .......!!He tells me not to get so worried and upset, it's not so important, i can't be everything to him and i DO have his kids and house, we share our everydaylife - and that if he's happy and satisfied he can do more and be more for the kids and me!! I just can't help feeling if i'm not good enough on all counts, then maybe its time to look around again! My trust is wobbly, i find it had to believe him, does he REALLY mean it, and i wonder what the hookers can give him that i can't.................. Riding this emotional rollercoaster is wearing me out -and i've got to keep it together for all those who depend on me! It's good to let it all out and to know i'm not alone with this kind of thing!
  22. Hi everyone. I have been reading posts for a while now, but this is my first time posting. It seems that everyone gives wonderful feedback on this site so I am hoping to get some advice for my own situation...My husband and I have been together 12 years, 7 married. We have been through very tough situations but it would take a bit of time and space so I am going to jump to the present situation. Just to give a little history though...Over the past few months my husband and I found out that he has a very poor sperm count and although we conceived once (miscarried) he probably would not be able to conceive again naturally. We went to a few appts about IVF to conceive; the day before we were to go to the doctor to fianlize plans, he fought with me about the moral issues regarding IVF (this was just his excuse but was BS). He then left and did not come home for a few days. A friend went to pick him up at a hotel after my husband called and begged me for help. He relapses on cocaine and alcohol. Had been in and out of recovery for about four years. He relapsed continued every couple of weeks after that night he first left in November. He left and did not return for Thankgiving. He left Christmas Eve when I was on my way to visit family and did not come back until the day after Christmas, even though he said he would come to see my family for Christmas. He excuse was that I left C-eve and he just left then too. Ultimately, he began so see his therapist again and came to the conclusion that he wanted to separate temporarily. Due to finances and a large mortgage he went to my mom's second house where she does not visit often. So here comes the double whammy...his cell phone bill showed obsessive calling and texting to another woman's number. I left him a message saying my heart was broken and that I found out he was having an affair and that the time had come for us to discuss detais and finance issues. My mother was infuriated and went to ask him to leave her house. He did politely and let her know he was the only one there the whole time (prob visiting his girlfriend in her apt I'm sure). He also told her he needed to talk with me about the situation and was going to come talk. Well-he never came and is now staying at his parents. I am sick to my stomach. Couldn;t even go to work today. Besides taking it one day at a time like everyone tells me to do I don;t know what to do. Do I just wait for me to come back to our house and give me closure? Do I file for divorce first? SOme people tell me I should call or show up at his parents and demand that he give me an explanation to my face. But that doesn;t feel dignified. Other people tell me i should fight for him and keep asking him to come home and get counseling but from the advice I've already read on this forum, I don;t think that would change his mind. Any help would be so very appreciated...
  23. Hey guys, i don't know if you remember me, it's been awhile. Brief summary: Boyfriend broke up with me after three years because he simply "didnt feel the same way about me anymore", told me to stop calling him on Christmas day...since Christmas, I have remained in strict NC-aside from looking at his facebook page and i unblocked him on AIM about the end of january, but didng IM him. I'm seeing someone else as well. So last night, i sent an email that i wrote about two weeks ago. I let it sit in my drafts folder to think about it. I decided last night to send it. I also sent all of his things in a box with no note or anything this week. I kind of looked at it as "creating my own closure" because he cut me off so quickly, we never even said goobye. So im going to post the email that i sent him, it's rather long, if you don't want to read the whole thing you don't have to. Dear ...., I've begun so many emails and letters to you, and normally, what happens when i try to write someone a letter is that I can just write and write and write. And then, even if I don't mean to, I hit the send button..because I feel so proud of how well I've expressed myself that..the other person HAS to see it. It's just too good for them to not see it. But everytime I try to write you a letter, nothing ever seems right to say. One reason is that in a lot of ways I feel like there's nothing more to say. But at the same time I feel like there is so much more to say. Another reason why writing you a letter has proven unsuccessful thus far is that what i have to say always just turns into hurt and anger, which helps neither of us. And in a lot of ways, I have been waiting for you to make the first move...after all, you were the one who made so clear how unwanted my efforts to communicate are. So what do I want to say? What could i possibly have to say to you? Why am i even writing you now? do I want closure? I don't know, the more i think about it, the more i think that there's no such thing as closure...For a long time, I thought closure would be to make you feel how i felt. I wanted you to feel how i felt on christmas day. I wanted you to feel how it feels to spend three years with someone, and have the last thing that they say to you is "stop calling". Or how i felt the entire last six months that we spent together, and how badly you treated me, which in retrospect, was extremely bad. Or how it made me feel after the first few weeks, realizing that you never were going to call...when you never called or wrote or expressed any kind of apology or sadness. And that's probably what hurt me the most. But i have realized that none of those things would help me to move past the fact that i lost my best friend, which is ultimately, the final thing that I have to get over. And it's still a battle, just not having you in my life. To me, it's so strange how everything turned out okay, and how i didn't die. i really thought i couldn't live a day without (his name). It's so weird how you wake up the next day breathing. And realize that life does go on. and it's funny, when i met someone else..i wanted to call you..not to rub it in your face, but to share it with you. to be like this is so exciting! maybe out of habit, or maybe out of the fact that regardless of everything your friendship meant everything to me. i mean, same thing with ben folds, or for anything else good or bad that happens..i miss having your support, i miss having your input, and i miss hearing your voice. i miss being able to call you and tell you what's going on in my life. i miss my best friend. I really, truly do. You hurt me so badly (his name). I don't think i've ever felt more betrayed or let down in my entire life by the way that everything happened. And my guess is that this letter is going to mean practically nothing to you. That you wish I would just let it go, or something of that sort. And I understand that this did not affect you as much as it did me, because you had begun letting go of me long before we broke up. I also understand that the person that i was holding onto for so long is not the person who you are today. But someday, when you come accross something that reminds you of me, or a song that makes you think of me, or you just want to call me--and your heart gets very sad, just know that i am thinking of you and praying for you. please know that my love for you extends beyond solely boyfriend and girlfriend, and that i will never stop caring for you. i'm not saying that you need that, but i'm just expressing to you that nothing you could do would completely burn the bridge that we spent three years building. I'm glad now, that I have waited this long to write you a letter, because at this point, i can write this letter knowing that even in my subconscious I am not trying to accomplish anything by writing this. I'm not trying to prove anything to you, and I owe you nothing. This letter is as real and as sincere as it gets and i mean every single word of it. I am not trying to make you feel a certain way or bring up old feelings. It is just time. i hope that you find what you are looking for, no matter what that may be. i want the best for you. And as hokey pokey as it all sounds, just know that in spite of everything, i will remember you with a smile, and that your memory will always hold a special place in my heart. Love changes, but it still never fails. No regrets, Carrie okay, so a couple hours later he replied with this: you're wrong. your letter means a lot to me. we'll talk, i promise. in a few days, im working through some stuff. (his name) ps its great to hear from you I'm confused by his response. I didn't think that my email was asking him to contact me. But i'm also going crazy. He's back in my head now, which is awful. I wanted it to be overwith. What do i do when he calls? (He will, hes not that big of a jerk)...do i not answer? do i email him back? in a sick way i want to talk to him, but probably for the wrong reasons. And it would break my heart if he just wanted to be "friends" or have "small talk"...ugh..what do i do?
  24. I have been trying to get hold of my ex-bf for about a week now. I left a pleasant message asking him if he would call me please. I left him a message asking him if he'd like to buy some of my musical equipment. I'm really broke now and I really can use the cash. He broke up with me during the Christmas holidays and hasn't called me or return any phone messages I made to him once since then! Last week I called him and left him a message. To my amazement, he called me back after about 45 minutes! Why.. i have no clue, because, as I said before, I've called him several times since we met up last and he never once returned a call since Christmas. I was so shocked I didn't even answer. I was at my friend's house to hang out and relax and I didn't want to speak to my ex-bf in front of my friend, if he was going to be hateful to me, and then ruin my evening with my friend. So.. I didn't answer the phone, he didn't leave any message, but he did call me back again in another 20 minutes. Like I said, I probably would of answered it if I had been home, but I didn't want to have a conversation with him, have him be all mean and nasty to me on the phone, and have me end up in tears at my friend's house. He has been hateful in the past to me on the phone, and like I say, it's been like 2 months, so it's not like we are on the best of terms. In fact, he never even bothered to break up with me, he just stopped calling me altogether or answering my calls! My self-esteem is still trying to recover from that episode, believe me! He acted really weird the last time we were together during the night (but, that's another story in itself). Anyway, when he called me last night. .I really didn't know what to say to him. I asked him about buying my musical gear, cuz he said he needed a new amp, and I have one I wanted to get rid of, but he said he didn't need it after all. He really didn't sound too excited to hear from me, and although I was so excited to finally be talking to him again, it was really awkward and neither one us seemed to know what to say to each other. On one hand, I could go off on him, screaming and complaining about the shabby behavior I got from him in the end. I figure if i do that, he'll just hang up. However he didn't ever say, "Look, I'm sorry i didn't call you back or nothing." My birthday falls in the Christmas holiday and his shabby treatment to me really ruined my birthday and the whole holiday I was depressed and all alone. During the call, I heard another beep on his line and he said he had a call coming in... I hung on the line since I didn't know if he was going to get back to me or not since it was 2 months since he called, who's to say he'd even call me back?? I stayed on line for a few minutes and was eventually disconnected. I figured, oh, well, it's just him, being inconsiderate again. However, I get this phone message from him, saying sorry, he had to cut me off, that he had to take an important family call. His voice sounded really friendly and polite too in the phone message! Okay, no problem, that sounds like his old polite self. I must say that he was really really considerate to me when we first started hanging out. I didn't call him back because i figured, all he was doing was trying to sound polite. He said he wasn't interested in the musical stuff, and it didn't say on his message he was going to call back, nor to call him back. Awhile later, I check my phone again and see another message and it turns out to be from him! It says that if I'm really needing money, he knows of some way I can make it. He doesn't say what.....so that sounds a bit sketchy.. Like just what does he have in mind? I sure hope it's legal, cuz if it's not.. i'm not going there! lol Anyway, like I say I'm flat broke, so I call him back, saying, "Hey, i got your message and I'm home so if you wanna give a call back, I'm up for awhile at least." That was 9:30 pm and he never called back. I don't know what to do now.. I'm surprised as hell, he'd call me up in the first place after all this time. I'm also surprised he'd call me back after we got cut off, cuz he's been so rude to me in the past. Then he calls again, telling me of some "way to make money". I gotta admit I'm curious, and if he knows of a good job, I'll go check it out. I'm just wondering how to approach this. One part of me would sort of like to be friends, and then, of course, one part of me wants to get back together with him again. Then there's another part of me that is just too scared and gun-shy at this point with this particular guy cuz I'm figuring he'll just keep pulling his inconsiderate crap and I just cannot stand anymore of that emotional upheaval. And there's a part of me that would just like to tell him off. What should I do? I'm having trouble making ends meet, I've applied to all kinds of jobs with no success. Should I just swallow my pride and try call him back? I did call him this weekend and left some messages. He never responded to them. It seems he's not that good either at checking his message, or he just doesn't want to get back to me. I have to wonder why he even called me in the first place honestly... since he's been like non-existence for the past 2 months. And then to call me back twice!?!!? What do you think is up with this?
  25. Well, I preface this by saying that it's going to be long and quite self-involved. Mostly I'm looking for an objective response to what happened between me an my ex, one way or the other... I don't necessarily want to know who was right and who was wrong but rather gut reactions to what I'm saying. This will be the first time I've ever laid it all on the table for anyone to see, so it's a bit of therapy in that regard as well. Here goes. I'm sure anyone who gets through this mass will deserve a gold star. I meet my girl at a party at my house in early December of 2005. We hit it off right away as in within a half hour to an hour I'm kissing her and within two hours we're back together in my room. Things get hot and heavy, but we're both drunk and she quite wisely declines to actually have sex. We hang out, kiss and such, for the rest of the night and fall asleep in each other's arms. I drive her home in the morning and within a couple of days we are officially boyfriend and girlfriend. She leaves in like a week to be with her family in Hong Kong for Christmas and we basically have a three week hiatus from one another to deal with that, her calling me maybe twice during that time. We get back together at the end of that and things pick up like they'd never left off. This continues for roughly seven and a half months, to June. This marks the first serious relationship I've ever hard. In between June and when she gets back from HK, we have a great time. I help her write a paper to study abroad (it's accepted), we hang out quite a bit (though time off from week to week for studying, she's a good student and I need space fromt time to time) but basically become partners in crime for all events and fun times for the whole of those months. Sex is great (as far as I know) and we have an amazing time together, from watching movies to going on double dates with the end of her basically living with me for a period of four months, including a trip we take together to New York City for a week of seeing the sights and enjoying our limited time together (no sex this whole trip, by the by). The 'limited' part is where the trouble starts... As far as I know everything I've said so far is accurate. To judge from my friends, it's mostly accurate because of what they've told me, first, about her reactions to me and, second, about their impressions of us together. Basically that we were two peas in a pod, that she'd never been so happy with a guy before, etc etc. Cut to June and I'm saying goodbye to her as she's leaving for Hong Kong, again, this time to study abroad for a year. I know it's going to be hard but I'm confident we can work it out. My reasons are that 1) she had a LDR before that lasted for a year (she ended it because he didn't communicate enough), 2) she told me again and again that was her other half, I taught her what real love is, etc etc 3) I knew sex wasn't that important to me and phone calls would be enough. She's in Hong Kong for a month and we talk often, twice a week basically, staying close. No problems. I discuss visiting her in Christmas and how I could do it but would need to take out a small loan in order to afford things (it'd be easy to pay off, I just can't get large lump sums due to bills and such). She turns me down saying she philosophically disagrees with loans. I'm a little hurt by this but resolve to get two jobs to work it out. Just before her birthday, she tells me that she plans to be apart from me for three years and not just the one. She doesn't want me around when she comes back because she wants to focus on school (and wants me to do the same in grad school), then plans to go to Germany for a year (because she's 'only lived in two countries'). I'm starting to feel a little nervous at this point and ask for time to think. She says okay, we'll talk in a week. I decide I'm okay, I love her enough to wait and tell her as much. She says she we have switched sides and she no longer wants the relationship. I'm hurt by this but we decide to be friends. Naturally, there are problems. I'm still really hurting over her dumping me, but she promises we'll get back together when it's time (3 years). I'm skeptical, wondering who can wait three years citing the fact that she's had over thrity boyfriends before me and that I don't just want to sit around getting play in the meantime. Whe we talk during this time I express how badly I'm hurting and that I want her back - she doesn't commit one way or the other, but admits frustration at talking in circles. We continue to talk but one day she starts ignoring my emails (wherein I profess my love and confidence that things will work out in the long run) and pushing back our normal talk times. I end up calling her late on her time scale and saying I don't want to be least important thing in her life, basically saying that if she keeps leaving people behind it's going to end up hurting her in the end. She doesn't take it very well. We make up a little bit but agree for some NC, her promising me that she'll call me on my birthday. When that time nears I tell her that I work on my birthday and to call me in the evening. She ends up calling me about five minutes before I leave for work and we don't talk. She had plans later in the day so we won't be able to talk then and I agree to put things off until later. She promises to call me on a Sunday but ends up calling me on a Saturday. The Saturday she calls I've been consuming a keg left over from my birthday party and am more or less snookered. We have a conversation of some sort, where in I am pretty sure I was hurtful, but have no real memory of. It ends with her telling me that she's seeing someone else (that only memory I have of this conversation) and then silence. I appologize the next day for what I said (despite having mostly no memory of it, except for negative feelings), but confess that I expected her to call the following day. She's still upset and says we'll discuss it later. Some times later, after a few IMs, she ends up sending me an email wherein she states that we shouldn't talk to each other any more and that our relationship had deteriorated quite badly. I'm very upset that she didn't call me and end up ringing her several times to demand an explanation. she says that it's over and that we could never date again in the future. She wishes me a good quarter and we hang up. I call her once more, immediately after, to say that I would have loved her forever and we leave it at that. I contact her occationally through IM off and on over the course of a few months and she respond at first, even contacting me from time to time, before (in december) ignoring a 'Merry Christmas' message and then more or less shutting me out completely. The other stuff I mention above happened in September, by the by. I stay resolute in contacting her in what I percieve to be a friendly manner. I'd post an example but I have deleted all those messages as of the end of December... One day my friend tells me that when he attempted to ask her how she and I stood she blew up at him and shut down their conversation. This signifies to me that it's over. In response to that, I take her off my facebook, myspace, delete all her pictures and more or less throw out all the stuff she's left me. Before I burn her number and the ability to contact her I give her one last call (on christmas day of all days, though in Hong Kong , which was insensitive on my part) and basically wish her a good life. She says, 'What do you expect me to say?" I respond, 'Nothing.' She bids me merry christmas, happy new year and basically hangs up though I was more or less hanging up at the same moment. Despite all this, I try and contact her once every two weeks in an attempt to maintain a friendship until sometime in late January. She does not respond. Finally, at the end of January, she responds but to the effect that she has her father send me an email more or less telling me to back off or find myself in trouble (they are both in another country at this time and I have not spoken to her in a number of months, in fact, I sort of assumed she'd been deleting my message unread). He's not an english speaker by birth so I'm not certain of his intent but I took it to be threatening. I respond by saying that he shouldn't have to fight her battles but I will respect his wishes and stay out of her life for good. I have done so for the past 30+ days. What went wrong here? What are the opinions of the peanut gallery? My feeling is that it was over long before I realized it or she had the courage to say it. On the other hand, we were so good together when we were ACTUALLY together and it seems insane that something so trivial as distance should result in me losing someone who was my dear friend as well as my lover. I look for any and all responses. Thank you for your time and I appreciate anyone who read through this all - I tried to be as thorough and unbiased as possible.
