first date went well, now what?

I have never had a normal girlfriend before, I don't know how to describe an abnormal relationship but all of my previous ones have just been different from the standard.

Anyway, I just had a first date with a nice girl and everything went well, we went to dinner and talked for about 2.5 hours and it was smooth, like no awkward silences and stuff. But the thing is I had sort of prepared, in my head, a list of topics to talk about and it was just sort of perfect timing that I had exhausted my list just as I was dropping her off. So everything was fine BUT I wouldn't have known what to say next if we were continuing our conversation. Maybe she probably would have had something to talk about because she was coming up with topics herself but my question is: "Will it become more natural once we get to know each other? Is it normal to be a little awkward at first? Is it a good sign that we were able to have an entertaining conversation for 2 1/2 hours?"

As I said, I've had girlfirends before but never a "normal" gf-bf relationship. So this has never come up before.

Its obvious she likes me and I like her (her smile is so cute!) I think next time I ask her out I'll try to make it an activity date. Is that a good idea?

Variaity is always good, so you can figure out what she likes, I would have to say that 2.5 hours is a good amount of time, considering it is your first date too, they are always more ackward, and you will I think later be able to just come up with subjuects on the spot easier without having to right them down before hand.

I find that so cute, that you wrote down the topics that you wanted to talk to her about! Aww! Don't worry...she likes you! You obviously had a nice 2 1/2 hr long talk. I think the next date should be something more active, like miniature golf or bowling. Something you like doing and think she might enjoy too. It'll flow more naturally as you get more comfortable with her. Ask her about her life. Show interest in her. That should get her talking.

I agree that it was so cute of you to think of topics beforehand!!! 2 1/2 hours is very awesome and I can bet that she likes you. She is probably feeling nervous and awkward just like you since its only the beginning.

For the next date, I recommend maybe ice skating or skiing since it is winter time. But of course not all areas have this snow and cold weather right now.

I hope it all goes well

Well, I didn't physically write them down, I just kept the list in my head!

I never thought of it as cute, but thanks!!

Yeah, there is a bowling alley with a mini golf course on the other side of the street from my house! But it is winter now so no mini golf. There is a ski resort nearby but they haven't opened yet. Its kind of that inbetween season when there isn't much to do.

I did have an idea the other day though. I was driving past this new horse racing track, its nice, like they have a casino and stuff, I've been there once, it was really fun.

Does that sound like a fun date?
