Awww! Trust me, you probably have more in common with girls than you know. It's really natural for teens to feel the way you do.

I was the geekiest, shyest girl when I was 15 - the last person you'd think would ever have a boyfriend. When I was 16, I met this guy and we ended up going out for a year. Now I'm 22 and I've been out with heaps of guys, and I often look back at my teenage years and think 'wow, I can't believe how nervous I used to be around guys!'. I've gone from someone who used to know NO guys in highschool (I went to a girls' school) to being a university student with far more male friends than female. So I know exactly how you feel, but trust me, things will happen with age.

Don't worry too much about not having a girlfriend. Do any of your male friends have a girlfriend? If so, perhaps you could get your friend to organise a party and invite all his girlfriend's female friends, too. It doesn't have to be a party - any kind of social thing like movies, bowling, whatever you feel comfortable doing. It's just one idea And if you feel nervous around girls, I can tell you as a chick that girls are nervous around boys too! We're all in the same boat. Good luck!

That sucks. People can be mean, even if they're only joking.

Well, perhaps the real reason you want a g/f is to avoid all the pressure from your mates. If they didn't knock you all the time, do you think you'd want a g/f so desperately?

I know it's hard to not worry about them, ignore them, etc. But they do sound pretty immature. Try not to let it get to you.

You could always try and meet someone online, too. Even just to chat to some other girls as friends to boost your confidence. Find a New Zealand site and log on. Or you could join a sporting club or whatever where you'd get to socialise with girls.

But the important thing is that it's perfectly fine for someone your age to have never had a g/f. I'm sure you can think of heaps of guys at school who are in the same position as you
