Stephanie_WeTodd
My boyfriend and I have been asked to be a friends newborn baby's god parents. She picked us so that if anything were to happen to her kid that my boyfriend and i would take care of it. I know that if anything happened to her and her husband that the next of kin would get it and that would be her mother. But being a god parent and offical one that our names on the birth certificate, does that mean that it would go to us and not the next of kin being her mother?.. thanks steph Link to comment
jessikate
Stephanie, unless otherwise stated in some sort of will, the child will most likely become a ward of the court and they will decide who is most fit to take on custody. I hope that helps! I would get a second opinion, though. (I'm not too sure... but I think I'm right...) Link to comment
