Why is he always on my mind?

My friend is always on my mind. I don’t like him that way but for some reason I’m always thinking of him. I don’t really think of my other friends. Wondering what he’s doing, how he’s doing and if he’ll text me. I used to be attracted to him but I just like him as a friend and I care for him. Is this normal?
