On his mind

My ex boyfriend randomly messaged me and asked how I am doing. I said I'm fine and asked about himself and he said "you were on my mind so I'm just shouting you"

I didn't ask what he ment by that as I didn't want to seem like I was prying or over exaggerating a greeting.

I am however curious by what he meant by "on my mind" and why was it so impactful to reach out to me. Obviously I'm going to think oh he's thinking about me positively but again I don't want to over analyze.

We had a pleasant but short conversation.

It means nothing. He was bored so he randomly texted you and didn't think how this would affect you. Texting such nonsense to a person he has dumped was insensitive and selfish. It is on you to see it for the nonsense it is and refrain from thinking there is anything substantial behind it. Posting about it shows you are not over him.

You're overthinking it, just like in your last post. It doesn't mean anything, just that you cant let it go. He was thinking about you in that moment and decided to say hi. That's all.
