I think I want to go to the Airforce Reserves?

Okay so here's the thing I'm thinking about going to the Airforce Reserves especially since Right about now I need all these things in one;a place to live, education and medical benefits,I've been living with my brother and his wife because I had ended up falling on hard times and ended up homeless.

(I really don't want to be there again) but for some reason no matter how hard I try I can't get it all the way together even to get my own place or a roommate,I did have a job and was getting back into school but the job was only 9 dollars an hour and part time and they started cutting hours a lot! Already it's 1700 for a studio and roommates want you to show pay stubs that you make enough to rent a room from them,at the end of the day it's not enough to get my own place or get a roommate,my brother's wife doesn't want anyone else living here with them and gave a time frame of me being here (4 months) my brother is trying to keep her happy by trying to get me out as fast as he can so she can stop complaining about me being here but the funny thing about it is I don't make noise, don't eat here and constantly clean up but anyways he says to me

"have you found a place yet" and I've already explained to him the whole situation and that I've been going on interviews to find a better paying job

(no luck yet) but obviously my time is just up so it doesn't matter;i even over heard her talking and she even told him

"I don't care where she has to go! When I was homeless no one helped me so she has to go out on the street and fend for herself!" At this point i have no one else to look to and no other options but I looked into the Airforce Reserves and talked to a recruiter and they told me about a lot of different opportunities and benefits and that I could enlist for only 2 years if I want to and get a college degree....What are you guys thoughts?

If the air force will take you, and doing it can help you figure out how to care for yourself- then do it. But make sure you understand what it would mean if you were called to active duty.

You get a lot of great things from joining the armed forces, even in reserve. But its a huge commitment. Not that commitment is bad, but it is serious. You can't just quit because its too hard.

I say do it.

Thank you I really appreciate it and yes I've talk my recruiter already and scheduled my a.s.v.a.b and thought about it long and hard and I've done exstinsive research on it and watch YouTube videos of tons of others who experienced every part of the Airforce and I'm very interested and even been working out a lot more to get ready for b.m.t so I'm serious about it and ready.

Yes ,here reserves you work one day a week and one weekend a month. So I'm assuming the American system is pretty much the same . As a Regular Force member here you are entitled to live on base but we pay for our housing. And to live on base you have to have a spouse and kids . We do get paid more though. As a Mcpl in a specialist trade my husband makes over 70,000 a year. Pilots will make more because they are officers . A cornflake no hook private here makes about 33,000. But those are full time pay rates.
