El0t
My significant other woke up today and said, "Do you want to hear about a dream I had that doesn't reflect that well on my character?" Apparently he had a dream that his brother was meeting up with a model for Hot Topic or something of that ilk; painted on eye brows, fake breasts, bleached and dying hair. He said a camera was involved, like they were doing a photo shoot or something. And then they were sharing her on a bed. He said he woke up when she finally said "stop", so he stopped and woke up. -- Trying to satiate my curiosity, as this is something I haven't really dealt with before. Is this normal? Does anyone have an interpretation of what it might mean other than just taking it at face value? Or is it what it is? Is it a cause for concern? Link to comment
j.man
Dreams are dreams and that's all we have definitively determined. It means nothing more than your SO does in fact go through a REM cycle. But that's very good! Otherwise, he'd die. Link to comment
ParisPaulette
It pretty much doesn't mean anything. You can Google dream interpretations all day long and everyone will have a different interpretation. It's more just a random bit of code tossed into the mix and is what is known as a sex dream, and yeah I think pretty much everyone has them, most won't probably remember them. Quite possibly even you have had them and just don't remember them and they don't mean anything even if you do. And it can be downright distressing, but in the end it doesn't mean anything that usually has to do with sex really. A friend of mine in high school had a dream she had a hot affair with our math teacher--a guy who was about as far from teen dream material as you can get. She was seriously freaked out about it until she and I sort of realized she'd been thinking about the math class a lot, because she was massively anxious over year-end math tests in order to get into college. For some reason her mind tossed him up with her into a scenario that was never going to happen in five trillion years. Bottom line is if our dreams really meant something one for one then I am apparently able to fly, breathe under water, and shoot a bazooka against a horde of invading aliens. In real life I can do none of these things at all, especially not the bazooka where they'd be scraping bits of me out of four counties should I attempt to fire one. (Laughs) Discount it, laugh, accept that our dreams selves are sometimes rather wild, tease him about it. Move on. Link to comment
Wiseman2
I don't know...Freud would have a field day with that one. I think it's normal to have all sorts of weird dreams. I dreamed I surfed a 100 ft. tsunami and the view was really cool. Does anyone have an interpretation of what it might mean other than just taking it at face value? Link to comment

Clinton
It means that secretly he's in love with his brother. The hot model represented the barriers society had placed between them because of the immorality of their forbidden love. The model saying stop was society telling them what they were doing was illicit. I'd be worried. Your partner secretly longs to have an incestuous relationship with his brother!!!! Link to comment
journeynow
It only matters what it means to him. If you dreamed it it would have meaning specific to you, but since it is not your dream it is not from your unconscious nor are they your dream images. Link to comment

Wiseman2
It sounds like he enjoys describing porn-like dreams to you. he had a dream that his brother was meeting up with a model for Hot Topic or something of that ilk; painted on eye brows, fake breasts, bleached and dying hair. boltnrun
Maybe it's because he has a problem with lying to cover his tracks and he knows it. Link to comment
