trigeminal neuralgia?

OK ,I have been in a ridiculous amount of pain for the past two weeks .

Oh awful! I'm having pains as well. The electric shocks again. They need to find something definite for this pain asap!

I just can't go up in medication or I can't drive my son to school or go to work . It's ridiculous I don't know what to do at this point . Other than take the pain for the next year until we can clear up a lot of things .

Will they still be able to do your surgery ,Sara?

Yes they can, in fact it's easier for me to tell now right away if the surgery has worked!

So in that sense i hope the pain stays till then.....otherwise I'm weaned of the meds in 6 weeks time....or more since i take so much.

You basically can't live with this pain but you can't with the meds either which is why i chose this surgery to have a hope of a somewhat normal life afterwards.....with still a tumor in my head though.....

I am totally off Lyrica now. I have more energy ! I'm going to start to try weaning off my medication now. You need teeth to eat with my crumbling teeth I wont allow. So after next week I will start weaning the Tegretol.

Good you're off the lyrica now! I hope the tegretol will go well too. Did you mention the cannabis already? It may be a good option...

Completely off Lyrica and down to 700 mg of Tegretol. In another week I can go down to 600 mg . I'm hoping for 400 mg or even 200 mg. No pain yet!

Getting off the Lyrica I have also started to dream again. I have had almost no dreams in a whole year at least none that I remember . Now I'm starting to dream every night again .

I didn't dream as much either as i used to but now it's increasing as well....

I am at 600 mg now and no pain but feel agressive though.

No pain yet! So I will give it another week and go to 500 mg.

I had one medication I was on that gave me night terrors. It was awful. I'm on something different now, but I still dream almost every night. I remember all mine, too.

Yeah, I have not had a dream in a year that I remember plus no waking up at night. Now as my medication reduces I'm back to insomnia . Bleck!!

As a plus though I have more energy than just to sit on my sofa .

Tomorrow I go to 400 mg.

I am down to 400 tegretol and 600 gabapentin as of yesterday.... and in 2 days or so i will take another 300 gabapentin off.....

When can you lower again?

I am doing it about every 3 weeks. Very slow so I don't upset my brain too much.

Oh yes so much better! The fog is clearing and i feel i have more energy, i just am not able yet because i have no stamina whatsoever....

You're right to lower so slowly, i can go faster than that because the problem is fixed and if all goes on this way then I'm off the meds somewhere in the next week after the next weekend.....

I hope so!!!! My migraines started back with a huge increase so I guess medication was controlling that as well. But I have way more energy . And hopefully my memory comes back soon !

Sleep is getting more difficult but i rather have that than the meds......

Yes, I am back to insomnia but that's fine because at least I can wake up and not chew through my own teeth . Everything is a trade-off right ?

Exactly, I'm happy to go pee two or three times a night! It's also much easier to wake up in the morning....

I am at 200 mg as of yesterday! No pain just the odd tingly itchy feeling in the nerve.
