TheOutsider1
How can i characterize or give a picture of a speaker who isn't involved in the poem? The poem refers to a character as "She" so obviously somebody else is speaking, 3rd person. How on earth can i describe a speaker who says nothing about herself/himself? Link to comment
abitbroken
The speaker does say a lot about themselves based on the manner they speak about the other person. You can tell what their relationship is, etc, and what they are feeling. Link to comment
TheOutsider1
The speaker isn't providing any information about the relationship with the character. To sum it up, the speaker talks about how sad the character's life was. The speaker isn't at all included in the character's life Link to comment
abitbroken
Does that mean that the speaker is compassionate? Or do they pity the person? Do they use proper English or do they speak in a dialect? Link to comment
TheOutsider1
more compassionate, it seems. It's proper English. I have an idea now. The tone, etc gives away the speaker lol thanks Link to comment
