For ENA moms and moms-to-be!!

Over the last few months, I have noticed that I am by no means the only pregnant ENA member

So, I thought it would be nice to have a central topic for us 'moms-to-be' to talk about all kinds of pregnancy related stuff. From nausea to first kicks, from shopping maternity clothes to decorating the baby room.

Welcome mommies!

I am so excited for you SamiJayne!!

I have to deliver in 16 weeks??? OMG lol. Time is flying!! First I was counting days and now I am starting to get a bit... nervous!

No swollen ankles so far, I think at this moment the back pain and ligament pain are my worst complaint, I am much happier than I was in the first trimester (the nausea... Still very tired though.

No, we don't want to know the gender before the bean is born. We have nice names for both. It's good we have similar taste, because finding the boy name was very difficult. But I dreamed of having a toddler boy with honey-blond hair like me and big eyes like my husband But I have no clue whatsoever...

My only advice is to get your rest before the babies born. I never knew how much a person can be deprived of sleep the first couple of months!

Congrats! In the end it is all worth it!

It's funny because here at work, all I get is "be sure you finish most of your dissertation BEFORE the baby is due". Which excludes the getting rest option all together.

Ah, Ac, I hope for you it will never come. I know plenty of women who really had a relatively easy first trimester. I wasn't one of those, but it could be soo much worse. I never had the 'executive' kind of nausea, I just thought that everything smelled horrible (omg supermarkets, cooking smells,... people in general... and that made me feel very sick.

Keeping my fingers crossed for ya!

I look forward to hearing good news from you Chasey xxx.

Adn Tinydancer that is a long drive to your doctors Make sure you get a lot of naps. Enjoy them while you can without having a baby wake you up! I know I am!!

I heard ginger biskets are good for morning sickness, but since I never had it. I don't know if they work. =(

Yay! Thanks for starting this thread - I'm at 29 weeks today, 11 to go! Eeek! We're expecting a boy on or around 1/5/10, there's alot of opportunities for cool birthdates (12/25, 1/1/10, 1/10/10) and I'm excited to see when he arrives. We are naming him Cooper Lee.

This Saturday is my baby shower - I'm nervous not many people will come... I've been out of town for 3 years and haven't worked since I got back or been great about meeting up with old friends, I think at least 10 people should be there with my mom's friends, lol, though I'm hoping for closer to 20. I haven't had a party just for me since I was a little girl! I've thrown tons of parties but this one is being thrown for me, it is alot easier for me to plan it than to be the GOH.

One of my best friends is also pregnant with a little boy - she is 2 months behind me. She currently lives out of state but is planning on moving back to her hometown (where I am) soon after the baby is born. I think it's awesome that we will be able to raise our sons together and they can be playmates! =)

My health has been fine, I've gained only a little weight (I had plenty extra before though!) and am looking forward to getting back into shape after the baby is born. I passed my blood glucose test just fine this week. I do have horrible heartburn and a hard time sleeping.

Wow, that's like a small novel! How boring - I get all excited getting to talk about it though!

Make sure to get lots of rest tinydancer!

Thanks SamiJayne. Unfortunately found out today my wait for MRI apt could be up to 2 1/2 months!!!! I don't wanna wait that long!!!!!

that really sucks

you would think it would be quicker since you guys pay for your health care. =/ Fingers crossed you get a cancelation. xxx I think about you often xx

How are you coping at the moment?

Chasey, also here it's often a case of waiting lists for treatments. Esp. in the fertility department, I've heard that it's normal to wait for 6 months at least for IVF/ICSI. I thank God that it isn't necessary. And I bet that also for you, since you know you and your partner can get pregnant, it won't take that long once your condition has been treated. I pray it can be treated well, I wish you a gorgeous baby

Tinydancer, are you experiencing morning sickness? Still? I hope you will start to feel better soon. It passed after 16 weeks for me, but it came back in waves until 18 weeks or so.

Yay MollyElise, already 29 weeks! Have fun with your babyshower!!

That is something typically American in my eyes- here it's not common at all. We do have 'birth showers' though.

I already gained quite some pounds... but it was necessary, I was very thin before I got pregnant (underweight even), I am supposed to gain at least 12/14 kilo. But I am not always liking it Belly, yay, thighs and butt... hmmm...

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for an earlier apt too.

I just wish we didn't have to wait for the MRI. I also got some blood work done so if those tests came back positive the MRI might not even be needed. But I think the specialist wants to wait for it anymore just to cover all bases, which I can understand.

I have several bad moments mixed in each day but am surviving. Thanks SamiJayne!!

Anyway, since I'm not actually pregnant right now should probably refrain from going into to much boring detail here.

Yes, MollyElise have a blast at your baby shower.

Here we have them both before baby is born or after. Depending on what the mom to be or person planning it decide I guess.

Already? that will become a lot worse

I am starting to have digestive issues a bit. The uterus is now about 2 inches above my belly button, which is also starting to pop out a bit. I don't like to eat full meals anymore, my stomach is pressed up a bit. I wonder how I will eat in the last weeks haha.

It shows much longer of course, but not from wk 12 on. I think people didn't have to ask if I was pregnant but could safely assume around 15 weeks.

Yeah, small meals. I am hungry all the time, so that's no problem. Sure as hell beats that dreading nausea I had at first.

How heavy was your son at birth catdancer? Do you know it in grams by any chance?

Link to comment

I have no idea of grams...sorry. He was so big that they had to take him at 37 weeks by c-section. I was having some breathing problems and at my 36 week ultrasound they estiamted his weight at 9.6 pounds and I still had 4 weeks to to go!!! So, they did an amnio to be sure that his lungs were developed and then they did a c-section a couple of days later. He was born at 37 weeks and weighed 9 pounds and 1.2 ounces. If he had stayed in the whole 40 weeks, they estiamted that he would have been 12 pounds. Yikes!! He was already the biggest baby in the nursery at the hospital.
