I'm a late-comer to this conversation, but I thought I'd add one thing (having just read through the entire thread):

Fif, I'm happy for you that things seem to be getting back on track for now--but something is still bothering me. This "fresh start" is the second one you've had in your relationship--and I wonder how many more are to come. Sure, sometimes couples come up against rocky times and are lucky enough to hang on till things get better again and they can begin anew; but when this is happening more than once, then it seems to me that what occurs between each fresh start is more telling.
