  1. This thread is really growing on me! "Two of Us" (an alt take) is on my perm playlist, and the Help! album is one of my earliest happy memories. Hope ya don't mind I add a pair of personal favorites: One, two, three, four Can I have a little more? Five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten... I love you. A, B, C, D Can I bring my friend to tea? E, F, G, H, I, J... I love you. Bump bump bump bump bubump Sail the ship Bump bubump Chop the tree Bump bubump Skip the rope Bump bubump Look at me All together now.... Black, white, green, red Can I take my friend to bed? Pink, brown, yellow, orange and blue... I love you. All together now.... Bump bump bump bump bubump Sail the ship Bump bubump Chop the tree Bump bubump Skip the rope Bump bubump Look at me All together now.... When I look into your eyes, your love is there for me And the more I go inside, the more there is to see It's all too much for me to take The love that's shining all around you Everywhere, it's what you make For us to take, it's all too much Floating down the stream of time, of life to life with me Makes no difference where you are, or where you'd like to be It's all too much for me to take The love that's shining all around here All the world's a birthday cake So take a piece but not too much Sail me on a silver sun, for I know that I'm free Show me that I'm everywhere, and get me home for tea It's all too much for me to see A love that's shining all around here The more I am, the less I know And what I do is all too much It's all too much for me to take The love that's shining all around you Everywhere, it's what you make For us to take, it's all too much It's too much.....It's too much
  2. This one is very old, but I'm only now beginning to appreciate it: A winter's day In a deep and dark December; I am alone, Gazing from my window to the streets below On a freshly fallen silent shroud of snow. I am a rock, I am an island. I've built walls, A fortress deep and mighty, That none may penetrate. I have no need of friendship; friendship causes pain. It's laughter and it's loving I disdain. I am a rock, I am an island. Don't talk of love, Well, I've heard the word before. It's sleeping in my memory. I won't disturb the slumber of feelings that have died. If I never loved I never would have cried. I am a rock, I am an island. I have my books And my poetry to protect me; I am shielded in my armor, Hiding in my room, safe within my womb. I touch no one and no one touches me. I am a rock, I am an island. And a rock feels no pain; And an island never cries.
  3. My ex is into soft classic rock. The stuff gives me the eebs. Just out of curiosity (more or less), have you apologized over this incident?
  4. Yeah, it happens to me occasionally. Every time it does, I feel like a dingleberry for letting my emotions get the best of me.
  5. You can FIND a reason in everything that happens if you want one. In the end, isn't that all that matters?
  6. Haha--I've loved it for decades. It's the Beatles' "I'm Looking Through You" and an odd rendition of "In My Life".
  7. Dako; now there's one hell of a good guy right there. I so want to be like him when I grow up.
  8. Great question! In my opinion, the sooner these vestiges of sexism are eradicated, the better. People should be free to act as they want without predefined stereotypes keeping them in narrow channels.
  9. I agree with Beec and the others who have recommended counseling. Molestation is a trauma of such magnitude that most people can't get over it without help. Good for you for having the courage to post about it here, and I hope you find a therapist soon who will help you find the peace and comfort that you didn't deserve to have taken away.
  10. I've never turned to books of questionable efficacy or mind games to find love, I don't like b_____s, I don't think love is war and I adamantly oppose using NC or any other unnatural maneuvering in order to influence a person's thinking. Hey, whatever weapons Beec wants to use in his power struggles is fine. It affects me nil. I'm just representing the counterpoint for the benefit of the OP.
  11. The reasons that he gave are all just excuses to justify his departure. If your post tells the whole story, then YOU didn't ruin the relationship; HE did.
  12. Although my profile says that I just joined, I've actually been reading your posts since April and I think you're one awesome individual. If you don't have any friends, either you've been hiding yourself under a rock or the people in your area must be really poor judges of character. Rock on, KIDD!
  13. I think Scout is right on the money. It does sound like you have had the misfortune of being around people who lack maturity and honor. Look for these things in your boyfriends before you get in too deep.
  14. I was one of those people, but my point was that building your self-confidence would help you to overcome your apparent insecurity. Unless you've heard complaints about your style, you might just be worrying over nothing.
  15. Put your relationship on an imaginary scale. Which side is heavier, the positive or the negative? Your answer should help you decide what to do.
