My girlfriend recently started taking birth control and she was told to wait till she was done with her first package to begin having unprotected sex. My question is this: is birth control effective at all within the first 30 days? She has currently been taking it for a little over two weeks.

I made the following post a few days ago, and since then it has happened two more times. It seems to be getting worse rather than better. Yesterday, she told me she wanted to have sex, and in the process of getting the condom I lost my erection. She became discouraged and we just gave up for the night. Then tonight we are in the middle of foreplay when I put the condom on, thinking that if I got it on right away that I would be okay...WRONG! I lost my erection nearly a minute during intercourse. I am 20 years old, this should not be happening to me! Afterwards she gave me a handjob and I came perfectly fine, no problems at all. She proceeded to get upset because I was able to stay hard and cum from that but that I could not while inside of her. Please someone tell me what to do to make this stop. I'm assuming it is becoming a mental thing more than anything, but I don't know how to stop thinking about it. She is getting frustrated because she thinks that it is her fault; I don't see how it could be though, and no matter how many times I tell her she keeps getting more upset about it. She is getting so discouraged to the point where she is saying we should just stop doing it completely. I definitely do not want that because I'm sure it will stop eventually. The last three times my girlfriend and I had sex, we went about 20 minutes each time without me cumming; in fact, I lost my erection everytime. It has nothing to do with her because it feels great. We have had sex plenty before this, and I have never had this problem. If I am out of her for barely a couple seconds I begin to lose the erection. Except with that, we had sex several times before this problem happened while my elbow was broke, and I still came. Second, a few weeks ago we were having sex and the condom broke. So now when we are having sex, I get nervous that it will happen again. I am constantly checking to make sure it is still fine even though I know it is. She said she was going to call to make an appt to get birth control, but she has yet to do it. I do not want to pressure her into doing it either, but it would make me so much more comfortable while having sex. However, like with the first possibility, we did have sex several times after the breaking incident with me still cumming. The third possibility is that maybe our foreplay is lasting too long and I run out of energy. I do not think that is very plausible as our foreplay is always typically long; though the last copule times it has been a little bit longer I think. Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong?!?! I am hoping it is just something that will go away shortly, and that it's nothing major.

we do actually break up what we're doing. even during sex i don't cum particularly fast but i don't really complain about that, neither does she haha. i would enjoy the fact that it takes long (talking about the handjob now) but i know it starts to hurt her arm.
